2 Kansas school districts to close early because of budgets

How naive.

Do you even know what schools do on the last 6 days anyway? Hardly anything gets accomplished. They can just push the finals up a little and the kids lose maybe a day or two of studying (well, technically they lose none, the impetus is on them to get their ass off the couch and be diligent).

The meme isn't funny.

Pshhh its not like students have finals! Just gotta move those up then cut the syllabus back a whole week, just a cut here and there (what is that Brownbacks mottor now?).

Health care spending in Kansas is up by nearly $1 billion for the state. The schools have been given even more of an increase than that, but Kansas (like many other states) has seen record increases in spending. Education is the largest portion of the budget by far. Before 2010, education was almost 50% of the states budget. It is the only major category that has enough funding to be cut that can offset the increased spending mandated by the ACA. We warned the left that the ACA was bad for America. But you were to busy voting for free ****. Now you are finding out just how ****ty it was. Don't blame the messenger.

Welcome to Republican land.....the land where the rich get richer and everyone else loses schools, health care, jobs, incomes, decent food and water and anything else they care about. Is this the America we really want or is it about time we all took to the streets?

Let's debunk all of that. It won't take any time at all:

Schools - Kansas is #5 in the country in education. 2014’s States with the Best and Worst School Systems | WalletHub®

Health care - Kansas ranks 18th in health care. They are ahead of liberal meccas like California, New York, Oregon and more. How States Rank on Health Care

Jobs - Unemployment in KS is at 4.2% http://www.jec.senate.gov/public//i...&File_id=0560bb1b-5dc5-4baa-ab4d-84378652ea49

Incomes - Average income of the middle class is $46+. That's higher than the national average. Income in the United States - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia https://www.google.com/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&ion=1&espv=2&ie=UTF-8#q=nationl average income

Water - Again, Kansas is ranked better than most of the left leaning states like Maryland that has 33% of their drinking water ranked as contaminated compared to 7%.

Do you want to live in a state with a better than average health care, top 5 educational system, low unemployment, clean drinking water, better than average income and low crime rates. But if you don't want to live in that kind of country, by all means vote for Hillary or whatever democrat represents your district. I'm sure they can help you.

imagine how much kansas could save by making the school year 1 week long (only finals)

i was reading that detroit public schools face $350 million debt and on the verge of shuttering schools and sending the kids on long bus rides to other districts. That is a whopping $7000 per student. But districts throughout the state face deficits.

So you can see it's far from just a kansas problem of funding K-12

Imagine if we completely privatized it! I mean that is what the state of KS seems to be moving towards... Hell in their budget bill they are starting to turn more money over to private educational institutions...

Pretty sure that at least 80% of kansas families could not afford private school tuition

Tell that to the Kansas Legislature (AKA House of Koch).

And skip all the indoctrination. The kids might actually be better off

Sounds to me like they can't afford public school education

maybe if they quit cutting taxes , and maybe quit paying college coaches multi-million $ deals, they'd have $ left..........
And maybe they could grow some money on tees

Sounds like I may need to move and join this mystical state he speaks of
And you would move right back out in short order. Although I suspect you would have a much higher tolerance for the pain your own ideology would induce, but you would eventually see the light.

So what state is it? I need to go check this place out..

Complete Nonsense.

Texas is thriving because its run by the GOP and it applies Conservative economic principles.

Millions of economic refugees from plague Blue States like California have moved to Texas just find work and opportunities and hundreds of Businesses have done the same.

We've led the Nation in Job Creation at all levels of income and are now building on to a nearly 10 Billion dollar surplus while left wing hell holes like Illinois and California are mired in massive debt and unfunfunded liabilities.

Americans have seen what left wing Polices do to a economy and and they've responded by adding more GOP seats not just in local and State elections but in the Senate and House.

If you have evidence let's look at it.

It's the internet of course I can find it! These people in the public school system got busted and that is a good thing.

Has anyone teaching in the public schools ever been busted?

We know there is corruption within the ATF and that even teachers who commit crimes against their students are almost impossible to fire. But the unions also contribute a great deal to a corrupt political party.
