Plastic pink flamingo creator Donald Featherstone dies - CNN.com


(CNN)—Donald Feathertone, creator of the iconic pink plastic flamingo that has decorated lawns for decades, died Monday in Fitchburg, Massachusetts, Cado Co. President Bruce Zarozny said.

He was 79.

"Donald's wife, Nancy, contacted us yesterday to say that Donald had passed away," said Zarozny, whose company now sells the iconic pink flamingos. "I met both of them quite a few times, and Donald was just a very, very nice man -- very creative and a nice person."

I'd like to take this moment to memorialize a man who put the "A" in America. We'd be just a bunch of Merican rednecks, if it weren't for his creative genius. :2razz: RIP, Don.

When we were receiving anonymous letters about our property from a concerned neighbor (no HOA for us), my wife bought a few of those and some yellow pinwheels to spruce up our contribution to property values in the hood.
