Khamenei calls ‘Death to America’ as Kerry hails progress on nuke deal

do you always believe in what politicians tell ?

obviously you are buying the Obama line hook and sinker. The guy who says "you can keep your plan" so convincingly is believed over decades of evidence.....

Yeah, I can see that.....Gruber had t nailed

Who, besides you yourself, has said anything about invading Iran? Your suggestion about the heavy water-and-future-plutonium facility at Arak is as laughable as your melodramatic remark about the boys being home for Christmas. It is very clear from the aerial photos which parts of that facility are essential to making it work, and it would be obvious if bombing had destroyed them. Not many bombs would be needed to do that, either. Of course Fordow would be a target for bombing. And there too, your suggestion that land forces would need to be inserted to verify its destruction is laughable. Tests of the 30,000 lb. bomb make clear it can reliably destroy targets which are that deeply buried. Two that hit their aim points would leave no doubt.

The main threat Hizballah poses comes from several tens of thousands of unguided artillery rockets Iran has supplied it. They are no threat at all to Israel's military, but only a way to murder Israeli civilians from long range. As for HAMAS, if it wants Gaza to be pummeled once again by bombs and tanks and artillery, possibly getting thousands of people there killed, let it start a fight. Any time Israel chose to treat that as a real war, there would be no more HAMAS, and no Gazans either.

Who was the post directed to?

Severing relations was a dumb move.
Pure politics.

FYI:

On September 7, 2012, Canada severed diplomatic ties with Iran, closed its embassy in Tehran, and expelled Iranian diplomats from Canada, citing Iranian foreign policy, support for the Syrian government, violations of human rights, threats against Israel, the Iranian nuclear program, and security concerns for its diplomats in the country. Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper has said that the Iranian government is "unambiguously, a clear and present danger" and that "the appeal of our conscience requires us to speak out against what the Iranian regime stands for."[26] Canadian Minister of Foreign Affairs John Baird announces Canada is breaking diplomatic relations with Iran, Friday, September 7, 2012,[27] Calling Iran "the most significant threat to global peace and security in the world" - Canada's foreign affairs office issued a statement listing grievances with Iran.[28] According to a 2012 BBC World Service poll, only 9% of Canadians view Iran's influence positively, with 81% expressing a negative view.[29] In the Calgary Herald “‘Canada,’ John Baird said, ‘views the government of Iran as the most significant threat to global peace and security in the world today.’”,[30] Canada

n 2003, relations between Canada and Iran drastically deteriorated when Zahra Kazemi was an Iranian-Canadian freelance photographer from Montreal, Canada. During a student protest in June 2003, she was arrested while taking pictures outside a prison in Tehran. Three weeks later, she was killed in custody.[12]

Iranian authorities insist that her death was accidental and that she died of a stroke while being interrogated. However, Shahram Azam, a former military staff physician who used his purported knowledge of Kazemi's case for seeking asylum in Canada in 2004, stated that he examined Kazemi's body and observed obvious signs of torture, including a skull fracture, broken nose, signs of rape and severe abdominal bruising.[12]

Kazemi's death was the first time an Iranian's death in custody attracted wide international attention.[13] Because of her joint citizenship and the circumstances of her death, she aroused international controversy. In November 2003, Canadian Journalists for Free Expression honoured Kazemi with the Tara Singh Hayer Memorial Award in recognition of her courage in defending the right to free expression.[14]

Canada and Iran took the dispute over Zahra Kazemi to the international stage when Canada drafted a United Nations resolution condemning the human rights abuses in Iran and showing concern for Iran's use of torture and other forms of cruel, inhuman and degrading punishment, in particular the practice of amputation and flogging. Gholamhossein Elham, the Iranian judiciary spokesman, was quoted as saying "The Canadian government has the worst, most backward and racist judiciary system." Iran further accused a Canadian police officer of gunning down 18-year-old Iranian Kayvan Tabesh on July 14 in Vancouver, British Columbia. The police officer said he was acting in self-defence after the teenager allegedly charged at him with a machete. Iran also presented a 70-page report before the adoption of the resolution, detailing alleged human rights abuses in Canada in an attempt to discredit the main backer of the resolution.

In a case similar to that of Kazemi, a prominent Canadian-Iranian blogger, Hossein Derakhshan, was detained by police in Tehran in 2008 over remarks he made about the Shiite faith, according to the Iranian Judiciary.[15]http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canada%E2%80%93Iran_relations

Not politics at all. There was and is a direct threat to Canadian citizens by Iran and its agents on Canadian soil.

I am aware of that. Still a dumb move.

Lolz.

Khamenei told a crowd in Tehran that Iran would not capitulate to Western demands. When the crowd started shouting, “Death to America,” the ayatollah responded: “Of course yes, death to America, because America is the original source of this pressure.

Whats it say that French socialists have more balls than Obama?

