I don't think so. Rachel went her own way and painted them out of her life long ago. Her parents were contacted by a news outlet investigating hate crimes Dolezal had reported that didn't add up and were asked whether Rachel was their daughter.

From KXLY in Idaho:

That story was broken by veteran reporter Jeff Selle at the Coeur d'Alene Press, where his editors were worried that a rash of hate crimes Dolezal was reporting in Coeur d'Alene might not be legitimate. When Dolezal told police the same type of racial harassment was happening after she moved to Spokane, KXLY and the Coeur d'Alene Press decided to take a closer look.

“I got all of the police reports she had filed in Coeur d'Alene, found out none of them were actually resolved and a lot of them were pretty curious,” Selle said.

Selle was also curious about rumblings he had heard that Dolezal wasn't even African American, especially after she posted pictures of an African American man Dolezal claimed was her father.

“We started finding all sorts of things that didn't add up. We laid it all out on a table and took a look at it and said we got a story here,” Selle said.

No clue. Someone said in another thread that it could be considered fraud if you checked the wrong ethnicity/race on applications(federal aid, loans,college, etc), but I never heard exactly how they defined any particular ethnicity/race.

Because they're her parents. The investigation was into the truths of her claims, including supposed hate crimes against her as a black woman in her younger days. Come on Ali, you know it's perfectly reasonable to check with the parents to verify something.
 
If Bruce Jenner lied about being a man and Michael Jackson lied about being normal why can't this white beauty say she is whatever she wants to be? Black women straighten their hair to resemble white women's hair. This ivory hottie never dyed her skin.

The police in Washington were investigating racist hate mail she allegedly received. Their conclusion was that she or someone else with a key to the box placed it there. in the course of that investigation, they talked to her parents, which is what started the outing.

BTW, anyone notice in the Today interview, that when shown a picture of her at 15/16.. She indicated she wasn't yet identifying as black.. But then later claimed she was identifying as black when drawing self portraits at 5 years old? God, this crazy girl just can't stop herself from lying.

Not really, I get a lot of news here and follow the links. Just a strange set of circumstances to have the police asking her parents what race she is, but if they did ask, I suppose they were prudent to answer.
 
Once the transracial person has undergone skin therapy to increase the amount of melanin, and gone through hair therapy to get that afro look, had a nose flattening procedure, then does he/she have to go to language school to learn to talk like they do in the "hood"? I mean, if you talk like Obama, are you really black? Seems you might have to learn to speak like Fifty Cent or Snoop Dog.

Interesting how Dolezal talks about being described as “trans-racial.” Perhaps this is the angle
she will run with.

I wonder what she means when she accuses her parents of “whitewashing” some of the work she’s done. Poor Rachel. Also interesting is how she claims that she lost her full-ride scholarship and TAship because “other people needed opportunities, and you probably have white relatives and that, you know, that can afford to help you with your tuition, and I thought that this was an injustice.” I don’t know what FERPA restraints Howard University is under or whether it will be able to comment, but I hope it can. How convenient for Dolezal if it can't, however.

She’s also a brazen opportunist and liar. I want to learn more, much more, about her claims of hate-crime victimhood and why all of the investigations were closed.

But I don’t expect her to give a straight answer. She’s very evasive. I think that she’s going to have glib, jargon-laden non-answers for every question and that she will continue to babble about the “complexity” of her race, more “complex, you know, than being true or false.” Sort of like how she acknowledges that her 16-year old self in the photo is "visibly" a Caucasian. :roll:

Being black was not an advantage except for possibly allowing easier access to the best players. (but only if you're very good) Black players faced major hassles and harsher conditions when traveling esp., from the police and hotels and restaurants in the Jim Crow states and were more likely to be underpaid or cheated by club bookers, music publishers and record companies and less likely to get exposure in the mainstream media. This is still the case black artists who don't play overtly commercial music.
 
There sure is a lot of hate for someone who (AFAIK) never actually harmed anyone, probably because people hate cognitive dissonance.

True. The problem is - black people won't accept her. So Leftists are left with either declaring one of the Key Identity Groups in their coalition to be a bunch of bigots.... or engaging in ridiculous twists.

My bet - they'll choose the latter and try to accuse anyone who points that up of trying to attack someone, bluster, and rapidly try to change the subject. Perhaps they'll accuse them of racism.

Well, but that's the point, right? Now you can choose to ignore physical reality, if you feel that you are something else. She has learned well the lexicon that the left uses to make that argument, and it's going to be fun watching them try to defend against their own reasoning.

From what I understand when Rachel filed the false police report that she received death threats because she was black, the Seattle police and the Seattle press got in touch with her parents and they answered the questions.

This was 100% caused by her craziness and nothing else.

The areas of deepest jazz popularity were often not in Jim Crow territory, but I'm not going to argue jazz musicians were exempt from racism. My point was only that among musicians (and critics) there was often an assumption that black musicians could "swing" in a way that white musicians just could not.

If it is perfectly acceptably for man to put on a dress,maybe cut off his penis and have a fake vagina put it, take hormones, get breast implants and call himself a women.Then it is perfectly acceptable for a woman to darken her skin, curl her hair or add hair extensions, check African American on a application and call herself black.

Rachel Dolezal, the white Spokane civil rights leader who was caught masquerading as a black woman, has now resigned as president of the NAACP. Her tale of using disguises to lead a double life has made international news but actually got it's start as a story in the Coeur d'Alene Press.
