A woman will appear on redesigned $10 bill in 2020

Armstrong had a degree in aeronautical engineering, a Korean war vet, test pilot, and that whole first human ever to walk in the moon, etc.

Einstein became a US Citizen in 1940.

I hope you meant ON the moon. I don't think he ever went inside.

If we are going to do this, I'd much rather remove a scumbag like Jackson from currency, although my opinion of Hamilton isn't too high either. They probably chose $10 because unlike Jackson, Hamilton doesn't have a bizarre following anxious to defend genocide at any opportunity.
I would like to see Jackson off, too, but I'd want him replaced with a Native American Indian. That would be a special rebuttal to his repugnant ass.

As far as a woman on the $10 bill? Meh. Whatever. I really don't care one way or another.

Seems pretty dickish to remove Hamilton but keep Jackson.

This is silly. No woman has ever really accomplished anything noteworthy in the history of the country. Rosa Parks?? HAHAHA. There are thousands of men more deserving.

I hope its Michelle Obama only to see your head explode.

Sacagawea

Woman and native to replace jackson

Would it be racist if we put Obama on the penny, since it's a different color from the other coins?

Awww.....somebody is jealous.

How do you choose? There's so many.

Harriet Beecher Stowe

Sally Ride

Amelia Earhart

Harriet Tubman

Sacagawea (already been on a coin)

And on and on.....

I'd say we go halfway. Have women on one side, men on the other. Problem solved. There are what? Like 5 denominations that most people regularly use? Singles, 5s, 10s, 20s and 100s? Take those and put 5 men on one side, 5 women on the other. Nobody bitches about equality that way.

Oh, somebody would still bitch.

What would be the racial proportions, for example?

3 out 5 bills need to have black people on them. All in the name of tradition, of course. :2razz:

No woman has done anything worth being on our currency.

And yet... all of the women who come to mind have done things far beyond your capabilities... The contradictions of life that make it so flavorful. One of them is how men like yourself can put down hundreds of women who will be remembered a 100 years from now... while you won't be even be a footnote in somebody's diary. It's a delicious irony.

Every time this subject comes up I just want to remove all people from currency.

Have a bald eagle on one... Independence Hall on another... the Declaration of Independence on yet another... and so on.

That's not a bad idea, actually.

I remember thinking, (especially as a little kid, before adoption of the Euro), that the U.S. had really boring, plain-Jane-looking money. Everywhere else, the bills weren't only different colors, but sizes, too. I remember searching for pinkish-colored bills when we'd go somewhere new, before I could officially declare whether I "liked" it there, or not.

Aaaah.. Childhood. ;)

Something like this actually wouldn't be too bad. We should leave people to stamps and get them off our currency.

Shouldn't obviously sexist bait threads be immediately flushed?

Best suggestion I've read on this board in ages.
