Exclusive: China warns U.S. surveillance plane

I've got news for you, if you think what China's doing is walking all over Obama, you haven't seen anything yet. And, neither Rubio, Bush, Walker or whomever else you manage to stick in the WH will be doing anything to China either.

I suspect we will have the opportunity to find out.

All we had to do was commit to our allies in the region and this wouldn't be happening. Appeasing power hungry nations like China will only result in more of this type of thing.

China knows they can walk all over Obama and they are right.

The US appeases other power hungry Nations as well. Saudi Arabia is ghastly and far worse than than most ME countries, they also fund terrorist and terrorize their own people...BUT the US has vested business interests and a huge American ex-pat workforce living in Saudi Arabia. We support Israel who most definitely is power hungry. There are Americans living in China working for US companies. What can the POTUS do to China and balance all of these dynamics? It is best to mind our own business, like other countries do and react if something is done directly to us. Fighting China over these small Islands is a waste of time and resources.

We were isolationist in the years before WW2 and look at how that turned out. Now, with international islamic terror, an exponentially more globalized economy, and the capability for rapid travel thats even more the case.

Its interesting that you are arguing for isolationism while citing our economic interdependence.

Not at all....it is impossible to be isolated and be prosperous. This is the type of economic interdependence we all should be focused on..not aggressive military action for every little slight or issue between countries. This is the civilized approach to international relationships. I personally, would like to see our tax dollars used for services that benefit Americans...not trillions of dollars spent fighting in countries who hate us...and are a lost cause and not worth the effort or lives of American Soldiers. Since we have a stellar and strong military...the world depends on the US to fight their battles for them and the taxpayers are tired of footing the bill for that. We would like to see a few of our tax dollars spent in different areas.

You appear to believe I am advocating letting bombs fall on China. Is that what you think?

Obama's weak? Given Bush's reaction to Russia's takeover of Georgia, what exactly do you think Dubya and Warmonger-in-Chief Cheney would have done to stop China?

Conservative wants to go to war China apparently.

So he is doing exactly what you want him to do, and criticized him for not doing?

Of course. Conservative's agenda is Obama can't do anything right. Short of war I don't see anthing Obama can do besides show a precense in that part of the world. And trade sanctions are out of the question.

One thing Obama is doing right is showing the fundamental failures of leftism. As for war-no, he can't do that right, case and point is Iraq where he's committed to an air war that by definition can't be won-and all while Baghdad is encircled.

Blah, blah, blah.

If the Iraqis can't defend their own country from some rag tag zealots they deserve to lose. I'll be damned we have to lose blood and treasure again to save their cowardly asses. At least the Kurds know how to fight like men.

And the fact that their shiite leaders continue to discriminate against their sunnie countryman and keep them out of the military doesn't help either.

The American people don't want a major engagement again in Iraq and our president is smart enough to listen to them.

Heres the news, we are going back in. Now-it may take a new POTUS, but its happening. Obama's legacy is surrendering the war on terror to islamists. :2wave:

"What!?!?! China told our plane to go away! Get the guns going! We will show China who is boss! Bring it!"

Oh and Iraq, are you serious? Yes war mongering (which got us into Iraq in the first place) is clearly the answer... Its so much an answer that many cant even justify the war in the first place, and when they do they have to disown that answer... Its that darn Obama! Clearly war, increased occupation, was the answer... But then why must "the right" also have to disown it at the same time? Why must some on the right though have to defend it? Why has something that clearly we got wrong, and clearly were mislead into gain so much support and some sort of justification? Why do some of you jump so quick to war? Why jump into something that lead to disaster so easily?

Again...what is your suggestion...more boots on the ground and another wasted 10 years? The American people wanted our solider's home...and he brought them home. When the Iraqi army took off their uniforms and ran like idiots, leaving military equipment behind for ISIS...in which we paid for did it for me. What else can we do for that region? and is Iraq worth our time and energy? We gave them a opportunity and they were too stupid to take it. The Iraqi citizens do not want us there anymore than our soldiers want to go back. The only way to win this war...is Arabs fighting Arabs. We did all we can do.

First off I wouldn't have lost the peace for politics like Obama. We are going to need to go back in, kill ISIS, and maintain a limited but sustained presence there. The message will be that we are committed to the war on terror, and can wait longer than they can.

Keeping in mind the context of the war on terror, this is going to be a very long war. Tragically augmented at times by attacks on the free world. Welcome to the post 9/11 world.

You've got a rude awakening coming young man.

um do are allies have clear rights to their contested borders if not we should not try to help them grab land

No. There are rules of distribution and they should be applied and if contested then in the appropriate courts. To build a base in contested water is somewhat aggressive behavior that standing alone would not be as threatening as the general patern that we see is.
