50 soldiers killed in ISIS attack on Egyptian Army's Sinai checkpoints

Do you have any idea what might have happened had these actions not been taken? Either way they are irrelevant to the conversation.

We can only speculate on what might have happened if the US hadn't supported Saddam Hussain, hadn't supported the Mujahadeen, and had left Iran's government alone.

My thought is that there would be fewer arms and less chaos in the Middle East. What do you speculate might have happened?

I'll agree with your speculation. What's not speculation is that for all that military adventurism, things are pathetic over there presently. It would be hard to argue with all the regime change if we had nice quiet little free, open and happy democracies in Iraq, Egypt, Libya and Syria!! ;)

When and why countries may have supported Saddam over Iran or other countries should be mentioned. History, as some bright fellow once remarked, does not occur in a vacuum.
