Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl, the U.S. soldier who was recovered in Afghanistan last spring after five years in captivity, faces charges of desertion and misbehavior before the enemy, according to his lawyer. Eugene Fidell, Bergdahl’s attorney, told The Washington Post that his client was handed a charge sheet on Tuesday. Army officials announced they will provide an update in his case at 3:30 p.m. at Fort Bragg, N.C., but declined to discuss new developments ahead of the news conference.

Bergdahl, 28, went missing from his base in Paktika province on June 30, 2009, and is believed to have grown disillusioned with the U.S. military’s mission in Afghanistan. He was held captive in Pakistan by the Haqqani network, an insurgent group allied with the Taliban, until a deal brokered through the government of Qatar was reached last year.

GOOD !!!!!
I hope they throw away the key !!!!

About time, the left will love him and make a movie for him anyway.

Can't believe we let dangerous prisoners go back into the ISIS/al Quaida network for this useless bucket of puke.

I realize hes only been charged-but it looks like the military has the evidence it needs to charge him, the US got the short end of the stick-we released 5 terrorist freaks for what appears to be an America hating nut-one that got American troops killed. And Obama welcomed him and held a bizarre rose garden press conference to announce it.

Perhaps we can expect as good of a deal from Obama on Iranian nukes. In fact, Im counting on it.

That's the best news I've heard in some time. I wonder if Obama face smacked himself when he was notified?
Whoops!!

I just saw that breaking on MSNBC.

Good. He deserves it. It's shameful that we sent dangerous prisoners back in order to rescue that piece of crap.

I don't understand ??

Didn't he serve with " Honor and distinction " .. ?

The evidence, including from prior govt investigations has always been that he deserted-he wrote a note and disappeared.

HOW could our President be so happy to get this guy back, while empowering terrorists with the return of several of their high ranking leaders, and apparently some may be fighting for ISIS now.

Who came out ahead in this "deal", the US or terrorists? :doh

Except when he took a walk outside the wire one night. That wasn't very honorable or distinctive.

The USA didn't get much when it got Bergdahl.

Oh Yes, one of the Greatest trades in Sports history.
We traded Five terrorists biggies for a Deserter.

I mean, we do have a 'leave no man behind policy', but this one really really painful.

BTW, this string was the FIRST of the duplicate OPs/articles.

Yeah he will make someone a fine wife in prison.
Where was the first? I didn't see it?

I care less about the terrorists freed because of this guy than his comrades who were injured or killed looking for him.

I would rather it be our government determining his fate than some terrorist group.

What were the charges? What was the misconduct in front of the enemy? This article is too vague for an outsider to read or make an informed conclusion. I'm also not from the US so bare with me for lack of knowledge on this topic.

I dont know that all of the information has yet been released-this is a military investigation and so it tends to be more secretive.
