Obama's approval rating grows following memorable week

It appears that all the victories last week have boosted Obama's approval rating to 50% for the 1st time since 2013. I guess more of us are proud to be an American.

I am always amazed by the fluctuation in approval ratings this far into a presidents term. Who the hell are they polling? Plus, the idea that SC decisions increase a presidents popularity is rather dubious. I think Obama has rather low ratings considering the state of the economy and lack of American soldiers streaming home in body bags. All in all it strikes me as rather meaningless, but it is what it is so good for him.

So tell me which Obama economic policy created private sector jobs? Was it ACA? How about the focus on increasing the minimum wage? How about his current stand on overtime? How about his EPA attack on coal?

You are looking for anything to prop up the incompetent you support but reality just goes to show how economically challenged you are. Still waiting for an answer to the question I asked you but as usual you ran from it.

I posted the results that explain my support of Obama and you failed to explain how you support a President that had negative job growth in 2 terms among a host of other failures. What is it about conservatives that makes them look at terrible results and see roses? Do you actually believe Bush's performance on the economy was satisfactory or are you just happy that he cut your taxes even though it directly caused the record deficits you now are crying about? Are you as partisan and self-centered as your posts seem? Sadly the world does not revolve around you bank account.

The results you posted are nothing more than leftwing talking points that are out of context and totally inaccurate. You don't seem to have any understanding of unemployment, economic growth, civics, or anything to do with foreign policy. When the debt skyrockets 7.6 trillion in less than 7 years, the GDP is stagnant, the U-6 rate is 10.8%, underemployment remains high how can anyone call those successes? When Obama tries to micromanage the U.S. economy by demonizing the coal industry, forcing private business to pay workers whatever they deem necessary, meddle in overtime rules and regulations and you support that, just shows that you are a typical liberal with no understanding of economics in the private sector

LOL...says the man who likes to cherry pick statistics and then isn't very good at it when he does.

Proud to be an American?

One of the most racist countries in the West. A country that - since 9/11 - has acted pathetically internationally. One that runs around the world, bombing countries at will (committing technical acts of war), detaining innocent people for over a decade, torturing others and flat out invading countries when they don't like their regime and almost always leaving the place FAR worse off then when they arrived. A country that is so obsessed with terrorism that it monitors it's own citizens private communications and limits freedoms and rights of those same citizens in the name of 'public safety'. A country that spends far, FAR more then all it's potential enemies several times over on defence - and yet much of America's population actually wants more defence spending. And despite this obsession with terrorism and the gigantic amounts of money spent to fight it, terrorist organizations are FAR stronger now then before 9/11 AND far too many Americans have become spineless and cower in fear whenever a terrorist goes 'boo' - even half way around the world.

A country which prides itself on 'free enterprise' is now one whose economy is practically run by bankers at the Fed.

A country which is broke and getting broker every day and whose economy is still stumbling along in mediocrity despite massive government stimuli and zero interest rates.

A country that is so incredibly backwards that it just now passed a same sex marriage law that is WAAAAAY behind the curve in the West International | Freedom to Marry Being proud of a country that now allows gay marriage is like being proud of your child for not bullying the neighbourhood children any longer. Sure, it's good he stopped doing it, but it was pathetic that he was doing it in the first place.

Before 9/11, America was a country to be proud of. Now, imo, it is a country that at the very least has lost it's way. And at the most has become a sad excuse for a great power.

Well, well, well, you have been challenged to provide those cherry picked statistics but like most liberals run only to come back later with the same claims. Prove it! you think predictions are facts and facts that are verifiable are predictions. You really don't have much credibility.

OMG....are you serious? You have been called to the table hundreds of times using your own statistics. You repeatedly make claims and post numbers and then shuffle, dodge and hide when people show you that your numbers simply don't add up. Sorry....I'll wait for you to post your same tired old cherry picked stats again and then I and others will once again show you that your numbers don't support your claims....before you run off and hide again.

So you believe a Democrat Congressional Representative who probably supported the war but now is looking for votes over the CIA? Interesting. What is it about liberal indoctrination that creates this kind of loyalty?

You couldn't be more obtuse if you tried.

I understand you are not too happy with President Obama's JAR, do I have that right?

Hundreds of times? then you shouldn't have any problem pointing out just one of those times and posting the cherry picked statistics you claim I post. I don't run from people like you as you aren't much competition

I support Gruber's claim that the Democrat electorate is stupid

Your history says otherwise con.

I support Gruber's claim that the Democrat electorate is stupid

You have to question the intelligence of someone who puts so much stock and becomes infatuated on the words of one individual, especially one who is of such minor significance. Too funny....

So who was he talking about in supporting ACA? How many Republicans voted for it?

He was talking about the American voter, here is what he said:

This bill was written in a tortured way to make sure [the Congressional Budget Office] did not score the mandate as taxes. If CBO scored the mandate as taxes, the bill dies. OK? So it's written to do that. In terms of risk-rated subsidies, if you had a law which said healthy people are going to pay in — you made explicit that healthy people pay in and sick people get money — it would not have passed. OK? Lack of transparency is a huge political advantage. And basically, call it the stupidity of the American voter or whatever, but basically that was really, really critical to get the thing to pass. Look, I wish ... we could make it all transparent, but I'd rather have this law than not.

Gruber nailed it but these same people he's referring to still don't get it. They still think they are the smart ones, which adds another dimension to Gruber's charge.

It doesn't appear to me that those who didn't support ACA are stupid but I do find it interesting that that is your interpretation. It certainly wasn't Gruber's whose role was to sell ACA and to do so he relied on the stupidity of the Obama supporters

[/INDENT] Gruber nailed it but these same people he's referring to still don't get it. They still think they are the smart ones, which adds another dimension to Gruber's charge.

That would be you.

Interesting take on Gruber which just goes to show he was right and was indeed referring to people like you as he wanted ACA passed. The stupid ones are the supporters not those who didn't support the law

Nonsense, it wasn't the American people passing the legislation, it was Congrass. You need a class in civics. ;)

Obama also understands they're stupid, gullible, easy to lie to and manipulate. MIT Economist Jonathan Gruber Had Bigger Role in Health Law, Emails Show - WSJ

Lol! while you stand proudly against the "Death Tax" and fight against "Government Controlled Healthcare"...all words polled and tested to fire up the rightwing base.

Gruber is right, the electorate is dumb and it's impossible to get anything done because politics and writing major legislation requires the breaking of a lot of eggs. The fact you seem to not get the fact shows which side you're on.

Those Congressional Representatives were elected by the people or didn't you understand that? So what you are saying is that Gruber was talking about those who didn't support ACA and was calling them stupid? So that is called liberal logic

So again, you believe Gruber was talking about those who didn't support ACA when he called the electorate stupid?
