Just a week after forming an exploratory committee, Lincoln Chafee indicated on Thursday morning that he will, in fact, mount a run for the Democratic nomination for president.
“That’s why I’m running. Because I feel strong about where we’re going as a country,” the former Rhode Island governor told CNN.

“We will file the proper papers to be an official candidate, but that has not happened yet,” his spokeswoman, Debbie Rich, told the cable news network.

Chafee took the political world — including former advisers — by surprise last Thursday when he announced the formation of a presidential exploratory committee just a year after he declined to seek reelection as Rhode Island’s governor. At the time, he faced a Democratic primary that many observers believed he could not win.

Well it looks like we got another one. Verbally announcing he is running, has not filed the paper work yet but indicated that they will. It seem he is gonna be running as more of a dove than Clinton. It seems that he will be running on foreign policy issues being against Clinton's hawkish foreign policy. In my opinion I would vote for Chaffe over Clinton anyday.

It seems that there are vast numbers of people who would vote for anyone other than Hillary. The problem Hillary is going to confront in 2016 is that there will be an alternative on the ballot.

As Americans do you ever get bored of this circus? Dont you think it would be a better for the country if each party voted amongst themselves on who will run for president? Seems like they drag the whole process out which costs millions of dollars and takes attention away from actual issues.

I heard about this. He's coming to NH next month, and I going to attend whatever event I can. I'd be interested in hearing what he has to say. I don't think he has a chance, though.

The problem with that, is each party is a big tent party.. Each party does not really have one consistent ideology.
