So are the New Black Panthers (the actual Black Panthers went defunct in 1982). Nobody really knows how many people are in either, although estimates are "a few thousand," whatever the hell that means.

Yea it's a real disaster. Who could have ever forseen that a group that hates black people would co-opt a flag that merely represents the belief that black people are sub-human and should be owned by white people.

Your version of the "truth" is contradicted by every historical account I've read. If you want to convince anyone your view of the KKK as you remember if from a magazine published by a Confederate group represents the "truth" you'll have to work a little harder and provide some actual history, backed by links to credible individuals, etc. "I read it in a magazine once" isn't going to cut it as evidence of anything but how you remember that article.

So when did the "party of Lincoln" become so enamored with the Confederacy? Do I need to remind what the founders of your party thought of it?

FYI the publications of the Daughters of the Confederacy and Sons of Confederate Veterans use actual journals and writings from Confederate soldiers to back them up. So where is the "contradiction" again?

There was a concerted and organized effort by southern women after the war to white wash and glorify the South's participation in the Civil War. In fact, it was the UDC. But you probably already knew that.

Someone had to do, we women came to the rescue again. And yes I knew the Daughters of the Confederacy, an organization which I have been a member since I was 16 years old (the youngest age you are allowed to join) but it is not easy to get in. Just like with the Sons of Confederate Veterans you must prove your blood relation to a Confederate veteran to even be eligible

Then you must know the history of your organization and it's ties to the KKK. Did you learn most of your southern history from the UDC?

Some yes. It was how I found out that Grant was not the vicious jerk my granddaddy made him out to be. That he actually came to the rescue when Arlington was essentially stolen from the Lee family.

Except they are. As I have said before, the ORIGINAL KKK was to protect the South, because the police force sure as heck wasn't doing anything about it.
