Americans Continue to Shift Left on Key Moral Issues - GALLUP

Im conservative...I'm sure many would say 'far right'..and this doesnt drive me nuts at all. I have eyes...I can see. This has been going on for a while. Hell...its expected. It doesnt bother me in the least because I am not out in the world trying to coerce or force anyone to my way of thinking or to my belief system.

The difference is...the 'far left' sees this as 'progress'. I think society is devolving...becoming more corrupt daily. But thats OK. Live...love...be happy. I dont have to influence your world...I only have to influence mine.

WOW, holy crap. Ok, so expanding civil liberties is viewed in this conservatives mind as evidence that American society is "devolving"!!!!! Conservatism is about to be abandoned, left behind, buried in the land fills of yesterday.

Its not just about 'expanding civil liberties'. Its about a society that is so completely lost and devoid of identity they dont even know what to call boys and girls anymore. That sees a continually increasing number of its ranks chemically and fiscally dependent.

Not trying to argue with you. Like I said, man....live...love...be happy.

What this tells me is that after 250 years, we have finally gotten to the point where most Americans don't worry and get angry about things that have nothing to do with their own lives.

Well, bye.

Sure, you can certainly take that attitude, and it will certainly make your party "purer." With regards to winning presidencies, however, the Republican Party at this rate will have a major demographics problem.

I just post this because I see it out in the real world.

It depends on what "real world" you're in. In the "real world" of the well-educated and more-prosperous segment of society, they tend to refrain from having kids out of wedlock. They marry and stay married. The usual path is to go to college, start a career or business, and THEN get married and have kids, NOT have the kids, sign them up for Medicaid, and then start the career at Burger King.

I just post this because I see it out in the real world. The average person simply isn't purely socially conservative anymore unless you drive out into rural areas. Even in suburbia where social conservatism is still strong there's a great irony in that while suburbia social conservatism is still borderline radical, those same people are social liberals in many ways as evidenced in the data, which represents the great duality and deep contradiction of America. We are socially liberal yet want to live in a socially conservative setting at the same time. It's the very reason people move into the suburbs. For social conservatism. Then you have the irony of those very same people being social liberals. Very odd duality at work there indeed.
Really? I have never heard anyone say "Let's move to the suburbs for social conservatism!" I don't see why living in a residential neighborhood and being socially liberal is somehow a contradiction.

No, it is a society that picture things in more colors than black and white. There is more to humanity than cisgendered heterosexuals.

If you don't stand for something you don't stand up to anyyhing. If we compromise our core values then we haven't won anything

What's "ignorant" about supporting SSM? What's "ignorant" about being OK with sex between two unmarried people? What's "ignorant" about supporting reproductive freedom? What's "ignorant" about supporting or not supporting the death penalty? Tell me, clownboy. Take me down that rabbit hole.

Don't you get it? The side that goes 'Meh. Don't care if people do it as long as they don't bother me' is more ignorant than the side that depends on religion to explain their problem with all of the things in your post.

If fretting about what other people do with their lives is one of your "core values," it might be time to rethink those.

Core values, aren't always of value.
