Boston bomber Tsarnaev sentenced to death for 2013 attack

He won't. Suicide denies him entrance to heaven.

He must be slain by his enemies in order to be ASSURED a place in heaven.

He's a weak-minded young, even immature possibly, man. Alone. Facing a crappy quality of life up to an execution. I wouldnt be surprised if he took that way out.

The revenge-types will love this.

I am against it and all killings by the state in the name of 'Justice'.

Throw him in jail for life...protect society from him. But don't kill him.

The death penalty is for the ignorant and the weak, IMO.

Btw, I wonder how many Bible-thumpers will approve of this/any execution? You know, with that 'Thou shalt not kill' stuff and all.

No doubt they will find a Bible loophole.

this has Nothing to do with revenge but everything with a just puntschoenen and an effective protection of society from an unacceptable danger.

I would be shocked if he did. Faith is a powerful thing. Especially blind faith.

Thank Goodness--Shannon Bream substituting for Bret Baier on FOX.

With their first story on the AMTRAK crash, certainly an ongoing tragedy.
The radio frequency issue, etc.

And now the Boston bomber.
After listening to the review of what he did, this would have been an issue decision for me to vote YES for the DP.

FOX Baier has already moved on to British terror--just FYI.

This remains my favorite hour because they don't linger on one story and don't talk over each other .

Either way....

Justice has been served. No matter how you sit on the death penalty debate, you can't deny that one way or the other, we have insured this man will never be able to harm others (outside of prison) again.

For that, we should all be glad.

I have never understood why the death penalty is considered a more just punishment than life in prison. Life in a supermax prison DOES suck. Death is just a dreamless sleep. No suffering, no regrets, no nothing. Just like before one is born...nothing.

People kill themselves to escape dispair. We often feel relief when a loved one suffering from a terminal and painful disease finally passes away, not because we want them gone, but because they are finally no longer suffering.

Euthanizing one's beloved pet when it is in incurable pain is considered a kindness by most people.

And now we are going to extend this same kindness to a killer rather than make him endure incarceration for the rest of his life.

I don't get it.

I just don't get it.

Are you eager to pay for His medical care and all necessities, As Well As legal counsel, for many decades to come and to take the risk of escape, hostage takings, etc?

What you are suggesting means a complete change to the entire way of life for a demographic of very wealthy, powerful people; defense attorneys.

In other words, your hope is quite the long shot.

of course and I agree.

One can hope and work through elected officials to have the laws changed.

I think some will view him a martyr because he is being put to death.

First, I am not the least bit worried about him escaping or taking a hostage. Not the tiniest little bit.

As for the money? I don't know how many pennies or fractions of a penny it is going to cost me personally to punish this monster but I will consider it a bargain.

The death penalty is barbaric. Hopefully, by the time his appeals are over, the death penalty will be abolished at the federal level.

The death penalty is an issue that divides DEMs much more than it does GOPs, as you can see in this thread.
GOPs like to puff out their chests and show how bad they are--the party of family values.

I prefer a more measured response.
The bomber made a choice--he is responsible for knowing the laws of Massachusetts--not exactly a conservative state.

A jury of his peers has ruled--if this survives appeals, a process that needs overhauled, I prefer the Chinese method.
Quickly--the KISS method--don't waste our money housing him in jail.
A bullet to the head and a $10 bill to the family of the murderer, if one can be found .

The blinder the faith, the weaker the mind.

But the stronger the cognitive dissonance.

Having a weak mind is not the same as having a weak will. And make no mistake, faith can grant people the will to do great or terrible things, where before there was none, or at the best, were it was lacking.

It took will to do what this kid did. A stern, and resolute determination to follow through. The word unyielding comes to mind. I don't say this to impart respect, only understanding. You or I? Let's say we had a dream last night and in that dream God commanded us to kill a bunch of people. Would you or I have the will to follow through on such an order? Or would it be the FAITH that would ultimately impart that resolve to do such a thing?

Now, it's not all faith, in this case. Personally, I think this kid is a bit messed up in the head, beyond just his faith. But my point is, he followed through on an act to kill and maim innocent people, and then continued on with further plans, up to killing his own brother. All, presumably, for faith.

No, this person is not going to throw all of that away now, just to get out of some hard time. He's doing this to get into heaven. Why would he destroy his chances now?

The guy is a total *****. He couldn't manage to take any hostages, nor is he smart enough to escape. He was too dumb to realize the Boston Marathon would be filmed and he tried to get away in a boat that was on land.

Are YOU eager to pay the millions MORE that it will cost beyond those things you have listed to get the needle into his arm?

No--I would prefer him dead tomorrow.
But our appeals system needs overhauled.

Until then, he must be made to work his costs off.
An internal chain gang or rock pile would suit me--since righties are puffing out their chests on this thread .

The problem there is, whatever work they do, so long as it has value, takes paying jobs away from people that need them. That's one of the reasons that sort of thing isn't done anymore. Well, that and the corruption involved.

Russian prisons are pretty extreme and unpleasant, and very strict and structured. US prisons seem to be riddled with more crime and gang activity. Maybe I am wrong, but that's how it looks on the surface to me.

So my guess is Sister Helen Prejean's testimony to play on the sentimental feelings of the jury didn't work as lethal injection will be in this bastards future. He'll be most likely transported to a supermax, spending 23 and 1/2 hours in his cell while his lawyer no doubt will start the grind of appeals. Hopefully within a relatively short decade and a half - he'll get the needle, assuming the laws don't change between now and then.

And that should only take 30 years to come about.

Yet these prison jobs aren't likely to be ones MOST Americans will do.

As I've mentioned, the whole Appeals system needs overhauled.

Just another issue that could be tackled by Sen. Coburn's Constitutional Convention.

In which I believe DP should be a federal issue, not a state's rights issue .

Yeah. They are riddled with crime AND unpleasant.

I'm in the same boat, bob.

No longer affecting life IS death, as faar as I'm concerned. And when you're behind bars, you're no longer affecting life.

This is always funny to me. When post after post from anti DPers, calling the DP "barbaric" and lamenting the very existence of anyone who actually supports it, fails to guilt us into opposing it, it always turns into it's actually prison that's the truly harsh sentence.

Ok, have it your way, shame on you both for condoning the barbaric and cruel punishment of life in prison instead of the humane punishment I support. You're heartless and horrible people, unlike me.

Hey, righteous indignation is fun.

People are killed by other people every day. Very few of them deserve it as much as this guy does.

Lethal injection is so 1982. I say drown his ass in a vat of lukewarm bacon grease.

Im sure the left feels he's a nice guy "deep down".

I say sleep tight sucker. I'd pay for the bullet if it was an option.

Once again, you display your blatant ignorance of what "the left" thinks. I am Jack's complete lack of surprise.
