Nope..
Then what are conservatives given an inch on?

Who said I disagree that it was a horrible part of our history, but it was that. PART OF OUR HISTORY! This attempt to whitewash it by doing away with the Confederate flag is futile, IMHO. This is where you make a mistake in attributing to me, the character you want to impose on me because it is easier for you to argue...
Good glad we agree that outside agitators who forced this issue in the media, as well as those bused in to protest and deface statues in Charleston are in the wrong...
That's not what I said, though nice try. I answered your very stupid question about whether or not somebody should be able to come into your home and destroy a photograph on the wall of somebody that they don't like. Funny you thought you really had an accurate comparison with that silly analogy.
Oh it's apt....The problem you have is that you think you can do that type of thing, but heaven forbid anyone else do so....typical.
What does that even mean? Nazism was "legitimate", genocide of native Americans was "legitimate". Too many people seem willing to dismiss evil because it was the accepted mindset at the time, everybody was doing it, etc.
Nobody here is legitimizing it here. Rather they are saying hind-sight is hind-sight. Trying to apply a 21st century understanding to a 18th/19th century idea is asinine especially when those arguing for that application are ignoring on going slavery around the world. There are more slaves in the world today then there was in the in the US at the start of the Civil War. About 4xs as much.
There are better fights then fighting history. You could be making history instead of pissing and moaning about the past.
Ah, the slippery slope. Georgia took it down 14 years ago. They're doing just fine.
I'm sorry to dull your sensitivities. But go right ahead and justify human trafficking and slavery........if it makes you feel better.
No sir, again that's not what I said.
Of course not....Because we all know that everyone else is too damned dumb to get it, right?
I am not you nit wit. I am telling you there is SLAVERY STILL ONGOING and yet you are bitching about history.
She might very well be stupid, but I think you might agree with her if you knew the context in which she is speaking. She was comparing the call for taking down the Confederate flag with Thomas Jefferson's statue. I don't believe she was advocating for it's removal.
While discussing the movement to eradicate the presence of the Confederate flag, a CNN host asked whether we should also bring down a monument to a president who owned slaves.
After last week’s slaughter of nine black churchgoers by a white gunman in Charleston, South Carolina, aroused debate over the Confederate flag and inspired at least six major retailers to ban its sale, CNN host Ashleigh Banfield asked co-host Don Lemon whether this means we should also take down a memorial to former President Thomas Jefferson because of his slave ownership in the 1700s and early 1800s.
"Jefferson owned slaves," Banfield said, noting that a previous guest had made a "good point" in bringing that up. "Thomas Jefferson owned slaves -- third president of the United States. And there is a monument to him in the capital city of the United States. No one ever asks for that to come down. Is it equal [to the Confederate flag]?"
CNN Host Asks If Jefferson Memorial Is Equal With Confederate Flag
Libertarians/facepalm
yes, I want to take over the world then leave you the **** alone.
George Washington owned something like 318 slaves, **** that guy too right?
Jefferson Memorial, Confederate statues enter national race debate - LA Times
See how it usually starts, with a mere mention...a pondering of the concept. They float the idea out there probably hoping it'll pick up steam. No doubt they're probably already fantasizing about bulldozers coming in. I wonder when they'll want to posthumously impeach every slave-owning President and remove them from the history books. Probably only a matter time before more crazy ideas like this get floated. Should we include every President that said the word "nigger"? How far should we go in deleting those things that offend? How about the latinos?
Should we disassemble the United States and give them back the land we allegedly took? Right now this is all far fetched, but I don't trust this to end with just a Confederate flag.

Jefferson and founding fathers that owned slaves, huh? Then removing Confederate Flags from cemeteries and removing monuments. Why no mention of removing the Democrat Party?????
Probably because such doesn't exist.
Sure it does.....just like everything else, it has its History. Its reality. Just because they evolved like a virus. Doesn't mean they should be forgotten.
But then you can see where all the touchy feely and emotional crowd of the left will.....want the offending n~stuff to come to an end.
I think you misunderstood me.
This is nothing but another attempt to confuse the issue. The removal of the battle flag has nothing to do with slavery or dead people that owned slaves. It is about it's use in the 20th century as the banner of segregation and racial hatred. It's about living black people that remember that use and rightly find it offensive for it to be displayed on State property. I'm frankly getting tired of the right wing using nothing but far fetched slippery slope arguments to defend the undefendable. It is pitiful and lame.
Okay, I was going with what I had mentioned. The Democrats, which we know they still exist. For some odd reason.
