White House Promises to Bomb Ramadi Until City Retaken From ISIS

SA was the containment. Why would I accept you're version, whoever you are, over a consensus report by the nations intelligence services who concluded that the Iraq war was having the opposite of the desired effect. Think on that for a minute.

A consensus report by whom, partisans? You can find people on both sides of the issue whether or not today is Friday. How do you know what the region would be like today with Saddam Hussein in power? What you want to ignore is the opposite point of view as yours and because it hasn't turned out well, Thanks Obama, you believe you are right. The problem with people like you is that if you were wrong, hundreds of thousands of Americans would have been in harms way. People like you always have 20-20 hindsight and are never proactive on any issue especially national security

This is what the Arab world thought of Bush. Other than partisan smoke, what's your point? The Arab world has been disgusted with US policies in their lives and affairs for decades.

The focus of Mr Bush's efforts yesterday was public opinion in the Arab world. Edmund Ghareeb, a Middle East expert at American University, said: "The symbolism of it is devastating. Some of these abuses have taken place at Abu Ghraib prison where some of the worst abuses of the Saddam Hussein regime took place."

The president's Arabic TV offensive came two days after the state department compiled a devastating survey of media coverage of the Abu Ghraib scandal.

"This Greater Middle East that Washington promises is not a recipe for democracy, openness, freedom and respect for human rights; rather, it's a new formula to guarantee US control _ and a way to keep all Arab regimes humiliated and subjugated," a commentator in the Palestinian daily al-Ayyam wrote.

The Arab League's ambassador in London, Ali Muhsen Hamid, said he doubted that Mr Bush's remarks would win over Arab viewers. "They will not be persuaded, because they don't trust the Americans," he said.

Something you will never accept is that evil feared Bush and that is why our military respected him.

I am glad people like you aren't in charge of the security of my family. You would form a panel to deal with evil

It was a Bush era (2006) NIE report, if they were partisan, they were partisan right. :lamo

Sure, when we had 150,000 troops there the country was relatively stable. I guess you wanted the United States to maintain that kind of troop presence in Iraq indefinitely.

We've had troops in South Korea dating back to 1950 and no end in sight. I believe we have 30,000 troops there presently. I think the number to be left in Iraq was 10,000 and Obama is now keeping troops in Afghanistan. I think he learned his lessen from pulling out of Iraq, either way he's back in and in worse shape than if we stayed.

The NIE report was before the Surge and ignored the PC war that liberals like you want and always require. Glad you aren't responsible for national security

Yes, Bush was evil. And he caused a significant increase in global terrorism, opened up Iraq for exploitation by al Qaeda which morphed into the Islamic State in Iraq in 2006, right under his nose. He's being recorded as thee worst president in American presidential history.

THANK GOD I DONT HAVE TO TAKE CARE OF YOUR FAMILY.

Had I been responsible for national security at the time, you wouldn't even know what the Islamic State was.

It really is a shame that people like you cannot admit you are wrong. Your opinion is noted and those who claim he is the worst President in history have no credibility and have no idea what they are talking about. The economic and foreign policy results do not support your claim or theirs. Media can change the minds and hearts and have.

Yes, media was complacent too. The Bush lies have been admitted to by nearly everyone involved. Bush lied and a bunch of people died. Worst president in our history.

You really have no idea how our govt. works, do you? Ever hear of the Oversight committees and any idea what party controlled the Senate Oversight and Intelligence committee? Keep believing what you are told and allowing the left to make a fool out of you. Obviously didn't listen to Grant's link, did you? How about the darling of the left when he destroying Republicans?

Was the intelligence a deliberate lie and, if so, why and to what purpose? And if the intelligence was a lie, how does that make Bush a liar?

However, reporters based in Iraq on Sunday said that the ISF had fled Ramadi, reportedly leaving their wounded behind and abandoning equipment in a scene similar to last summer when ISIS fighters swept into the northwestern city of Mosul against little resistance.

I thought these boys are US trained and using US equipment. They sure do drop and run a lot.

They must be using ARVN rifles; never fired and only dropped once.

Salon.com!! LOL, tell me what exactly was the Senate Oversight and intelligence committee doing as they has the same intelligence as the President and always do? Again, you have no idea how our govt. works and willingly buy what leftwing sites like Salon tell you. Liberals keep their power by keeping their base ignorance. Gruber was right. Think but more importantly take a civics class!!

Salon reported. What does that have to do with Morell's admissions that the Bush administration misrepresented the intelligence that they were being fed to the American public??

Are you ever going to answer the question posed? What was the Senate Intelligence Committee doing as they had the same access to the intelligence as Bush. Did they misrepresent it as well to the American People? The Senate was under Democrat control or did you forget?

Why did Bob Woodward say about that intelligence?

Everyone has an opinion but the one that mattered was the Senate Intelligence Committee and Senate vote which was 76-23 in favor of the October 2002 resolution. Nothing apparently is going to change your mind because that is what you want to believe. You totally ignore history, civics, and the world situation at the time to spend all your time on something unconstructive as blaming Bush for lying. No such proof was ever offered and if it were he would have been impeached. You think the Democrats wanted their own words on the Congressional record? No, they wanted the issue, not the facts as has been presented and ignored by people like you.

I have equal criticism for democrats and republicans for support of the Iraq war.

The "Phase II" report states -- in terms clearer than any previous government publication -- that there was no operational relationship between Al Qaeda and Saddam Hussein, that Bush officials were not truthful about the difficulties the United States would face in post-war Iraq and that their public statements did not reflect intelligence they had at the time, and, specifically, that the intelligence community would not confirm any meeting between Iraqi officials and Mohamed Atta -- a claim that was nevertheless publicly repeated.

The bush administration deliberately falsified and misrepresented intelligence as clearly reported in phase two of the senate intelligence committees report.
