This was breaking.....its up in Josie's thread.

Yes, it's alot worse today. You have Orioles playing tonight in Baltimore. They need to call in the National Guard now or it's gonna blow up massively.

The Governor is too scared to act and bring in necessary back up to help quell the riots.

Ridiculous. Everything is a Political opportunity or has Political consequences. Do your damn job.

Tragically, where there is opportunity, there will be opportunists. The looting and destruction of property are disgusting. These people don't give a damn about Freddie Gray, only about themselves.

Meanwhile, there are questions about what happened to Freddie Gray that demand answers, but those answers haven't been provided, and it's time.

It's unfortunately true. There are real issues that need to be discussed and figured out, but it will all fall to nothing behind senseless violence and looting. It's getting out of hand there, and the rioting is absolutely unacceptable. There may be a lot of anger at the police or laws and government action, but resorting to crime cannot solve it. And those resorting to rioting do not want it solved.

Greetings, Fenton. :2wave:

I talked to a friend today in Baltimore, and she told me it's worse than what's being reported. She said that everyone she knows is staying home because they're afraid of being outside! WTH? In America? This is such :bs:

Open fire on these animals. Please.

Thing is I've been listening to the scanner link Josie posted - the violence is literally all over Baltimore, Rosemont, to Barclay to Broadway East.

Lots of descriptions of black males wearing bandana's and hoodies busting car windshields, carjacking, assaults, beating kids up at a school, etc. Wonder what the Mayer and Police Chief are doing to control the situation. Seems loose bricks being collected and are the favored throw-able object tonight.

If the gangs want to start a war then the police will answer in kind, the police cannot accept that gangs are going to rule the streets.

Heya Ockham. :2wave: Loretta Lynch to the rescue, Mike made the discovery in the other thread.

Obama also spoke with Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake on Monday, while his senior adviser, Valerie Jarrett, spoke with Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan, the White House said.

"The meeting was not called specifically as a result of the situation in Baltimore, the White House said, but Lynch "assured the President that she would continue to monitor events in Baltimore and that the Department of Justice stands ready to provide any assistance that might be helpful there."....snip~

White House, Lynch turn to Baltimore - CNNPolitics.com

What I was wondering is why Valerie Jarrett is talking to the Governor of Maryland.

Where are the Reverend's Jackson and Sharpton? Seems like they'd want to be there to calm things down. I mean, if they want people to believe what they say you'd think they would jump at the opportunity to offer a pacific message - first hand. They know bull horns real well.

Heya HB. :2wave: Cmon now like a moth drawn to the flame. Jesse is there already and taken to the cameras. Even Elijah Cummings was there for the funeral. Jesse had to get in on that act too.

Yeah, but where are they now? What? Did they just light the fuse and then leave before the fireworks? These race ho's need to be called on to lend a hand at something besides incitement. And while I'm at it, the cops need to tell us what happened to that guy. His spine didn't break all by itself. None of what's happening excuses the thugs, who largely deserve to be shot. However, the somewhat passive police response might indicate that they aren't without blame here. They should've been more forthcoming on the injury to this guy in my view - assuming that they know how something that serious could've happened.

She said they gave the protesters the space to destroy things if they wanted to.

Wow.

Thank God I live in Texas. The average law abiding citizen has a pistol either on them or in their vehicle.

Because not enough guns is definitely the problem...

Nah, they just need jobs .....Lol.

The Police spokesman Fox had on said it perfectly.

These are the consequences of Decades of Liberal policies that enable and perpetuate poverty, mediocrity and dedependance.

Maybe the Governor should give the rioters more " room " to destroy their neighborhood and others.

There is no doubt that there is something screwed up with whatever cops did to that kid.....moreover their excuse to stop him and check him out. Was never good enough in my book. As they said he gave them a dirty look. Not like he said anything to them.

But Jackson showing up and looking to play off of this. You know Sharptones will follow Right up. But you are Right.....both need to be called out for how much they make off incidents like this. Follow the money as these guys are not the brightest bunch of their bulbs.

It's a good thing I'm not a cop. There'd be a lot of bodies laying around here and there. I don't know what happened to that kid, but this reaction is way, way over the top. Jackson and Sharpton should be reviled by the black community - they've done nothing but enrich themselves on the backs of the people they claim they're helping. When is the black community going to wake up and throw these bums to the dogs?

You got that Right, huh Pete.

Yes. In the end they will change tactics and it will not end well for the gangs either. They may strike (if that is what was happening here) from time to time but in the long term they are the ones risking death and life in jail and in the end the police will take most gang members down.

I love the United States, always have. I cannot live there because this is the US now. It was the America I left in 1967, LA and Detroit took turns being burned. Nine dead in Ohio....and Jesse was pimping even then.

In recent months we have had Ferguson and New York take a trip in the war zone. There will be more, many. Because your system is corrupt. Elected politicians know they don't have to fix anything, merely make it look like they tried.

In the meantime races are trump cards to be played at election time, run a black guy because he's black and the 'black vote' figures they have a champion in the White House only to find he's a champion of Walls Street and Hollywood rap stars.

In 66 years I have seen NO progress on race, merely hand outs to blacks to buy their vote, AA programs that cause resentment in whites, all negatives, no positives. The blacks are as at fault as thew police, using violence instead of brain power, head butting instead of shame like my personal hero of all time, Mahatma Gandhi. Passive resistance defeated the British Empire.

I have said many times the election of Barack Obama has set back race relations in the US by a decade at least. You chose a black man because he was hip and black, not qualified and now you pay a price.

Something to think about as the nation considers the first woman president only because she's a woman.

Now is there anyone who truly believes Hillary can end racial violence?

Jessey Jackson said in Baltimore:

"Rawlings-Blake needs statewide support to lift families out of poverty through jobs, education, mental health clinics and better housing, Jackson said. He said he hoped the protests would help lead to such change."

Jesse Jackson: 'The police wagon became a tomb' - Baltimore Sun

Could it just be possible that a liberal is now suggesting to bring people out of poverty they need jobs. Who would have thought. I mean with a job they can afford better housing and healthcare. Is this a revelation, that maybe, just maybe jobs and not handouts do more for people including the poor. Face it under Obama there are more blacks unemployed than ever before. The liberal solution is more handouts, this is the first cry from a liberal for jobs.

Oh yeah and when its all back to being peaceful.....those cameras will lead the cops to those they will catch sleeping during the day. Cameras everywhere nowadays.

Didn't Ferguson chase Jesse out.....and let Sharptones in?

The other lil detail was Valerie Jarrett talking to the Governor of Maryland. Sounds like that's something BO should have been doing.

Hogan should have said......what is this a joke or something. Put your boss on the damn phone.

Yeah, as long as the minimum wage is $15.00 per hour, or more. You know that's coming, as it's already on the burner. There's no change of heart. The black leaders of today are interested in making as much money as possible from the black community and the welfare state, and then they disappear when the going gets tough, the money gets short, and the wind blows against them. They're down with the struggle as long as they don't personally have to struggle. Then all bets are off. They serve themselves.

Greetings, humbolt. :2wave:

If I recall correctly, during the riots in the 60s, many people were killed before it ended. During the riots in the 90s that followed the Rodney King beating, Chinese merchants protected their businesses by sitting on their roofs with shotguns to prevent looting and destruction. Does history have to repeat itself before a halt is put to this? Since it has now been termed a "State of Emergency" in Baltimore, can the National Guard be called in?

Valerie is the boss. Hogan's Heroes will be the National Guard. They'll set up a perimeter, and let the cops deal with what's inside.
