Boston bomber Tsarnaev sentenced to death for 2013 attack

No, that is riduculous and you know it. the fact that you resort to this sort of thing shows you have no real arguments.

actually I know far more about the criminal justice system than you do and its more costly to kill this turd than it is to lock him up for life

The process to kill someone is expensive due to the excessive number of appeals, and the cost of housing someone for 20 years while they do all the mentioned appeals. If we were to execute within 1 year of conviction you'd probably find that the death penalty is far cheaper.

true but if we both had wings, we wouldn't spend so much on gasoline costs either

The mother of Dzhokhar Tsarnaev - Zubeidat Tsarnaeva - posted some messages on VKontakte (the Russian Facebook) after her sons conviction. One of the messages (in Russian):

Trans - Allah is the greatest. His decisions are the greatest. Inshaallah to him we belong and to him we will return. They think that they are killing us and they celebrate this, but we are the ones who will rejoice when Allah grants us the chance to behold them in the flames of an eternal and terrifying fire, an otherworldly flame, inshaallah.

I love my sons. With this love I will stand in front of Allah. Thank you dear and may Allah be happy with you.

That b-tch raised a mass murdering terrorist freak. I noticed she didn't mention the people her son killed.

That is simply not true.

It isn't because one doesn't count the actual costs of keeping somebody locked up for the rest of his/her life (including the cost of housing, feeding, and guarding somebody for 50+ years, the cost of their medical care, the cost of all legal proceedings and hearings they may have during that entire period, etc.)

really? what proof do you have

and it takes years to execute someone so you are paying 20 years of that upkeep on death row plus all the appeals

First of all, it doesn't necessarily take 20 years. In any event you are arguing that it is cheaper to pay for 50+ years of upkeep (including in old age) including all the legal procedures, hearings, etc. during that period than to do so for 20 years. Have you ever tried logical reasoning?

the legal proceedings on a LWOP are quick-in the federal system, they can file only one collateral attack after the direct appeal is denied. have you ever actually litigated a federal criminal sentence

I have-at least 100. look up a 2255 petition and get back to me

So according to you inmates who are sentenced to life in prison have no right to file any legal petitions or institute any legal proceedings of any kind? And you claim to know the criminal justice system?

Why stop there? We could go the Chinese route and execute within 1 week!

They'll have one less martyr to motivate them. That counts for something.

But they have someone to use when bargaining for the release of our people when they are about to execute them.

It's lose-lose.

You don't get it. No one "rots" in prison. They are pretty well taken care of for the most part. And if ever were allowed into general population, would be treated as a hero among the Islamic converts.

So rather, reform the prisons and then remove the death penalty?

I'm going to have to read that over a good thirty times before I can comprehend it...

With our luck, the little ****er will decide he wants to be a woman and the govt will pay for his sex change operation.

Or he'll get a kidney or a liver that should go to someone else.

screw that. I say as soon as the judge determines the sentence, the bailiff carries it out within the next 30 seconds. better yet plant a bomb in the courtroom and have it set to go off at the end of the trial. if acquitted, then we can worry about disarming it.

Not at all--especially since it was a GOP governor in Illinois who did away with the death penalty.

And then went to jail years later for bribes for licenses as Secretary of State.
The death of an all-white family of six from a Milwaukee suburb sealed that deal.

I support the legal systems of states--Massachusetts isn't known for its conservatism, is it ?

This was a federal case. The state had nothing to do with it.

A great way to guarantee an almost 100% acquittal rate!
