Professor regrets calling white college males 'a problem population'

Incoming professor regrets calling white college males ‘a problem population’ | USA TODAY College

Yet, still is going to be teaching at Boston University, which is ridiculous. It's pretty obvious she hasn't exactly put in the level of academic research into her b.s. statement in the first place (hint: it isn't white masculinity that is the problem for American colleges, it's a culture of boozing and sex).

Anyways, the biggest issue, how can she be expected to be impartial at all in the classroom? Hell to even give all the "nuance and complexity?" When you go so far as to avoid white businesses during MLK week, I fail to see how you can be expected to give students fair treatment in your classroom, especially if they dare disagree with what you believe.

yeah, I would expect a professor of sociology to speak a little more eloquently on race. that's pretty ridiculous. I know that as a white male, if I had any classes scheduled with her I would switch out of them immediately because it really does seem like she's already destroyed any chance of having an open, accepting environment in her classroom. I would immediately feel uncomfortable knowing that she sees my white masculinity as the problem for America's colleges.

Name something that matters.

It is more likely or not that a while male invented, created, or produced that. In fact stand up...turn around...and sit back down. I would bet that everything you just saw exists because of a white male.

algebra

edit: oh yeah and agriculture

It brings me great joy to see everyone ganging up on my and Im still winning the argument.

"but...but...but...windshield wipers and peanut dye!" :lamo

Math.

You lose. Pack your knives and go.

This^^^

She has no business what so ever in the classroom. The values that she preaches divide, exclude, and only serve to perpetuate the cycle. If she really gave a damn about making race relations better she would be working to unite people, not divide them further.

I agree :)

“Every MLK week I commit myself to not spending a dime in white-owned businesses. And every year I find it nearly impossible.”

Maybe if *YALL* would stop constantly burning down your own communities, it would be easier to satisfy your racist shopping needs.

Not them alone. Civilization developed in various places.

All of the first nation/state or town/state civilizations sprung up throughout the Fertile Crescent (Eridu in Sumeria was the first known city). I have, however, read accounts that the first glimmerings of civilization stirred in southern Turkey. Shrug. But it was the Egyptians who first made civilization cool.

Every race has done "horrible things" in the past. Hell, the horrible things that white people were done concurrently with the horrible things black people did to themselves!!!!

There were black slave owners! The FIRST slave owner in America was a BLACK GUY! Why isnt that in kids textbooks????

Look at what Muslim terrorists are doing today....look at what blacks are doing today with Boko Haram and the genocide going on in Africa....there isnt even CLOSE to a WHITE equivalent to that today. Whites are the most gentle, welcoming, and tolerant people in the history of the world.

Apparently someone has never heard of the Nazis and of the Holocaust. Read a history book for reference.

I ignored that one as being too low hanging fruit even for me.

I'm never one to ignore smashing a pinata when I see it.

Well, sure. It's like running over a little old lady in the street: It's not worth a lot of points, but you've still got to do it.

Exactly. It is worth extra if you nail her shopping cart, too.

You are unaware of Chinese Civilization? Or civilizations in the Indus Valley?

As a noob asst. prof, she's surely going to be burdened with teaching the intro. to sociology class, and if so, she'll have random students taking care of degree requirements. When she teaches her little niche courses and generally speaking, she will have only students who share her interests. I don't know how many black men are going to be interested in her theories of what's wrong with them either.

You guys should really learn how to read, or something, because apparently "civilization" is a modern invention (not really an invention anyway but Ill play along) and the Holocaust is happening today.

Welcome to the year 2015 gentlemen. It is neither BC nor is it the 1930's and 40's. Read guys, READ.

Who invented reading, by the way?

If memory serves I may have heard those names somewhere before. Are you saying there's a city (not merely a settlement) that predates Eridu (roughly 5400bc)?

Civilization wasn't an invention either, huh? Wonders never cease.

Who invented human nature?

No, youre right....humans didnt enjoy the company of other humans until someone invented relationships. Who invented sex?

In order to have true civilization in the modern sense one would need a government, bureaucracy and a code of laws, all of which requires writing. The Sumerians had this first as cuneiform, which predates any other system of organized writing.

Oh, that's another one for you, wsuwarrior, the Sumerians invented writing.

Not a modern invention (as I pointed out specifically in my first post)...dont care.

Who invented the atmosphere?

Writing is no biggie either, huh? Lol. I guess the invention of law is also irrelevant. Certainly can't see how that applies to anyone living today. Since I and others have pointed out numerous modern inventors and you've dismissed all of them as irrelevant, you're going to have to share with us your personal definition of relevant, because I don't think any of us can figure out what that is for you. It's also entirely possible your definition of "modern" is unique only to you.

No, but I am saying that it is pretty ignorant to try to argue that all of human Civilization arose from one source in one place.
