Warren Buffett: $15 minimum wage will hurt the working class

Re: Warren Buffett Don't raise the minimum wage

Oh, for God's sake. How about just teaching them to READ?

And to speak proper English.
And to add and subtract.
And to multiply and divide.
And oh so many things that the liberal / progressive led failed education system fails to teach them.

Re: Warren Buffett Don't raise the minimum wage

We already have the government in control of 12 years of failed public education. Leave colleges alone.

Liberals should be apologizing for what they have done to schools in this country. :(

Hear! Hear!

Re: Warren Buffett Don't raise the minimum wage

I think I have answered this before in direct response to a very similar question you asked. Oh wait I did!!!
"Because I believe 50cents of $100 in stock which funds the providing of public education to everyone has a larger benefit than 50cents of the $100 in stock in private hands."

Thats nice.

its always easier to say money that benefits you when taken from someone else is "a larger benefit"

its what those who want others to pay for their desires always use as justification

if you don't drop out of HS
do drugs or hang out with druggies
or get knocked up before you get married

your chances of being poor is less than 5%

Re: Warren Buffett Don't raise the minimum wage

Because he supports DEMs?

I'd like to see Buffet become Rand Pal's billionaire I the GOP primaries.
Since FOX/rightists are out to sink Paul .

because he is a frigging hypocrite

he whines about the death tax not being higher and yet he is avoiding the entire thing

he whines about the death tax when he makes billions on insurance policies that would never be bought but for the death tax

he could pay his secretary the same way he compensates himself so as to avoid her being in a higher tax bracket but he doesn't.

he's a lying POS who the weak-minded lionize

Re: Warren Buffett Don't raise the minimum wage

Thanks, I know I just said this. Now how did me going to public school "fail" me?

English and grammar skills used to be held to a much higher standard than they are now. I make the occasional typo myself. I just found a certain amount of irony in a statement defending public schooling (supported with public/federal dollars) that contained a pretty obvious error.

Yea.... I think a boat load of countries would beg to differ, and many of those countries are ahead of us either in technical skills, and world education rankings...

Which countries? And how do they compare to this country? One can link a dedicated correlation between federal expenditure on higher education and cost of higher education in this country.

The formula is pretty simple and pretty straight forward.
I wonder why the Dems would rather prefer to have so many in poverty instead?
I wonder why the Dems aren't engaging and communicating this message?
(Naa. I'm really not wondering. The Dem's would rather have a captured voting block that remains poor and dependent).

Dem politicians are to the poor what pushers are to addicts

Welcome to the internet. Your example for how public schools supposedly "failed" me, is an internet comment on a political forum....

Take a look at world rankings based off educational standards and rankings, then take a look at the ones that guarantee free public university

Re: Warren Buffett Don't raise the minimum wage

If the MW were to be raised to $15/hr tomorrow, or even by the end of the year, it would cause some disruptions in the low value business market. This is why a gradual increase has continued to prevent potential shock, more so than it has kept minimum wages up with inflation.

No, it would cause a disruption all the way up the chain. For example, what happens to the guy earning $14.95? Does he get a nickel raise, leaving him on par with the entry level hamburger flipper despite his skill and experience? Is that how liberals define 'fairness?' Or is that guy making $14.95 gonna expect a raise on par with the rise in the minimum, taking him to $21.95? And if every employer basically has to give every employee a $7 per hour raise, what will that do to employment and prices?

Ok. Would you like to explain how not? Because, last time I said the exact same point (in which you just quoted) you just said it was gonna cause some sort of huge damage against the US economy, then refused to give anything to back up such statements.....

its what those who want others to pay for their desires always use as justification
Sticking with the same meaningless comments as always

I tire of people whose every solution is to tax someone else

"Education" purports to teach communications skills. Proper diction - to include grammar and spelling, as well as word choice -is a very important component of that. The fact that you obviously didn't proof-read your post (and your communicative statement, by extension) does reflect on your education.

Take a look at world rankings based off educational standards and rankings, then take a look at the ones that guarantee free public university

Who wrote the rankings?

Re: Warren Buffett Don't raise the minimum wage

Percentage. Paid a higher percentage.

That wasn't explained and it definitely wasn't the objective of that ridiculous attempt to push another left wing " inequality " false narrative.

Obama and Buffet both new who their target Demographic was.

Low information Obama supporters who actually believed his Secretary paid more in taxes.

Re: Warren Buffett Don't raise the minimum wage

well when you give them the solution to pay for it themselves they refuse.

yea they don't think about those consequences.

more than likely that guy making 14.95 will make 15.00 and that will be it.

Ok. Well thank you for admitting that you really cannot back your ealirer statements up and instead are just "tired" of a .005% tax on $100 worth of stock

I backed it up-I tire of socialists who want others to pay for what they want. that is what you advocate

so I proved what I said and you failed to rebut it

Ahhh yes. Grammar on the internet, the true test of public education!

Yes. You backed up your statement of the economic crisis you portrayed will happen because of this .005% tax on $100 worth of stock by saying "you tire".... Thats not providing how this will cause damage, but simply stating that you dont wanna pay it if you owe that $100 worth... Not really backing up your statement..

so I proved what I said and you failed to rebut it
What? That you dont want to pay the tax? No, I know you dont want to. I simply asked your justification for such a reason.. You didnt reply, but now you replied by saying "you tire" of paying, and now you say here that you "tire of socialists".

I said my opposition is to your belief others should pay for what you want

you claim that you benefiting from taking money from others is better for society

I couldn't care less. I tire of the mindset that demands others pay for what you want

and I doubt you can fashion an argument that taxing each stock transaction 50c on every 100 dollars won't hurt investors-some of whom aren't all that rich

Re: Warren Buffett Don't raise the minimum wage

Take a look at world rankings based off educational standards and rankings, then take a look at the ones that guarantee free public university

Then look at ours that guarantees 12 years of free public school and then free grants for college that people waste with worthless degrees or simply dropping out.

Maybe we should let those countries run our education system and keep our corrupt as HELL government out of it.

As a side note nothing is really FREE. You are paying for it whether you realize it or not. That is something that progressives/socialists usually cannot compute. Progressives truly are a scourge to this nation.

Re: Warren Buffett Don't raise the minimum wage

The left loves to post Warren Buffett and parrot what he says as the way things should be done.
https://fortune.com/2015/05/22/warren-buffett-minimum-wage/

well he just came out and made the same statement that other people have already acknowledged.
a $15 minimum wage will hurt middle income families.

His idea is to expand the EIC.

so less personal responsibility and 'skin in the game' is a better outcome. fascinating.

Re: Warren Buffett Don't raise the minimum wage

Ahhh yes. Grammar on the internet, the true test of public education!

You were defending the public education system that produced you..... with poorly communicated statements. You don't see the irony in that.

Look, I'm a product of public education. I'm not knocking public funding for education, when carried out in the right way. There also happens to be a strong correlation between increases in federal spending and college tuition. Even the NY Times ran a piece outlining this uncomfortable and unfortunate fact.

.... But, you have to admit, there is a certain poetic irony in what just happened.

Who conducted the studies? Many of studies have been done to show this.

Please, share a few.
