Cop Suspended After Arrests At Teen Pool Party[W:367:425****]

Re: Cop Suspended After Arrests At Teen Pool Party

But not if the good citizens keep filming, and the media keeps carrying the stories.

I do admit that most departments regs & procedures are stacked against the citizens, but little-by-little the pendulum can swing back back a bit. I suspect that's already happening - no departments want the political heat, loss of public confidence, and eventual financial loss that occurs when these videos surface.

Remember, the SC copper was just indicted on Murder - that's a big deal. You can be sure his fellow officers are thinking a little harder about what circumstances are appropriate to pull the trigger. And thinking a bit more conservatively, I'm sure ....

While I do believe that if more citizens video what police do, the situation will get better. My concern about the SC incident is that, while and indictment is nice......it's not a conviction. Indictment and conviction is two very very different animals.

Re: Cop Suspended After Arrests At Teen Pool Party

Cop did NOTHING wrong

These kids were trespassing, and were clearly not compliant. They deserved to be arrested and the young men who tried to jump in are lucky they didn't get shot

A Texas police officer has been suspended pending the outcome of an investigation after video surfaced showing one cop pulling a gun on a crowd of teens at a pool party while others handcuffed teenage partygoers.

Police on Friday evening were called to the Craig Ranch North Community Pool in McKinney, roughly 40 miles north of Dallas. McKinney police said in a statement they were responding to a disturbance "involving multiple juveniles at the location, who do not live in the area or have permission to be there, refusing to leave," and that some of them were fighting.

Cop Suspended After Video Emerges Of Brutal Arrests At Teen Pool Party

What we see is the lack of professional self control resulting in escalation instead of deescalation of events. Us policing is in really bad shape. Yes, that is so powerful, taking down a bikini-wearing girl. No doubt. BTW, did anyone notice the couple of guys roaming around in the video did nothing to help the kids or calm the policeman down?

Re: Cop Suspended After Arrests At Teen Pool Party

All the cops in question have to do is say the key phrase...."...I was in fear of my life". And somehow that usually justifies any action taken after that.

He was about to get jumped by those thugs. Cop did nothing wrong

Re: Cop Suspended After Arrests At Teen Pool Party

Arriving to break up the fight and disperse the trespassers--doing his job. Losing his cool and acting like a nut--not so much.

So he lost his cool and acted like a nut, which is not his job

And that's why you said "Cop did his job" :lamo

Admit it. You did a 180

For what it's worth....I was referring to the cops beating up the mentally ill man.

I actually looked at the video on youtube about half an hour ago. That made it pretty clear that the cop acted like an idiot. So, yeah---180.

Re: Cop Suspended After Arrests At Teen Pool Party

I'd say because he didn't maintain control of the situation. Cop did go a bit Rambo when it wasn't really necessary. Notice the other cops did not act like this guy.
His Chief today said, "He was out of control when he arrived on the scene, and continued during the incident.".

Source: CNN - 'Texas pool party chaos: 'Out of control' police officer resigns'

While the Chief used terms like, 'broke department rules & procedures', his actions were indefensible'- no mention was made of his lack of effective crowd control.

Now that these guys are getting bad publicity & weeded-out, the next question becomes, "What becomes of his fellow officers who standby idly, partnering in the rogue officers actions through their inaction"?

That might not be so excruciatingly critical in this case, but it often is in others.

Yes, I agree.

There are structural problems. (if there wasn't, there would less incidents and more convictions)

Re: Cop Suspended After Arrests At Teen Pool Party

Then by all means good riddance. Cops with a "flair for the dramatic" is just what we need to purge. Don't you guys realize that as a society we want cops to keep the peace, show up to a situation that's escalating towards violence or disaster, and defuse it, de-escalate it, calm those that are acting dramatic. Not show up doing cartwheels, yelling and screaming, f-bombing everybody with a "flair of drama" about them, pulling guns and acting the fool, which is what we've all witnessed in this video?

If you get rid of cops with a "flair for the dramatic" have fun with the explosion in crime.

I dont know why liberals think putting Type B passive ******s in uniform will make anything better. It will make things better for criminals I guess....

Hard not to see it that way when you look at the video. Of course, the kids acting like a mob played a part. But, the cop needs to be able to handle that without going Rambo.

Re: Cop Suspended After Arrests At Teen Pool Party

I mean all the kids who need to go back to their own part of town.

If I were renting an apartment in that place, and thugs from south Dallas kept showing up, I would not renew my lease, and I'm sure many share that mentality or else they would not live in McKinney. Therefore the property values go down. Is that fair to the owner of the building...now his investment is worth less because some punks wanted to use his pool that he built.

Your priorities are all mixed up.

If these kids want to spend time in a place like McKinney, they need to get jobs and start saving up

Talk about being mixed up. If you lived in an apartment property values would have little to do with you expect maybe lower your rent. I suspect that you live in an affluent white neighborhood that is afraid of black people. Don't worry, they don't bite.

Regardless, this cop...I mean ex-cop is now looking for a job!

Re: Cop Suspended After Arrests At Teen Pool Party

H"What becomes of his fellow officers who standby idly, partnering in the rogue officers actions through their inaction"?.

What happens is that you are going to get all officers standing by idly and societal disintegration.

Exactly what the radical left wants. How ****ing stupid does one have to be to think cops are the problem in this country? Probably the same people who think the US military is the root of all evil.

Let ISIS do their thang says the liberal. Dont yell at criminals says the liberal.

I feel bad for people that have to put up with young punks. Cops used to be the ones who were expected to take care of it. Now we are expected to just stand at the sideline while they dindunuffin.

It's unfair to the property owner, is my point.

Re: Cop Suspended After Arrests At Teen Pool Party

What I find amazing is that people think that this some sort of new thing. It's not!!!! Police have been doing this forever. They are just now being caught on video.

I've never thought that it's new, but I doubt forever either. Certainly catching them on video is going to be what puts an end to it.

It looks like you might be the next one under the microscope if you patrol like you talk here.

I really don't give a **** about your property value. If the reason your property is worth more is because your neighborhood discriminates against blacks, I would hope all the property values there go down.

No, what the liberals are saying is don't have the cops put their knee on the necks of teenage girls who aren't being violent.

Don't worry, there are people capable of remaining composed and reserved when warranted and aggressive when necessary; they're called "good cops".

Racially charged shootings all over America have received enormous coverage on television and now it looks like the police are being hammered. The situation in McKinney, TX is just the latest example of police being scrutinized. Is American losing respect for the country's law enforcement? We'll talk to two former law officers and whether the McKinney officer was over the line and if Americans aren't giving cops a fair shake.

It appears to have been recorded before the officer's resignation & the department press conference.

To his credit, he does state the officer was wrong to draw his weapon.

Actually they're just called "cops."

These other dip****s are high school bullies who figured out a way to continue to be assholes after graduation.

Those little trespassing kids obviously care about property value, otherwise why not go for a swim in their own dirty part of town?

These ppl should know when they're NOT WANTED

We haven't even begun to talk about the fact that most of the protestors are not locals from Texas, they're the same ppl who protested in Baltimore and Ferguson.
