Subway's Jared Fogle the target of a police raid...

And the Jared jokes are flowing. I swear it's like everyone is dusting off their Michael Jackson jokes and giving them new life with a subway spin on it now.

Jared... Enjoying a $5 footlong in prison now.

Jared started and ended his career trying to get into smaller pants.

This stuff isn't looked upon well in prison. His crime and his fame might have him in isolation from the general population. I think he'd be a target.

Until real evidence comes out that he was involved, I will stand by him and his innocence. This happens too often in western culture where men are labeled sexual predators even before they are given the opportunity to step into a court room and defend themselves. I value hearsay from women who claim to have heard him say certain things as much as I value someone who claimed to have slipped on a wet floor in a supermarket so they can sue for a big payday. He is as much a target for gold digging women as any man with money. And what most men with money find out, is that if they don't dish it out, they will find women who are quick to get revenge.

Given that he took a guilty plea in his deal, it seems this was more than petty extortion.

Dude is also fat again it seems. Either subway failed him or he failed to eat subway.

I hate Subway. I hate the way it smells when you walk in there, and I hate the lack of flavor that their sandwiches have.

As little time as I have to cook, I'd much rather come home and cook than eat at Subway.

They just opened a firehouse subs here and it's fantastic. No more subway for me. It is dull and flavorless by comparison for sure.

Our Firehouse here is mediocre. Honestly, the best subs around here are from Publix (the grocery store). They make fantastic subs.

I think home made subs are far better than anything you buy because its made just the way you want it. Since almost all groceries these days have delis in them where you can buy professionally sliced meat then there's no reason to stop you from making a nice sandwich for yourself since you know what you want. :chew:

I have only eaten there once, but in my country there aren't that many to begin with. Most of my countrymen/women do not go there to get lunch, we are too cheap and usually make our own sandwiches and take that to work.

Also, most companies are on big industrial zones where sandwich companies deliver to the door of the company, no need to go out and get to a subway.

All this is so true...but the point is that none of us knows of any wrong done by Jared Fogle. Presumably, Subway does and chose to cut ties. At least I hope Subway knows something we don't know and didn't cut him loose simply because, to use a word employed in this thread, because he was "tainted" regardless.

I knew it was only a matter of time before he became a cause celebre on the right.

That would be nice, to not have to leave for lunch!

I actually almost never left for lunch. From what I remember only once that I went out to lunch. And that was only because we had the inspector of customs for a visit and my Japanese bosses wanted to take him to lunch and as the person responsible for the customs department, I went with them.

There were times that I went out to dinner when I had to work so long that dinner needed to be organized. I once worked in a warehouse where we sent out sports clothing and in the time just before the new soccer system/school year we usually had so much work that overtime was a regular occurrence. If that happened we stopped working at 5 for one hour dinner break, we were allowed to either order in for dinner or go out to dinner (paid within reason by the company) and at 6 we started working again until about 9pm (overtime pay was 150%). Nobody really objected, free dinner, hour paid break (because the dinner break was a paid hour) and then 3 hours work for 50% more an hour.

But normally people take their own pre-packed lunch to work. Maybe once a week we would order sandwiches from a German sandwich company (the business I worked at was just a few miles from the German border).

I think the Subway in the region where I now live survives on school kids who go there during their break.

Now that this has turned into a critique Subway thread, I'll chime in.

They are flavorless and dull. I rarely eat there. It's not gut-wrenching horrible, but it's certainly not inspiring, either.