Yes the French have a more hardline approach with Iran than Kerry and this administration. Speaks volumes. So while Obama addressed the Iranian people on the first day of Spring and Kerry announces great progress in the nuke deal, the people are fired up in the streets shouting death to America as they burn our flag. It's just another Abbott and Costello "Who's on first" moment for this administration .

I wonder if our forums leftists will learn from this? Yeah right-this is what happens when you try to appease evil.

What Leftists will learn? That rightists support the continuation of evil by not wanting to reach peace accords that will improve the situation, that rightists are poster boys for the personnel drive of anti-American forces. Because the words of rightists are the best promotional material for more islamic and other idiots to join those anti-American organizations.

You see, two can play that blame game if you want to go down that road.

Iran is a cat of a different color. Highly educated, booming population, high inflation, no jobs, economy tanking. Iran needs this deal.
It will only take a spark. No interference needed.

Iran doesn't need this deal as long as the US keeps giving them $$$$$$$$$$$$$$.

Iran received $4.2 billion in similar payments under the 2013 interim agreement with the United States and was then given another $2.8 billion by the Obama administration last year in a bid to keep Iran committed to the talks through November, when negotiators parted ways without reaching an agreement.

Iran will have received a total of $11.9 billion in cash assets by the end of June if current releases continue on pace as scheduled.

These cash payments by the United States have been made with no strings attached, prompting concerns that Iran could use the funds to finance its worldwide terror operations, which include the financial backing of Hamas, Hezbollah, and other rogue entities.

The Pentagon estimates Iran has spent $100 to $200 million per year funding Hezbollah.

Entities likely to receive support from Iran include the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) and the regime of President Bashar al-Assad of Syria, the legislation suggests.

When final negotiations between the United States and Iran failed in November, negotiators decided once more to extend the talks through June of this year. The terms of that extension granted Iran the 10 payments of $490 million, a State Department official said.

Obama gives away the farm and liberals say conservatives hate America. :2rofll:

We want real peace not paper promises.

Who has ruled out military means?

And why are you asking 'conservatives', which I am not, how to fix Obama's mess? He's the one lifted sanctions, you socialists are the ones who claimed they weren't working, my government said leave them in place?

Why is it every time Obama screws up, the answer is 'well, smart ass, what would you do?

First? Fire Obama.

Obama will be home in two years, like it or not.

I think asking for the alernative is valid. Otherwise all there is is discontent for the sake of discontent. Iran will be a Republican's problem in 2017. I hope there's an idea by then.

He didn't.

Then you should know that a literal translation means squat.

You're the one who claimed that the literal translation means "down" and even linked to google translate to prove that, I'm the one who's claiming that literal translation means squat. You've got the roles all mixed up here.

Farsi and Persian are the same language. True, Farsi is what the Iranians themselves call their language, but its synonymous with Persian. Like in German, it's Persisch.

Suit yourself. I've made the argument that the phrase is not as "cut and dry" as you'd like it to be, nor as serious as anyone here with a visceral reaction to it believes it to be.

The Iranians call their language Farsi, and you were in the middle of telling us what "Death to America" actually means in Farsi-please continue.

Not a single foreign policy success to his name. While America's leader celebrates Iranian holidays, Iranian leaders are screaming death to America-and the lefties here are telling us how thats a good thing.

I remember thinking WTF but in context, we are in the end phase of liberalism with this administration-the policies have failed, the excuses no longer hold water, and now its just a bunch of incomprehensible spin.

THERE ARE NO PEACE ACCORDS, there is a weak POTUS being punked yet again, and Iran is STILL about to get a nuke, inviting a regional nuclear arms race and a likely strike by Israel when it does.

THATS NOT PEACE, its "PEACE IN OUR TIME"-how did that turn out for Netherlands in WW2?

Pretty much. The senate isn't going to let Obama get away with this one. Yes the policies have been failures. Maybe that is why even at CNN's poll says the majority want a "non-Obama" as a candidate and the majority want to see much of his policies overturned.

Who was the post directed to?

To you. The poster you were responding to had not even implied anyone should send "troops on the ground" into Iran. That was entirely your invention, and you went on to embellish it with other far-fetched imaginings.

Here is one of several informed studies that have been made of possible air attacks on Iran's nuclear weapons facilities, both by the U.S. and by Israel:

CIA Chief Warns Of 'Tremendous' Consequences For Iran

And heres the CIA director today saying Iran better not make a nuke-this despite the fact that the forums lefties say Death to America doesn't mean what it means.

Which you think can be achieved with real war, Of course.

No, that's just your false belief.

Trust but Verify, Strength as leverage. If the enemy knows you are not actually going to do anything, what's to stop them? A written note?

We are not seeking peace with Iran at this moment, we are making a deal on nuclear weapons.

Well, I want wars on honest grounds, not by deceit and lies.

Oh, the old Bush lied people died crap?

I can write you off as a serious poster then. Thank you for letting me know, good day to you sir.
