Iraqi forces losing 'will to fight' against ISIS[W:452]

Re: Iraqi forces losing 'will to fight' against ISIS

In the same way you seem very content with murderous dictators.

Well, a nice rounded democracy would be preferrable (that's what I would be content with) to pretty much anything I've ever seen in the Middle East in my lifetime. But the U.S. Is impotent to deliver that. For all the U.S. Interference in the Middle East, I've never seen matters worse. So, sense we can't improve things, and all efforts have worsened things, seems obvious that we should leave things alone there, and let the region find its own way.

Re: Iraqi forces losing 'will to fight' against ISIS

You don't believe anything Biden and Obama say, you're just using that to further beat them over the head with. That's fine though, they were wrong on that as well.

Are you saying they deliberately lied, or they are just stupid?

I'm saying they were wrong. Whether they lied deliberately, accidentally, misrepresented, misunderstood, were wishful thinking, or were stupid is for anybody to decide.

Re: Iraqi forces losing 'will to fight' against ISIS

When it comes to Iraq, all I know is that Biden called Iraq a great accomplishment of the OBAMA administration and pulled out. Bush handed an Iraq won war to Obama that Obama has now lost along with all the blood and treasure. And now Obama is back in Iraq and losing.

Well, all you know is quite limited.

US won’t have to do it. There will be little to no reconciliation between Shia – Sunni-
The Iranians and their puppets will ensure that the persecution of the Sunni minority continues.
The Prime Minister, Haider al-Abadi has been effectively sidelined.
US sending more arm to Iraq, that they will sell, run away when attacked or use on the Sunni minority.
And the US could have stayed in Iraq till the cows came home.
The persecution of the Sunni under Maliki, was well known to the US after he was elected in 2006. 2 years before Bush’s term was completed.
Yet Obama lost a War that was won? It never was won.

Tell that to Biden and Obama, they said Iraq was a great accomplishment of the Obama administration.

Speaking of staying until the cows come home, we've been in S Korea sense 1950, that is 65 years and counting.

You're hanging your hat on the political expedience of the Obama administration, lol.

To the bolded. Another Pentagon excess. If South Korea, advanced as they now are, cannot protect themselves, that's pretty ridiculous. They could easily replace what we've got there.

In Germany longer. And that proves what?

Tell that to Biden and Obama. Hell Biden said Iraq was a great accomplishment for the Obama administration, and then pulled out. They have never said a word about S Korea, you would think after 65 years and counting we could leave. Notice though that everyone on the left says we had to leave Iraq but never a word about leaving S Korea. We stayed in S Korea all is calm, we left in Iraq and it's in flames and the fire is now a firestorm and we're back in with no end in sight nor is there a strategy to do anything.

Yep, so staying until the cows come home, is no big deal, we've been doing that for decades.

Yes, we've addressed this repeatedly. And why are you accepting this one thing that Biden said, and nothing else, hmm?

Re: Iraqi forces losing 'will to fight' against ISIS

And the vacuum created by removing Hussein from power sucked in al Qaeda and other Islamic extremists that have in the course of time grown into a formidable force menacing the Middle East. Bush's failure that once again innocent civilians are suffering for.

There was no vacuum. An elected government was in place.

Re: Iraqi forces losing 'will to fight' against ISIS

You are joking right?
You are aware how Maliki assumed the major Ministries, sold positions within the Army, turned a blind eye to Shia killing mass numbers of Sunni's.
And that is just a tad of how screwed up the place was and still is.
Yeah, you must be joking? Right

What a joke. A pro Shia government is no democracy.

What else has he said? Did I miss something, did he tell us we are losing in Iraq, and in Afghanistan. Did he say we should have never gone into Libya. Did Biden say "knowing what we know now we should not have ever left Iraq". Give me a hint of what he said that would suggest he did not lie to us or is he to stupid to know better.

Can I add N Korea in that there has not been a ton of fighting going on. And could it be that there are not a ton of fighting going on is because we are there and have been there for 65 years.

Reasons whay the US are there is clear as day.

And that would be to provide security.

But Obama pulled out of Irag, now it's in flames as well as most of the middle east, and now Obama is back in Iraq.

Exactly, however a vacuum was created when Obama SUCKED all our troops out.

Never said it did, but after WWII we stayed in countries to keep stability, unlike Obama pulling out of Iraq and now it's in flames and we're back in. Hillary what we know now would you have pulled out of Iraq?

The US are in Germany to act as a deterrent however it is also a hugely important forward operation base for you especially Ramstein . Those bases in Germany have been vital for the US in the last 12 years,

Comparing Japan, Korea and Germany to Iraq is not a reasonable comparison.
You are really reaching for justification.
Why not admit what the rest of the world does know- nation building in Iraq- AStan is a fools dream.
Asia is where the strategic interests of the US are, that along with, wait for it, Africa. Could be the worlds food basket.

Re: Iraqi forces losing 'will to fight' against ISIS

It proves that many of these people, especially in Germany, could have been moved elsewhere. It proves that the military is often required to maintain peace.

In fact in those places you mentioned, Nation Building is exactly what happened and people also said r=that Japan, Korea and germany could never be democracies.

D you really think that the Arabs are that backward?

When Germans complained about the military bases a few years ago the Americans said they would leave, until the locals realized just how much these bases meant to their economy.

What difference did SOFA make in Iraq? Obama wanted to leave and he did. SOFA was not an issue at the time and only became an excuse by the apologists later.
