The U.S. government charged three Americans on Thursday with plotting attacks on their native soil and against U.S. military personnel in Afghanistan.

Federal prosecutors in Brooklyn, N.Y., accused two women of conspiring to build a bomb and detonate it in the U.S., a plan allegedly inspired by Islamic State and other jihadist propaganda. The women—28-year-old Noelle Velentzas and 31-year-old Asia Siddiqui—are U.S. citizens and live together in an apartment in Queens, N.Y.

Separately in Brooklyn, the government filed federal terrorism charges against a 29-year-old Texas native, Muhanad Mahmoud Al Farekh, for allegedly plotting to support al Qaeda military operations against the U.S. Mr. Al Farekh arrived in New York after being deported from Pakistan to face the charges.

All three defendants appeared in federal court Thursday. None of them were asked to enter pleas.

The charges represent the latest in a string in recent months against suspects for allegedly supporting ISIS and other terror organizations. Last week, U.S. authorities arrested an Army National Guard soldier and his cousin in Illinois on charges of trying to join ISIS and carry out attacks on its behalf.

64th Islamist Terror Plot Since 9/11 Shows Continuing Radical Islamist Threat
Last Wednesday, two cousins were arrested in Chicago on charges of conspiring to knowingly provide material support and resources to a foreign terrorist organization. According to the criminal complaint brought against them by the FBI, Army National Guard Specialist Hasan Edmonds planned to travel to Syria to fight with the Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham (ISIS), while his cousin Jonas Edmonds planned to attack the U.S. military installation at which Hasan had trained. Both men were U.S. citizens, and both were radicalized in the U.S.

This attempt by two homegrown terrorists represents the 64th Islamist terrorist plot or attack against the U.S. since 9/11 and should remind policymakers that critical law enforcement and intelligence tools are essential to stopping terrorists before they strike. This event is also the second terrorist plot in the U.S. in which the attacker was primarily inspired by and supportive of ISIS, which demonstrates that what happens in Syria and Iraq does not necessarily stay in Syria and Iraq. Preventing additional terrorist plots requires going beyond U.S. borders to deal with the root of the problem.

Kenya is not in the United States. Nowhere in the article could I find a connection between the 3 people arrested and Kenya.
 
And the two women were arrested by Loretta Lynch--Imagine that ?
