Ah yes, a demonstration of the tolerance of the gay community. See it's not the gayness we dislike, it is the behavior of those defending it. And that is why many of us just refuse to deal with the drama. It's not worth it for the 3% of the consumer market. I turned away a war veteran in my business recently. Not because he was a veteran, but because he wanted me to diagnose his car for free and then await payment on the work until weeks later. Doesn't work that way. This is a business, not a charity. On the other hand, we just delivered a large job for a lesbian girl yesterday. It went very well and I think she will be very happy with it. She is out of work, and honestly with the multicolored hair, facial piercings and tattoos I can see why, but her parents paid us $2700 to put an engine in her car after she ran it out of oil.

This has nothing to do with the "gay community" and everything to do with this idiot proclaiming his refusal to serve openly gay people simply because he is a hypocrite, as well as a possible threat to those who disagree with him. He even said he expected "hate mail". While most of us do not condone death threats or anything of the sort, we also do not have any real clue about any supposed death threats, including who is making them or exactly why. For all we know, it could be someone who didn't like the guy's work, attitude, etc. that has dealt with him, not someone who even cares about this. Plus, we don't know if those alleged threats are any more real than his "threat" about leaving off nuts from a vehicle he works on.

Well I had someone threaten to kill me, and he is currently in jail. All death threats are taken seriously by the intended target. Even if they are an internet tough guy with tolerance issues.

No, all are not taken with the same seriousness as others. There are a lot of things taken into account when it comes to death threats, including actual intent, ability, state of mind, etc.

Being in a relationship is a choice. Getting married is a choice. Bringing your car to that shop is a choice. Even this guy's being a christian is a choice. Rather or not it's a choice is totally irrelevant. You should maybe learn something about the topic before posting again.

Either let businesses discriminate as they please and stfu about it, or, don't let businesses discriminate against anyone. There should be one standard that everyone has to play by.

Yep, but being gay is not and neither is being black. Both the first sign you showed and the article in question refer to denying service for the mere act of being black and being gay. That's why they're not the same thing. Continuing to pretend they are will only make you look silly. The only thing which is a choice here is carrying your gun. :shrug:

This thread is about business discrimination. I argue that a business open to the public doesn't have a right to refuse broad classes of customers, but only individuals who harm the business.

You think this is about gay rights, but it's not. This is about business rights and the flow of economy.
