Amazing how influential conspiracy theorists have become in today's America. A wacko guy like Alex Jones now has the power to convince thousands of Texans that a military exercise is nothing more than a front for the Marxist Kenyan's attempt to create a dictatorship. The political pressure now has Greg Abbott ordering his Texas State Guard (not the National Guard) out to keep watch on US military personnel in Texas.

Texas governor orders troops to 'monitor' Jade Helm

Texas Governor Greg Abbott has ordered members of the Texas Military to monitor federal troops in an upcoming two-month training exercise planned for the Lone Star State.

Operation Jade Helm will bring the U.S. military's most elite soldiers, including the Green Berets and Navy SEALS, to Texas for simulated special operations in a hostile territory. But plans for the exercise have roused fears in many Texans of a federal occupation.

In a letter to Major General Gerald Betty of the Texas State Guard, Abbott said his order was "to address concerns of Texas citizens."

"During the training operation, it is important that Texans know their safety, constitutional rights, private property right and civil liberties will not be infringed," the governor wrote. "I am directing the Texas State Guard to monitor Operation Jade Helm 15."

Does Alex Jones REALLY believe that the US Military would turn on the American people ?

On their Sisters, Brothers, nieces, nephews mothers and fathers ?

That they would follow the orders of a President with very little popularity among Military personnel to go out and atfack their own ??

As for Greg Abbott I don't see any harm in what he's doing.

You can tell a Texan, not much, but you can tell him...

Hell no they wouldn't. Soldiers have never followed orders to attack their fellow citizens. :liar:liar:liar

It is fairly harmless, but it is also pretty ****ing stupid. Texans should be seriously embarrassed at who they elected right now.

Well, at least one former legislator was embarrassed enough to write the governor.

In his letter to the governor, Todd Smith of Euless, who retired from public office in 2013, said he is “horrified that I have to choose between the possibility that my Governor actually believes this stuff and the possibility that my Governor doesn’t have the backbone to stand up to those who do.”

He said he wrote because the thought that the U.S. military would be a threat to Texas is “embarrassing” and it is important “to rational governance that thinking Republicans call you out on it.”

And everybody thought that the Lt. Governor, Dan Patrick, was the nutty one......LOL!!!

Did you know that US troops have already fired on their own? That they fired on, killed a few and arrested others, fellow GIs from the old Brown Shoe Army nearly a century ago?

That US troops and National Guard fired on and killed unarmed students at Kent State?

That US troops "guarding the border" for the war on drugs shot and killed Ezekiel Hernandez, a young shepherd?

That US police officers daily taze, beat, and kill unarmed people?

Stanley Milgram's experiments, and many others, have proven that humans WILL torture other humans and will kill other humans if they are so directed by authority figures. Obedience To Authority is a powerful motivator in humans.

History shows there are ways for governments to do just that.

We're too busy counting our money and admiring our low unemployment and crime rates.

We're too busy counting our money and admiring our low unemployment and crime rates.

In 2010, Texas and Oklahoma were tied at #19 for murders per 100,000, was #15 for violent crimes and #2 for property crimes.

2013, Texas was #23 for murder, #17 for violent and #10 for property - so things are improving but still not what one might reasonably call "low crime rates"

Militaries have been successfully used against a domestic populace since historical times.

I don't think they are, not most of them anyway. In fact, I wonder if Texans are thinking about all this as a little reminder of their independence.

Anyway, very funny photo here, somebody holding a sign that reads "No Gestapo in Bastropo." I can't help but think of Adam Sandler as "Opera Man": Abbott's call to monitor Army exercises draws criticism - Houston Chronicle

Here's a list from Talking Points Memo on the craziness factor in regards to Jade Helm

  1. The operation is a cover for the implementation of martial law
  2. DOJ, United Nations plan to seize Americans' guns
  3. The military plans to imprison political dissidents
  4. The military plans to eliminate citizens who've made the "red list"
  5. The military has occupied shuttered Wal-Marts
  6. The operation will coincide with a false flag economic collapse

Do you know the real meaning of Jade Helm? "Joint Assistant for Deployment and Execution" - "Homeland Eradication of Local Militants", although I did see somewhere on a blog a better one for Helm: "Hysterical Embarrassing Lunatic's Mendacity"

There was an old '60's era adage, but my memory of it might be paraphrase: "Demonizing an enemy empowers the powerless."

Those in party-positions & elected office can only remain there through the will of the people - their power flows from us.

When they have little to offer (they're powerless, devoid of ideas, or have ulterior motive), they demonize an opponent thereby instilling fear in their followers, rushing in to "save them from the demonic unthinkable"! And this is how they seize & remain in power, even if they themselves are innately powerless & ineffectual.

It works well enough, and while it's my opinion that one party employs this tactic a bit more than the other, they both are skilled masters in this regard, along with those in appointed office as well (police & safety issues seem especially ripe for this tactic, along with anything relating to children).

If it didn't work, it wouldn't be done (sadly).

What turned out to be the answer to those same questions in Germany some time ago? Well proven is that history repeats itself and the ignorant lose.

The National Guard can use all the training it can get, let them "monitor", they might just learn something.

Too bad the Iraqi army doesn't know that.

Are the Wal-Mart's full of incarcerated Texans yet?
