Conservative Group Bars Log Cabin Republicans From Event

Knock it off. The fact is that there is a powerful anti-LGBT force within Republican/conservative circles, and the OP gives us yet another example of this.

But keep it up, Republicans. Your bigotry is literally dying out. :)

It's a good thing the Republicans are dying out. If they weren't, the Republicans would control the House and the Senate right now. And there would be no gay Republicans, like the Log Cabins.

Oh wait.

I said anti-LGBT attitudes. Not the Republican party. Lern two reed.

Too funny. You have no idea what's going on.

It looks like he isn't alone. I wonder why people decided not to read the article but instead go into full hyper-partisan meltdown instead? No, scratch that - I don't wonder.

At least this anti-gay thread isn't centered around pizza and cakes.

Then man up and call these assholes out. Stop attacking the messengers for once.

I'm not attacking the messenger, I'm attacking the assumptions that the messengers are making. I won't argue against a flawed premise, since it's usually waste of time to do so, but I will point it out.

Interesting, if it had anything to do with this thread. But since the Republicans being discussed here are - check this out - gay Republicans (gasp!) and Republicans who support same sex marriage (gasp!), you seem to have stumbled into the wrong thread.

But I love pizza!

I think some people get too invested in the stereotypes they create to really look at specific circumstances. And some just aren't smart enough.

The day I buy that lie is the day that self-identified conservatives don't overwhelmingly vote Republican.

Your defensiveness is on full display now, Tres.

News flash - it's no different in any other political group.

It's much different. When religion is involved there's very little wiggle room. Religion isn't a big part of the Libertarian party, or the Dems, etc. Right NOW the GOP has a large and vocal religious right. So this is a problem mostly with the GOP.

It's still stupid.

But then I am a Christian who supports gay marriage.

I'm a Christian who thinks that marriage should be an exclusively civil matter, so I don't really have a dog in this hunt... I just dislike it when people put up crap like the OP to try to denigrate people based on nothing more than a lie.

You didn't mention religion before. All parties have their litmus tests, just ask Joe Lieberman.

An incredibly stupid move.

This is why Republicans are not in office permanently. It is devisive, elitist and displays blind bigotry. The fact the GOP was able to attract enough gays to actually form a group in Colorado is stunningly remarkable, and these clowns should have been celebrating that. Now they have further enshrined a bad stereotype by making it true.

Least they were being honest with them. They don't want to associate with people who openly defy the word of God.

Conservatives mentioned religion as an excuse for barring gays from this event.

It's going to be a problem for the GOP in 2016. Not just with gays but with younger women who are pro-abortion.

See above... ^^^^

So you think the Log Cabin Republicans are lying, aren't gay and don't really support gay marriage. Nice.

Suppose a Democrat group were created where they agreed with every single portion of the dem platform with the solitary exception that they were for segregation. Would you expect them to be welcomed at a Democrat party event sponsored by and held at the NAACP?

Actually, it will only be a problem for people who wouldn't vote GOP anyway. And this still wasn't a GOP event.

Because it's a religious event. Weird that they don't want people whose ideas they oppose at their event?

If an atheist group was hosting a convention, and the Pro-Traditional Marriage Democrats of Sheboygan wanted to have a booth there, then the Democrats are evil rotten people. According to the logic in this thread, anyway.

Oh, then I assume they kicked out those hetrosexuals living together.

And anyone who stole a pen from work, swore or had sex outside of marriage

When I meet a Christian who can get through a day without breaking at least one commandment then I will consider this "shunning". the Jesus I follow died for my sins, yours and gays. As I understand it, Jesus loves sinners.

I guess you don't

Asked and answered.

Yes, I know...was there a reason why you said it again? I personally disagree with you that they're liars, as would anyone who knows who the Log Cabin Republicans are (there are a lot of them and they've been around for 40+ years), but if you want to not learn anything and let hyper-partisan ignorance shine in your posts, that's okay too.

Kicked out of where?

This is why the conservative Republicans and the GOP will have a problem in 2016. It's their way or the highway. If someone or some group isn't 100% ideologically pure they don't want anything to do with you. Of course the problem with that is most aren't 100% pure.

Yeah because the democrats are so diverse in their idealogy

Hmmm

Where do i start
'

I guess I meant banned but the point is the same. If you cannot associate with sinners, then what about adulterers? Liars? Pilferers?

If there are groups called "Living In Sin and Defying God" or "Cheating On Your Spouse With Style" trying to rent a booth there, yeah, they would probably decline their participation as well, based on their usual exhibitors/vendors.

Just like I declined booth requests from pet stores that sell puppies at the animal rescue events I hosted.
