Two TSA Officers Fired for Scheme to Grope Attractive Men at Denver Airport

The part that doesn't make sense to me, . . . no one complained. So it does seem as though he didn't abuse his authority to the point of groping anyone, just inconvenienced pretty men by making them have a pat-down.

this to me is the scary part: the supervisors of the employees realized that this was a gross abuse of their authority and fired them; but the guy who was groped couldn't tell the difference between a "normal" pat down and outright sexual harassment.

should airplane passengers who go through TSA have to assume that they might be sexually harassed when they are randomly pulled aside for a pat down?

i was already against the system, so it goes without saying that i think it needs significant overhaul if we have come to this

Because the victims had no choice but to be groped by this man the crime was illegal confinement because the stopping was not legitimate. Further the crime was forced sexual contact by a person in authority over the victim so that boarders on rape and certainly felony sexual misconduct and with these event being on video tape there need not be a complainant. Several counts of rape through coercion should get this guy and his helpers some jail time not reassigned.

Perhaps we shouldn't have let UK draw the countries borders(Israel). We did have a say in that mess after the war.

There are a lot of things that we have targets on our back for, but supporting another country is not one of them.

Wait, your'e saying our Support of Israel hasn't caused a backlash from Islamic Countries ?

Thats just willful ignorance.

If I had to guess the passengers didn't realize that what was being done was against TSA rules and the law or were just too embarrassed to say anything

Oh my, we are indeed in a catch22...

Pat-Downs | Transportation Security Administration

If the purpose of same gender pat downs is to avoid groping, then indeed homosexuals should not be patting down their own gender. But that then means homosexuals would not be able to do their full job. I think the only solution is to not require gender specific pat downs and simply go after anyone caught groping on either gender.

It'll be a very cold day in hell before I'd let a male TSA mope touch my wife or daughter

Apparently the palm forward is a rule not a law, because if the authorities watch someone commit a crime, there doesn't need to be a victim coming forward,... right? Hence no crime, but reason for dismissal. That's the best understanding I have. Clearly what he did didn't rise to the level of sexual assault, perhaps it's a misdemeanor and then has to have a victim, ???

Do note that I recognize that there's a problem with pat-down rules when viewed regarding homosexuals. I just think the hysteria about trying to call it sexual assault needs to be dampered down.

In the end you don't actually get a choice, just as you don't now. It is interesting that you have so little faith in your own gender.

I'll go ahead and answer both of you at the same time.

We brought the war there when after WWII we allowed our allies to set up the people in power. In addition we continued to meddle with foreign governments without having a reason to, see Iran vs Iraq(80s), Mohammad Reza Pahlavi(Iran) (assassinated) Afghanistan (70s&80s), a faked Cold War and a Missile Crisis that never existed. There are tons of examples from the past that show how we brought the war to the middle east ourselves and while we sure don't deserve any attacks, to say our hands are clean is less than dishonest.

You are.. out there.

Yay! Catch22!!! That's all I have to say.

Sounds like it is past time to remove the TSA, yet again.

It has been "past time" ever since the airlines reenforced and locked cockpit doors.

Nope, how about file charges against them for sexual assault ?

The **** would stop in a instant

As the OP mentioned, the victims must be involved for that to happen.

TSA is terrible and I hate it. So, so, so much. But it doesn't mean it isn't useful. I think people underestimate the psychological impact airport security has on peoples confidence in flying. Even if they don't acknowledge or realize it.
That is really the only good the TSA does.

Give ignorant people a sense of security.

Nothing interesting about it. I know my gender and specifically the kind of guys who'd love to wear the TSA blue

Fair enough. I am glad to see you also support pro-choice, so that end this on a happy note for both.

BTW I have to agree, whether I be man or woman, I'd rather be patted down by a woman. Women just seem less likely to intrude where not invited.

Somebody want to remind me the last time the TSA caught a terrorist.

Tell me the last time one got through the TSA and hijacked a plane? Whether they catch them or are just an effective deterrent doesn't really matter.

Really? Please do tell...How so?

By placing hostile forces in Islamic territory (US Forces in Saudi Arabia), but supporting a hostile nation in Islamic territory (Israel), and by putting sanctions on an Islamic nation (Iraq).

Plus the US's constant interference in Islamic territory since the 50's is the root cause of the current state of war between Islam and the US.

I had a woman tell me she flew on a major airlines and she told TSA she had a pacemaker so they would have to do a hand pat down. A female TSA agent did the pat down. When the agent got to the woman's breast she said she would use the back of her hand to pat her breasts down. I guess using the back of your hands is not considered groping a boob. hmmm.

Apparently a supervisor heard about what the crew was doing and did a sting on them, thats how they got caught. But I have a feeling some people will now come forward and sue, assuming that they remember being the victims.

Oh yes, totally why I wanted to join TSA. It had nothing to do with the benefits, decent pay, and a job that sounds generally interesting; it was all about wanting to look at and touch boobs. Gee, glad you did a great job stereotyping so I'd know exactly what I wanted to do, I was so confused with that other stuff that is clearly bull****. No it's all about groping women!

I know it wasn't your intention, but that made me LOL.
