No, that's not the obvious answer.

You don't need "everyone" to go armed...just enough to go armed to protect the others.

In any case, are you willing to let people die just because you see such an attack as having a low chance of happening? Do you think the people who died would agree with you? Or what about the more than 300 people that Jeanne Assan protected? She wasn't the only one armed at the time, but she was the only one who fired on the nut-job. Maybe those 300+ people would agree with you that the chances are too low? Or, maybe you don't care that more than 300 people were likely to die...as long as it keeps guns out of law-abiding people's hands?

I think most Democrats know the Democratic Party was once racist and the Republicans were once the progressive party. I don't think most Democrats are proud of the history. When LBJ signed the CRA of 1964 things started happening.

LBJ and Democrats including Al Gore the Science Whore's dad fought AGAINST the Civil Rights Act....they filibustered it in Congress.


After LBJ signed it he said "Ill have those NIGGERS voting Democratic for the next 200 years". Only 150 years of the poverty plantation left for blacks to suffer with....

both the US flag and the Confederate flag are symbols of rebellions and treason when you really think about it...though i'm sure you're going to tell me it's magically different.

Ah, that old falsehood. The racist southern Democrats stuck with the Democrats because that was the party of subversive social programs and culling black folk in the womb. They never stopped thinking that blacks are inferior they just adopted the progressive ideal that white people need to fix black people. Their programs destroyed the black family and dismembered many millions of unborn black babies ensuring a dependent minority.

No, Republicans were classic liberals until progressives ruined the word. Democrats believe blacks can't succeed without white people holding their hand, Conservatives know that blacks are just as capable as whites. Democrats see skin color and think they know the person. Democrats are still the party of racism.

Sure, that's why most blacks in Congress are Democrats; Republicans try to suppress the black vote; Why Democrats JFK/LBJ wanted public accommodation as part of the Civil Rights Act of 1964; voting rights; etc

One represents the entire country and the other one doesn't. As you should know, the entire country did not fight for slavery.

the slavery issue is dead and gone... nobody today is fighting for slavery or racism.... but folks are surely fighting to ban thing like flags and movies( while simultaneously saying they actually support free speech/expression)

Banning by public opinion is free speech and so is protesting.

If slavery is such a dead issue then it shouldn't a problem to take down the flag that pro-slavery was fought under, should it?

The objection by the Republican to the wording of the Public Accommodations section of the Civil Rights Act (again, pushed by the classic liberal Kennedy and Republicans, not by the DNC) was that it ran afoul of existing SCOTUS precedent and could scuttle the Civil Rights act in a Supreme Court challenge. Of the 117 Democrats that voted against the Civil Rights act of 1964 only a handful, 5 by my count (Iris Blitch, Arlen Specter, Strom Thurmond, Howard Callaway and Charles Pickering), switched parties to become Republican, the rest of those racists stuck with the Democrats. That is a conversion rate of... 4.3%

Sooooo.. 95.7% of Democrat Congressmen who voted against the Civil Rights Act of 1964 stayed Democrat.
