Bernie Sanders wants to take back “family values” from the GOP

Your quote should more accurately read "Bernie Sanders agrees with 80% of republicans when it comes to government influence and money spent on political campaigns.

Seems to me that either way the GOP and Sanders are on the same page there!

80 percent of Republicans " agreeing " with B. Sanders is a bald face lie.

DOnt fall for the hook. He offered one tiny instance where Sanders agrees with most republicans. His position and the article cited is as stupid as saying 99% of democrats actually AGREE with Ted Cruz (that babies shouldnt be stoned to death by riverbeds).

See the next comment. Offering a tiny piece of information where they happen to find common ground and presenting that as being in agreement is completely dishonest.

You found a convenient link from a hack piece on a blog. Thats not news. It IS (or rather, SHOULD BE) embarrassing for you.

Re: Bernie Sanders lays out REAL family values platform

I've seen that one. Once again Sanders makes sense. Meantime Hillary is riding around in her van, faking a Southern accent and saying not a lot of the things that have no real value. Sanders continues to hit them out of the park.

Hillary and GOP candidates don't want to debate him.

It would be easy to debate Bernie. You just keep asking, "Who is going to pay for all that?"

The middle class, that's who. Or what is left of it.

And Sanders then tells you that the same people pay for everything - the American people - and launches into a stinging rebuke of the current tax reality in the USA which basically allows the upper class to enjoy the same or even lesser tax bite as the middle class and why we must change that so that it is far more progressive and has corporations paying far more than they do today.

Lots of working class people would respond to that very positively.

Just look how close the republicans and Bernie Sanders are on the issues. And you'll notice this isn't a blog source.

The CBS/NYT poll found that:

– 80% of Republicans believe that money has too much influence in our politics.

– 54% believed that most of the time candidates directly help those who gave money to them.

– 81% of Republicans felt that the campaign finance system needed fundamental changes (45%) or a complete rebuild (36%).

– 64% are pessimistic that changes will be made to reform the campaign finance system.

– 71% want to limit the amount that individuals can give to campaigns.

– 73% felt that super PAC spending should be limited by law.

– 76% thought that superPACs should be required to disclose their donors.

All of these positions are held by Bernie Sanders, and the opinion of the majority on each question is the exact opposite of the reasoning used by the majority of the Supreme Court in the Citizens United decision.

Poll Finds: 80% Of REPUBLICANS Agree With Bernie Sanders On Citizens United

You're misrepresenting Sanders, I believe he's talking about Wall Street and the 1%!!!! Not the middle class which will be the beneficiaries of a Sanders presidency.

Re: Bernie Sanders wants to take back “family values” from the GOP

President Sanders!!!!!

Re: Bernie Sanders lays out REAL family values platform

This is true. But it's a political battle of what's NOT said when someone invents this kind of talking point. "We are the party of Family Values" is not raising them up as much as it is them saying "That party over there does not have family values." It's ****ty. It's stupid. It's politics. And it works unfortunately.

Yes I agree but I just feel some many things like that are just pushed and accepted by extremists and biased people anyway(BOTH SIDES). Those sheep aren't going to change.

Obviously not! You cite him as agreeing with 80% of republicans.

(I know you understand how stupid your comment is)

But it's not stupid. I proved to you that you should be supporting him. I showed you the results of polling of republicans that support the same planks that Sanders does, which might be problematic for the GOP, but it certainly isn't for Sanders. ;)

It is beyond stupid and you know it.

Look...democrats voted with the GOP to rename a street. Obviously all the democrats are conservative republicans.

just goofy

That's goofy. I listed you out seven things, not one in which a majority of republicans share Sanders position! ;)

You listed several components on...campaign reform. But I'll go with what you say. Sanders is obviously a republican because he is in line with 80% of them.

Sanders is a mouse fart. For all the hype and support being shown him, he wont stand a chance of unseating Hillary, will put heat on her that wont be healthy, and will be shut down by the democrats long before he makes a dent in anything. Even if Hillary drops out he will be cast aside for someone like Webb or Warren that is electable.

Face it. All this REALLY means is that dems HATE having to vote for Hillary...and when the time comes they will belly up, swallow hard and do it with a smile.

The hell they will benefit the Middle class.

Destructive, retarded and regressive Policies like that kind that Sanders is proposing ALWAYS nail the middle class.

From his Global warming "solutions" to his proposal to borrow and spend this economy into prosperity almost everyone of his iniatives would wind up hurting the Middle class the most.

Nope, if Sanders has left you with the impression that the 1% would pay for everything then you have been misled. The middle class always pays for this stuff because that's where the bulk of the money is.

Democrats always say they are going to sock the rich, and then the middle class finds out they're rich. A person has to be a real dunderhead to fall for that every time.
