Protesters clash over Confederate flag outside Phoenix Walmart

Gee, thanks for the history lesson.

It still happened.

I believe you, and I learned something today.

I retract my belligerence.

Still, it was just a territory. I need to read up on why AZ was by far the last of the 48 to become a State. That could be interesting. Sheriff Arpaio's great grandfather might be involved. lol

I guess it's you who don't understand the first amendment quite well. The first amendment implies the freedom of speech and self-expression and yet this right is being violated...

Are people being arrested for waving the confederate flag? Government fining people? How is the right being violated?

Phew! Thank GAWD it's a protest over the Confederate flag at a Walmart no less. Why if this was a protest at a Walmart over better wages, the right to form a union, maternity leave and pay for women and health benefits for employees it wouldn't be news at all.

They provide medical, dental, and vision coverage and even maternity leave. Try again.

Ever been to Prescott, Flagstaff, or the north rim?

Yes Sir! I rode 'Doug', my mule, down to Phantom Ranch and back up to the rim in 1977. That was the most beautiful excursion that I've ever been on. It scared me half to death lol.

EDIT: My post to Beefheart was more in reference to Tucson and Phoenix. Two cities that sprang up after the building of Lake Mead.

I am a native, even though there are a lot of brainless rednecks here, it is a great state. As for Arpaio, old "nickle bag" is from the east coast, thankfully he is not a native.

As for the battle of Picacho Peak, (the only mountain between Phoenix and Tucson), it wasn't much more than a few shots fired.

Again, with your Libertardian nonsense. Only full time employees receive any benefits and only if they worked there for over 2 years. Walmart is doing their best to cut such employees hours. Funny how you overlooked the union part and decent pay.

All beautiful. We want to retire to Prescott.

Well that's a great place to do it. I just bought property in the southern tip of the Rockies, not far from Santa Fe, for the same purpose as yours. The topography and climate very similar to that of Prescott. Full of ponderosa pine and blue spruce. Oh, and the desert down south probably was useless to pioneering Americans because of the hardships it presented for their mode of transportation at the time, but it's quite lovely in its own way too. Hope you realize your plans in Prescott.

I have a few friends that live up there, and my brother has a small home up in Sedona for the weekends. Sedona tourists are too weird for me...

I see, so lets ignore that your post was wrong because of conditions that you just thought up now.

Why would I pay any mind to the union part of your post? It's not even up to wal-mart if their employees have a right to unionize nor can wal-mart legally stop them. The whole decent pay crap is subjective, so what basis would I have to even win the argument against you anyway? Why would I humor subjective idiocy?

I myself have no idea on why you continue to derail thread after thread with incongruent subject matter.

WTF? You're the one that brought it up.

Sounds perfect Monte. And I also agree about the desert. I actually adore the southern desert in Arizona, I find it quite beautiful. I actually would like to go to the northwest Phoenix area, by the White Tanks, but my former hockey player husband would die in the heat.

Love Sedona. Love Jerome even more. Sedona is gorgeous but a little too touristy for me.

Phoenix is too hot this time of year to be protesting anything.

Hey, will WalMart gets props from the left now for being sensitive to the Confederate flag cause?
Don't be ridiculous!
