Oh this just gets better and better. Now BO and his Team are admitting that the Russians have been getting to BO's unclassified emails. Do you recall BO grinning as he admitted he had emails from Hillary and emailed her back. All while Hillary said no official business were in her private emails. That she was never hacked. Sure is starting to look like Hillary gave up more than just a breach to National Security, doesn't it? Even worse was BO and his Team thinking they could keep this hidden. What say ye?

Russian hackers who penetrated sensitive parts of the White House computer system last year read President Barack Obama's unclassified emails, the New York Times reported on Saturday, quoting U.S. officials. There is no evidence that the president's email account itself was hacked, White House officials said. Still, the fact that some of Mr. Obama's communications were among those retrieved by hackers has been one of the most closely held findings of the inquiry," the paper said.

The New York Times said on Saturday the breach had been "far more intrusive and worrisome than has been publicly acknowledged." It said that although no classified networks had been compromised, officials conceded that the unclassified system still contains highly sensitive information such as email exchanges with diplomats, exchanges about personnel moves and legislation, presidential schedules and discussion about policy.

The paper said that Senior White House officials had known for months about the depth of the intrusion.....snip~

That would probably mean that the Russians knew Obama's strategy and limits in Syria, Ukraine and Iran to mention a few tender spots.

Russian hackers who penetrated sensitive parts of the White House computer system last year read President Barack Obama's unclassified emails,

Wait, what?

That's breaking into a bank to make a deposit.

Wait, what?

That's breaking into a bank to make a deposit.

How do you figure that?

Seems to me that the policy going forward needs to be "No private email accounts for executive branch while in office".

Would rather that they sift out and filter the private emails from the official email account prior to archiving rather than the reverse, as we have seen in the Clinton example, and example of how to do it exactly completely wrong (on purpose for her part).

You seem to misunderstand. Unclassified -meaning not sensitive- emails were read by hackers. His private email account was not sniffed, nor were any classified(+) emails. The only evidence of any security breach is the article's claim that "sensitive areas were penetrated".

I understand the difference, and I can also understand that classified information can easily be leaked in private emails just by their off hand mentioning in private emails. I think the position / policy I suggest is a reasonable one.

Wait, what?

That's breaking into a bank to make a deposit.

How is it hacking / sniffing Obama's private email and the breach of "sensitive areas were penetrated" is like "breaking into a bank to make a deposit"?

Please elaborate.

I'm not sure what your policy would entail. You mean no non-state use of emails, or no use of email by the individual?

They've "penetrated sensitive areas" only to leave their signature, having gathered nothing of any significance whatsoever. Obviously not professionals; if so, then betrayed.

Mornin Eco. :2wave: Seems the Russians have been doing it regularly. More than likely after the Romanian hacker got into Sidney Blumenthal's account and then scooped up Hillary and used her to get others email accounts.

If it's "the Russians", they've been betrayed (or set up). One doesn't leave a sig in "sensitive areas" to get nothing on purpose.

No private email account to be used while in office. Period. All emails through the official email account only.

Would rather sift though an entire and complete record of all email communication and filter off / retain privacy of the private emails (still retained in the official record but held private), rather than the way that Hillary arranged it, completely circumventing any official review.

Rather like I believe Kerry's doing it now (but maybe not).

They've "penetrated sensitive areas" only to leave their signature, having gathered nothing of any significance whatsoever.

OK. Gotcha. Fair enough.

They didn't say nothing of any significance wasn't gained. Fact is.....they don't know yet.

Yeah that would be the concern.....what other Diplomats email addresses did they get. Or even some Leader's private email.

Making a mountain of a molehill. Basically, this is analogous to some hackers in Russia got the White House Receptionist's phone log. An outer shell of data basically accessible by the public, unclassified and not sensitive.

If there was anything good, we'd have it. There's a reason there's not a single quote from any document in the OP.

Diplomat's addresses? What, is Iran sending commandos? Spare me.

Everything is a scandal when it concerns Obama! Benghazi led nowhere. The IRS thing led nowhere. F&F led nowhere. It's on to the next scandal! They're getting admittedly weaker every time. A bunch unclassified e-mails, addresses and schedules? Our very existence is now threatened!

Did they mention whether or not they have copies of Hillary's?

Nah its not really.....see they know Hillary's email and server was hacked. Just within the last month. The WH was hacked thru State Dept computers. Another one of those Clinton coincidincies. ;)

Good for the Russians - let Obama have a taste of his own NSA-style medicine.

Doesn't feel so good having people read your private emails when you probably did nothing wrong - does it Barack?

Did they mention whether or not they have copies of Hillary's?

Nope.....but they should know whoever Bo was talking with.

But we did have the breach within the last 30 days or so with the WH being hacked thru State Dept computers. So it does leave some questions that should be answered.

That was lengthy talk about Russians. How about NSA tapping Mackeral's phone calls.

Is that some sort of deflection? What is the NY Times now out to get BO? Did you want to buy a watch too?

The hackers, who also got into the State Department's unclassified system, obtained access to the email archives of people inside the White House, and perhaps some outside, with whom Obama regularly communicated, the Times said. It was from those accounts that they reached emails that the president had sent and received, according to the officials.

"But officials have conceded that the unclassified system routinely contains much information that is considered highly sensitive: schedules, email exchanges with ambassadors and diplomats, discussions of pending personnel moves and legislation, and, inevitably, some debate about policy," the Times reported.

"It's the Russian angle to this that's particularly worrisome," a senior official was quoted as saying.....snip~

Russian hackers read Obama emails: report

Oh yeah its just schedules and emails? What Happened? Ambassadors don't count either, huh? :lamo

Don't worry. Eventually the GOP will get back in to full control and then they will create a brand new department (Like Homeland Security.) to prevent this from happening again. More government. ;)

By my assessment: Benghazi makes voting for Hillary more difficult, the IRS thing went a bit higher than I first expected and F&F was a typical government bungle if worthy of singling out.

Well they didn't get into BO's Blackberry they said.....but it is now looking like they got into others email accounts that work in the WH.

Looks like the Russians have more than just one fly on the wall to listen with too.

You don't even read articles, do you? You just spam anti-American crap, right?

No, it looks like amateur hackers got into the outer shell of communications containing unclassified correspondence.

It certainly was not "the Russians", as it would be ****ing absurd for a state intelligence agency to get caught sneaking into the receptionist's phone log.
