Sounds good to me. Is there a rational reason to not support this?

Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand announced a bill Sunday that would remove legal barriers to adoption by lesbian, gay and transgender parents. Gillibrand (D-N.Y.) said she will introduce legislation this week that would prohibit discrimination against adoptive parents. The Every Child Deserves a Family Act would prohibit any entity that receives federal funds from discriminating against adoptive or foster parents based on sexual orientation, gender identity or marital status.

From hack progressive " renewable energy " articles that are composed of a bunch of made up #s to a post on the low life trash that is Kirsten Gillibrand.

You're on a roll.

She stood behind the Rolling stone's attempt to attack a bunch of innocents students via a false rape allegation.

Even after it was exposed that the girl LIED Gillibrand expressed that it was important not to attack the " victim ".

Shes as bad as it gets when it comes to corrupt Politicians who are blinded by their ideology

This thread ALSO belongs in the Partisan section ( trash )

Shouldn't the kid get a vote before they're shipped off to some he/she's home?

None of that has anything to do with the proposed bill. Feel free to actually add to the discussion at any time.

Definitely for it. Conservatives should be too if they want to help work on emptying the orphanages or any such government assisted programs.

They should get as much of a vote as the kids headed for any other home don't you have think?

If they don't go to normal [every child needs a mother and father] people's homes, it should be classified as child abuse IMHO.

I personally know about ten kids who are being raised in homes with same sex parents. All are happy, reasonably mature for their age, social, and otherwise very well adjusted. Not every kid from same sex homes will be so fortunate, mind you, but not every kid from opposite sex homes will be so well adjusted either (for proof, visit your local walmart).

It logically cannot be considered child abuse if children are being raised successfully and, as I mentioned, they are. It cannot automatically be considered abuse because successfully raised children do exist, including my own (my ex wife and her girlfriend). In fact, the biggest issue I've seen among these families, is in one, the parents are a little too lenient with discipline in my opinion (the kids are a bit too willful), but that is still far from abuse.

I was abused growing up, I know exactly what it is like to be beaten, neglected, and manipulated. Please do not use such dire circumstances so lazily going forward.

Why do you believe that?

IMO being an orphan is hard enough without having to explain to the other children that your adoptive mommy use to be a dude.

So putting a child into that environment, IMO, would be a form of mental abuse.

Perhaps a rational reason would be that we are supposed to be a nation of fifty states. One size does not fit all. So if people in a state agree with the senator, then they have every right to pass such legislation. If however the voters of a state do not agree it should not be pushed down their throats.

It could be we are at the point where we should hold a referendum about abolishing the states.

havent read the bill but as long as the bill is only removing discrimination based on sexual orientation, no . . . . . theres no logical reason to not support the bill

Its probably not needed because equal rights is coming one way or another but I support it if thats what its about.

Kids need sound loving homes and sexual orientation is not a logical reason to deny that.

You clearly don't know what is being discussed here.

Umm, wanna explain to me Ms. Gillibrand how exactly sending kids to single parent homes is good for them? While you're at it, tell me how sending kids to transgender homes is good for them.. What is the UPSIDE to this compared to oh I dunno, keeping it as the model that kids should have an opportunity for both a mother and a father that want them.. If it ain't broke comes to mind.

Tim-

It is broke; that's the problem. Foster care is absolutely horrible for children. Any financially stable parent(s) that would like to care for a child will be a better alternative.

That's not a humble opinion at all.

exactly common sense where people choose to run from it.

Sexual orientation or being a single parent ALONE is no reason to be disqualified . . . . thats just asinine
there are already standards set by MEDICAL professionals that are used to determine a healthy home . . . .the rest of the made up bigoted nonsense needs to go away.

Foster care is a life saver for kids so please stop your hate for people who want to rescue kids

sounds great to me.... though I was unaware this was actually a problem in need of a solution.

Kids are better off by far in foster care than in home (not a family mind you) with two moms or two dads

Foster care is better than living on the street and living with a financially stable adult that wants to raise children is better than living in foster care.
