Sen. Kristen Gillibrand announces bill to help adoptive LGBT parents

And this does not change my response, this is an issue of people's maturity and ability to accept life style differences.

You expect children to be mature and accept deviant lifestyles are normal?

I am married to a woman. The point is that a lot of bigots out there want to dictate to orphans what kind of a family they can and cannot have, but they don't step up and adopt themselves. It's not easy to adopt, you have to submit to various home studies where social workers make sure you have the kind of home, family, and parenting skills needed to adopt. There is also a large financial cost and commitment to adopting. If a same sex couple in a loving and stable home goes through the arduous process of adopting, then why should they not be able to do so, particularly when just 1 in 100 traditional families choose to do so. Moreover, many of the same sex couples I have know that adopted, chose to adopt special needs. There is an estimated 150 million orphan children worldwide. They want a loving and stable family. Why do you want to restrict what kind of loving and stable family they can have?

We're only bigots in your mind.

There absolutely no evidence at those deviants have stable or loving lives. NONE

As a matter of fact, it is probably quite the opposite.

I love that equal rights are winning!

Whether its a bill like this, or SCOTUS ruling or when sexual orientation is protected nationally this is going to happen, no amount of crying or bigotry will stop common sense, facts and reality.

In the end Kids will benefit and be able to have more loving homes and families available to them. :D

Words can't properly express how satisfying it is to see humanity move forward and leave people like you behind.

Yes it must be a horrible life for this kid now forced to be raised in such a deviant family:

Life must be a living hell for this girl:

Those poor kids would have been much better off spending their childhoods in a place like this rather than being raised by deviants:

Again, that's only in your mind. This country is due for a renaissance.

God willing, that will happen soon.

You don't have a clue what goes on behind close doors or what sort of life this children will have.

These pretty pictures are just speculation.

IOWs spare me.

Forward thinking people will never allow your kind to drag us back into the middle ages.

Neither do you, and that is true for heterosexuals that adopt as well.

Then you don't know history. There have been periods in our past where the 'do what you feel like' immorality has been shunned and rejected.

Belief in superstition is on the decline in almost every county on Earth. The days of religious bigotry will soon be over and they're never coming back.

You don't have a clue what goes on behind closed doors in any home. At least with adoption, you have to submit to background checks and home studies before you adopt and follow up visits afterwards.

Seriously, why do you have such hate in your heart? You seem to be a religious person. When you pray, is this where you believe God is leading you? If there is a God, do you honestly think he would rather children grow up without a family rather than going to a same sex couple?

We have 3 kids, one biological son and two adopted daughters. Both times we adopted, we adopted special needs from China. In both cases when we adopted, when we got our daughters they were malnourished. In fact, our oldest daughter was so emaciated and malnourished that I was buying her ice cream 3 times a day for the first 2 weeks we had her while we were still there in China so I could get some weight on her. They both had intestinal parasites, the oldest had ear infections in both ears so bad her ear drums had ruptured. Neither of them were getting any education. Our oldest was 9 when we adopted her and yet had no education at all. That was their life in a Chinese orphanage. Had they spent their entire childhood there, upon growing up they would have had little chance at life as no one over there hires uneducated orphans, or marries them, and they sure don't if they are special needs as well.

So when I think about how few families choose to adopt, I think that any family that chooses to adopt, regardless of whether its a traditional family or not, should be able to adopt if they meet the financial requirements, pass all the background checks, and pass their home studies. When we say to a same sex couple they cannot adopt, what we are also doing is quite possibly telling a kid that they would have adopted in some overseas orphanage that they don't get a family, they can spend their childhood uneducated, malnourished, with intestinal parasites, inadequate health care, and then when they are adults, they will have no place to go and little chance of ever finding work much less forming a family of their own.

I am serious when I say this, you should really look at what the world is like for these kids and what same sex families are like for them if they are adopted and then make a decision.

I appreciate that post but do not expect anything from WCH. His worldview is very twisted and he isolates himself with only like minded people so he is not faced with situations that might force him to think otherwise.

One of the most deviant things children are likely to come into contact with are those dumbass stories in the bible.

What is this? A third party personal attack?

Say it to my face..

I always assume that most people ultimately are governed by their conscience and that if exposed to the reality of a situation, their conscience will guide them (assuming they have one).

I understand the US adoption system sucks and it forces those wishing to adopt to look overseas but, that has nothing to do with thrusting those children into, again IMO, a lifestyle filled with abnormal and sinful behavior.

Well I thank god that the US nor the adoption system is run off of your illogical opinions

If you only want children to go to non-sinful households, then there won't be any adoptions. Basically what your are saying is that even if a kid that would have otherwise been adopted by a same sex couple ends up a prostitute as an adult, then that's still better than them having grown up with same sex parents.

My good conscience and faith tell me that these people will not be good examples or parents.

What the law intends is to make it where sexual orientation and gender confusion can not be used as qualifying or non-qualifying attributes. That is political correctness run a muck with no hard evidence to support it's need.

What other depravity will be the next to qualify for adoptions?

Absolutely. It's goes with my point. Why wouldn't a conservative support full LGBT adoption over relying on the foster program that much more?

Because the foster system is a thing of state and local government. You have the liberal's classic weakness, you cannot seem to remember that state and local governments exist and represent the people more directly.

No I said IMO it would be abusive to send them to a home of homosexuals or transgender parents. You assumed all the rest.

Uh... no I didn't.

If they don't go to normal [every child needs a mother and father] people's homes, it should be classified as child abuse IMHO.

Being an orphan isn't them going to a "normal", as you put it, people's home. So by your own words, being an orphan is child abuse. Just trying to clarify because your words are pretty straight forward it seems.

And that doesn't address anything. Thanks for playing clown.

I expect you to be mature and stop this silly abuse nonsense.
