Baltimore Police: Gangs Enter Partnership to ‘Take-Out’ Officers [W:99]

I did see the whole video, it was murder.

Does anyone believe there would be riots in Baltimore if the Police had inititiated a "HOMICIDE" investigation of Freddie Gray's death. Broken necks are not accidental deaths and are not died in custody. Damage inflicted upon Freddie Gray by Baltimore Police killed Gray. That would be homicide at some level. I believe the starting point to any solution begin with a public homicide investigation.

So basically you are suggesting that the rule of law be replaced by the rule of the mob?

Greetings, Erik. :2wave:

I watched her make her comment, and I couldn't believe my ears! How can that be twisted to mean anything other than what she actually said? She meant what she said - backtracking now is nothing more than self preservation, because she's being called on it! Sheesh!

Re your last paragraph - it looks like another Detroit in the making - is this what the black community in Baltimore wants their future to look like?

Mornin' Polgara...:2wave:

Spin it is exactly what she tried, and continues to do though....As you may or may not know, I lived about 20 min north of Balto for 20 years...Worked there, played there, and love that city. If it weren't for absolute insane leadership like what we see in their Mayor today. There are places in the city where you might not want to take a wrong turn into, as with many cities, but in Balto, these places are largely left to their own law, unless police make a sweep from time to time....Druid Hill, North St., The Alemeda....Not where I'd be as the sun goes down as a white male....

Bottom line, the Mayor is, IMHO, Criminally negligent in this situation that we saw play out. One news cast I was watching as the looters were sacking a store, the reporter asked a cop, "why aren't you stopping them?", and the cop responded "ask the Mayor." I think that says it all...

This Mayor was culpable, and now responsible for the damage, and the injuries, and the lives destroyed by this display of raw animalism we were witness to last night...She should immediately resign in shame, at the very least.

Now as for tonight?, I don't know, but the force is now being bolstered by State, National Gaurd, and surrounding counties, including my former home of Harford County MD. So, I doubt that we will see a repeat, but where the hell were they yesterday? I mean, they keep saying they had intelligence, but didn't employ it....Why? What a shame...

I know if I were in charge of 'Urban development' for a large business, I'd steer clear of this, and other areas like this...Not worth the risk....So, they destroy themselves in this crap.

Greetings, Fenton. :2wave:

I talked to a friend today in Baltimore, and she told me it's worse than what's being reported. She said that everyone she knows is staying home because they're afraid of being outside! WTH? In America? This is such :bs:

If everyone was concealed carry, there'd be no need to stay home and inside. Everyone would be equal to the thugs, giving them pause to consider are their plans worth dying for.

Yeah and Jesse Jackson blamed the Baltimore Police for the rioting.....that would be the Baltimore Police made up of a good majority of minorities. Unlike Ferguson. Still it shows how out of touch Jackson is. In that pic I had up.....looks like he was wearing a vest under his suit and shirt.

Also the Pastor at the funeral was calling for Justice.....then when he saw what was happening. Stated that's not what he meant. :doh

I am tired of those religious people of the left always jumping in and looking to use Civil Rights as a reason. They cry about the religious Right getting involved with politics. Time to end that play of theirs.

I'm pretty sure you can call for justice without meaning anarchy and vigilantism.

Mornin DF :2wave: Didn't they immediately suspend the 6 officers and started investigating? They already admitted they didn't have any real grounds to stop the kid. This went a week without getting violent. They also tried to put shackles on him and his spine was already severed or damaged. They know that from the driver stopping to get out to go deal with the kid. Plus they admitted they didn't call for an Ambulance immediately.

I don't see any out for the 6 cops either.....they give up who committed the act or all go down together.

Hear, hear....I saw Cummings speaking yesterday, and in reading between the lines of his speech at the funeral, could also been construed as a tacit call, and condoning of the actions we saw last night....What the hell is the matter with these idiots....? Don't they realize that it is their own constituents that will be hurt with their rhetoric?

Mornin Ikari. :2wave: That's True.....but after he was watching what was happening. That's what he said......that this wasn't what he meant.

Either way another Pastor from here (Chicago) is going to rush on down and give the Baltimore pastor some help.

Freddie Gray needs a federal investigation to answer those questions.

Using freddie gray to loot, rob oxy's from cvs and liquor from liquote stores all while burning down community centers makes you worse or at least as bad as the cops who were responsible for freddie gray's death.

Right, because public homicide investigations are conducted by mobs.

I'm pretty sure you can call for justice without meaning anarchy and vigilantism.

Hey Mornin' there Ikari...:2wave:

Look, I wanted to ask you, largely because of your sig line pics...Was it gratifying to you to see these police last night outnumbered, neutered, retreating, and doing literally NOTHING during the mayhem last night? Because those on the side that are in attack on the police, and using rhetoric about "police state", and the "kinder gentler" footprint model, well, what you saw last night is that reality. Looked pleasant didn't it?

The looting and robbing that seems to always accompany these things is always wrong, and never is cause to dismiss police abuse.

What Leadership has Baltimore and the surrounding region been under for the last 20 years or more? Whos laws are being implemented and who is creating legislation?

Greetings, Polgara. :2wave:

Heard an interesting comment this morning. If you look at the larger time frame, Watts, for example, still hasn't recovered from the impact of it's riots. Much the same can be said for Detroit as well, because once the riots happened, many people moved out and pretty much said leave me out of it. This degraded the tax base, and didn't help the financial problems.

Kinda adds up and make sense, dominoes falling one by one and all that.

Worse still, there are videos I believe, or at least confirmed reports, of these animals raiding gun stores and arming up.

What a shame. These communities are being played again, and they are too lost to see the ones who are playing them are the same ones who have been buying their votes for decades.

What was dismissed Monte? :2wave: The police Chief Immediately suspended those Officers and came out publicly with an apology. Said this was being investigated and wasn't going to be happening on his watch. Then they started getting camera footage from all around where they had been.

Oh, aren't you all smug and satisfied with the destruction. Let us not forget what caused this powder keg to erupt. There are many many reason why so many of our cities are powder kegs, typically revolving around socio-economic pitfalls. But the rise of police aggression against the people and the number of casualties caused in the militarization of our police has been pilling onto the already hefty mountain. Had the police not killed this kid in their custody, there would never have been riots...not now. The potential will always exist until you solve the root problems, but at this time there would have been none. There would have been nothing to ignite the spark and led thugs and criminals to a take over in riotous response like last night.

There's no one cause to the aggregate system, but the straw that broke the camel's back was aggressive police action against the citizens. So no, a militarized police does not look pleasant and it will not have good results; particularly when we heap it haphazardly onto an already smoldering cauldron of contempt and economic stagnation.

True enough, but as DF correctly argued, public scrutiny and investigation needs to drive this. I don't like democrats investigating themselves for possible wrong doing nor do I like the department investigating themselves.

Oh here we go with this nonsense again

That's exactly right, but I will say that under O'Malley the cops started to crack down on these areas. So, because there was increased police scrutiny, the residents didn't like that, so this fueled anger...But, we now see once again that appeasement is NOT the way to approach this kind of crap....It never is.

Well I think some jumped on it Right away. They were getting video footage from peoples phones. The one lady had them putting him into the van and was yelling out that his legs was broke. There was something wrong.

Plus they reported there was another in the van. But this was all before Friday.
