A woman will appear on redesigned $10 bill in 2020

Do you think any woman in American history deserves it?

Think about this: Queen Elizabeth I supported Sir Walter Raleigh's idea to send expeditions to North America. Her attempts at establishing a permanent colony failed, BUT these expeditions permitted England to lay claim to a large swath of the Eastern Seaboard and set the stage for successful colonies at Jamestown and Plymouth just a few years later. She also supported the expansion of a blue-water navy that allowed her successors to protect and preserve these colonies and expand England's presence in the New World. I realize she wasn't American and is unlikely to have her portrait placed on U.S. currency, but she was a woman central to American history, more so than most of the men.

Yea I have a reputation of bashing politically correct nerds to uphold.

And one hell of a lot of delusions of importance, wit, and grandeur.

Whatever. Big whoop, as long as it spends who really cares.

Exactly.

You could put SpongeBob SquarePants on the $10 for all I care.

In fact, that is my vote.

I'd say we go halfway. Have women on one side, men on the other. Problem solved. There are what? Like 5 denominations that most people regularly use? Singles, 5s, 10s, 20s and 100s? Take those and put 5 men on one side, 5 women on the other. Nobody bitches about equality that way.

If you really want to go halfway then the person on the bill ought to be Caitlyn Jenner. :2razz:

(kidding btw)

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nancy_Reagan <~her "JUst Say No" campaign probably saved my life

It's funny, but Nancy would be an interesting one to go with and watch the reaction...

She's tied to Reagan, so I can imagine some liberals who would normally be applauding this because of "women's issues" would possibly suddenly throw a hissy fit.

On the flip side, I can imagine some Republicans, who would normally have a problem with changing something that has been a particular way for a long time for reasons that can viewed "PC", getting behind it because "Reagan".

No way in the world do I believe Nancy would actually be the choice; but of all the ones stated so far it'd definitely be the most entertaining one to watch occur

I listed her mostly because she is a personal hero of mine, but she would be a poor choice overall. Harriet Tubman or Clara Barton probably could have the best cases made for them, and Grace Hopper would be the coolest pick.

The female head should go on a $20 not a $10. Jackson did everything to try to destroy our system of economics while Hamilton built it!! I think Monica Lewinsky is the best candidate as she is the symbol of what our government has been, is today and always will be and accordingly, the color bill should be blue.

This is silly. No woman has ever really accomplished anything noteworthy in the history of the country. Rosa Parks?? HAHAHA. There are thousands of men more deserving.

Wow, a racist and a misogynist. Wonder what else we'll learn about you in the course of time.

SpongeBob would at least be amusing. You could look at your ten spots and go

They are borrowing money to the point of potential economic collapse, dividing the country politically and economically and they are worried about changing a picture on piece of currency? It boggles the mind.

Looks like the OP still believes in cooties.

I think that his point is that if you listed the 1000 people who are historically most important to this nation, REGARDLESS OF GENDER, Rosa Parks and Harriet Tubman would be behind a bunch of folks who haven't been on any currency.

I don't have a pony in this race but I don't know of any woman more deserving than Rosa Parks.

Similarly, the government shouldn't repair roads because ISIS exists.

If no woman is more deserving than Rosa Park to be on our currency then clearly no woman deserves to be on our currency.
