Episcopalians Vote to Allow Gay Marriage in Churches

How dare she be able to give communion right???

Distributing the Sacrament is not the same as consecrating it. Just FYI.

The Church of England WAS the Episcopal Church before the name change and the revolutionary war. The reason they changed the name is because anything English was radioactive to the Americans and anything American was radioactive to the British, but otherwise it was the same bunch, the same clergy, same congregations.

Not anymore. Heretics like John Spong saw to that.

They've lost members because of their departure from scripture AND their own 39 Articles of Religion.

The Episcopal Church stopped being a Church a long time ago, it's just a social club.

This is entirely unfair. And you know it.

I'm willing to be convinced. Do you think I like being this cynical about it?

However cynical you may be, you know that there are Episcopalians who remain earnest Christians and who don't regard their faith experience as a mere "social club." For some of all denominations and sects, church/synagogue/mosque attendance is the socially expected and done thing, but I just can't categorize in this way an entire denom.

Christians in name only. If you don't adhere to scripture, you're a fake. The Bible wasn't meant to be redefined or rewritten...only reread.
...and then interpreted by you eh?

please quote verse and scripture what it says that marriage is anything but a man and a women like you claimed.
I am waiting.

anyting else you posts is just distraction arguments because you can't backup what you said.

No I want you to defend YOUR interpretation of the bible. so please quote the bible verse and scripture that agrees with you.
I am still waiting for you to prove to me that the bible says that gay marriage is ok.

You are right. Scripture does not endorse gay marriage. One can find support for child rape, child marriage, genocide and of course slavery in the Old Testament, but nothing supportive of gay marriage. ;)

Do I know that? Earnest Christians and clergy have been leaving TEC in droves for 15 years that I know about, I have to wonder if there are any left. But, I'll concede the point. God said that if there was one righteous man in Sodom He would spare the city, let's hope there is one righteous man in left in TEC.

Keep waiting. I don't mean this to insult you, but I really don't care about (am indifferent to) your interpretation of the Bible, and who you think has it wrong, and I'm not going to defend or argue on behalf of those you disagree with. All I'm noting is I believe (my own opinion is) that men and women of good will and a legitimate desire to live according to God's will DO (billions of them) disagree with you and are as positive you are wrong as you are certain they are.

The end.

then you need to retract your statement you can't prove what you said is true and you know that for a fact that is why you refuse to post scripture and verse to support yourself.
thank you for your concession.

you won't even backup your interpretation with anything it has nothing to do with me that is a projection fallacy.
you are the one that made the statement it is up to you to prove it.

you refuse to prove it because you simply can't.

you are right The End you Lose.

They can disagree with me all they want to I will ask them the same question.

provide scripture and verse that supports gay marriage.
if they can't then they are not following God's word but man's word.

There is a church in town that practices that. Not allowed to read the word of god on the pulpit.

distraction fallacies will always be distraction fallacies.

True enough. And if it was clear to honest, well meaning people, what that final word will be, we'd have only one religion, but we have thousands of variations. They duty, IMO, we owe each other is to respect those differences unless and until society attempts to impose a particular viewpoint on the rest of us.

In the case of SSM, my state of TX voted overwhelming to not allow it. Society DID speak. [for all the good it did]

So I am guessing you stand in Solidarity with your faction of Christianity when it refuses to marry those who have been divorced to a different spouse other than their first... is that correct?

Nope. Just homosexuals.

She had to take a class or get a licence to do it. My point was she was deep into the church.

That picture is sorta sexy. ;)

So then you are saying the christian church decides to pick and choose which tenements from the bible it agrees with?????

Those who bring up the other deplorable activities in the bible do so to show how disingenuous people are whey they use religion as an excuse for their prejudicial attitudes.

I'm not going to retract anything, and I wasn't aware I was in a contest with you to "win" or "lose."

Bottom line is I respect your view of marriage even if I disagree. Let's end it there. But if you need to claim victory of your beliefs over mine or billions of others, fine. You "win" a contest only you were playing.

Woot woot...

Mob Rule!!!

So you would be okay with legally allowing lynchings and wife beatings...... If that is what the state of TX voted overwhelmingly to allow?????

Nope. Just homosexuals.
Then it has absolutely nothing to do with religion, and everything to do with bigotry..

Glad you cleared that up.

People like you are the reason why it took so long for Jim Crow laws to be abolished.

Im sorry... I've seen nothing that stated that "She is to keep silent, lest she hath a license from thine church."

I think you missed my point.. Not a big fan of public policy choices based on, "The Bible told me so." If that's what the Bible tells you, great! If you want to make me live that way, you'll have to come up with something more.

And here all along I thought that the Episcopal Church was founded by the Church of England, but the Americans changed the name to the "Protestant Episcopal Church" after that unpleasantness back in 1776.

Fine for you to say, it sucks for the tens of thousands of faithful Episcopalians who have supported the Church all of their lives. The Episcopal Church's silliness has already driven whole diocese away with it's silliness "Remember all that stuff we told you before? Well, forget that." I hope the faithful continue to leave in droves and take their money with them.
There are plenty of "faithful Episcopals", including my family, who are fine with the Church's decision. Anybody who insists on holding onto archaic ideas of sexuality should leave the church as far as I'm concerned as they would poison the message of the Church with their prejudice and bitterness.

You twisting what Texans had in mind? That is a stupid argument.

Mob rule shouldn't be used as a justification to deny someone equal legal recognition.

Caine is a good name for someone with such hate in their heart. Killed any relatives lately?

You don't see much.... do you?

Is that a picture of your wife?
