Krista Eve Morton, 45, of Wellington, principal of Mavericks High of Palm Springs, was arrested Wednesday after police got a call reporting suspected sexual activity in a parked car. North Palm Beach Police arrived at the parking lot to find a half-naked Morton and an 18-year-old male student in the back seat of her car. While questioning the pair, it become apparent that sexual activity in a public place wasn't the only law being broken in Morton's back seat; they also noticed a strong odor of marijuana.

A subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in the finding of a yellow plastic bag that held a container with less than 20 grams of marijuana, as well as a lighter and rolling papers. Only after Morton and the 18-year-old were placed under arrest did police find out that Morton was the principal of the school the young man attended. The police report says Morton — who told police she picked up the youth because she was lonely — was discovered in the back seat of the vehicle "her shirt unbuttoned exposing her shoulders and part of her chest." Morton was released from the Palm Beach County Jail on bail while the student was being held on $1,000 bail. The school said it suspended Morton pending the outcome of the investigation

Honestly, whether it was an attempt at humor or the injection of politics into this thread it was an epic fail.
 
Well a search shows the age of consent in Florida is 18.

The position of authority may be the principles downfall along with the drugs.

And why exactly do you think a principal having sex with a student is different than a President with his dependent intern?

This is no one's business but theirs as far as I am concerned.

Both are over 18 and pot should be legal.

Unless it can be proven she blackmailed the guy to fool around with her - then I don't really care what they did together and I think the matter should be dropped (but I realize most people are too uptight for that - and I do not care that marijuana is illegal).

Think of it as DP's version of Godwin's Law. No matter what the thread subject is, as the discussion goes on, the probability that someone will introduce Obama or one of the Clintons approaches one.
 
I really think it a shame that people take these things lightly and even joke about it. Just imagine making some of these same comments if the priciple happen to be male and the student, female. You would certainly be called all types of names as well as risk your reputation if anyone could ever identify you. Yet when these incidents occur and the roles are reversed, its fair game for all kinds of sexist remarks.

This teacher should have been fired immediately. There is no good reason she could possibly come up with that would explain away her being in the backseat of a vehicle, nearly half naked, with drugs and a student. If this were a male principle, there would be protests outside the school to fire the principle and probably national coverage. Instead, we see a news article published in a local source which probably gets very limited exposure.

Figures. Its these types of things that cement the idea in my head that when feminists want equality, they only want equality when it favors them. Us men can have our male entitlement everywhere else where it is undesirable to have it.

Seems like simple research for the liberal academic position that young people today are more sexualized at a younger age and therefore require more in depth knowledge and training in safe sex practices. Or perhaps, this being an 18yr old student, it could simply be a graduate class or perhaps a year end, high school exit oral exam.
