It's the real thing.

I wonder if we go back to see how many threads you started about Hamas firing missiles into Israeli cities how many we would find. No one knew if the iron dome would work as well as it did. Also one could not be sure Israel would not run out of the interceptors. How many would have been killed if a third of those missiles got through. Would you REALLY care?

Ohhh so now this is about me and what threads I started? Somehow we went from Goebbels to postings? :doh You really uphold Godwins law...

Message from Iran: Tell All Americans We Love Them

No wonder it is easy to convince Americans that Iranians are consumed by hatred and eager to reduce American cities to rubble. Yet Americans brave enough to visit Iran quickly discover Iranians are a friendly, gracious people. They love Americans, and they are not bashful about sharing their affection. Tourists from California said they were amazed by their experience.

No this is what Obama wants. He could care less about Iran does with the money it will receive. Hamas and Hezbollah will get more missiles and he will then cut funding for Israel's iron dome. He is not as stupid as many think.

Is he a feckless wimp or despotic mastermind? You need to pick one.

Don't recall calling him either. He is a shrewd politician.

You're right. I was mixing you and US Conservative.

To be entirely honest, Id be pretty mad at Bibi if I were Obama. Really not smart on Bibi's part either, since we've been pretty much the only thing preventing international condemnation of them.

No question that the wackadoos on the right in Tehran are working to sabotage a deal just like the wackadoos on the right in Washington. It might be nice if the wackadoos could actually come up with a solution to the problem rather than being a part of the problem.

I like your angle, despite knowing how this "deal" would fail, you find a way to blame everyone else.

Classic lefty.

How can people defend this? Appealing to hardliners or not... It would only be a display of extreme weakness to negotiate with a nation where the supreme leader literally is saying death to America.

So I guess if some Republican was just pandering to his base by using racial slurs in a rural primarily white setting notorious for racial violence that's ok? Or what about someone pandering to a Nazi group by calling for Jewish genocide? They're just appealing to hardliners right?

Iran is a theocratic regime with horrible human rights violations, state sponsored terror and nothing really demonstrating that they should be trusted. If any negotiations are to take place the first step the US should take is to have Iranian leaders denounce past comments regarding death to America, death to Israel/Jews and other outrageous things. This is beyond absurd and such a foreign policy blunder if this isn't addressed.

If we're going to avoid speaking to any nation that condones Death to America or Israel we just need to leave the Middle East.

Yes, it is classic lefty, dealing in fact, reality and pragmatics rather than the fantasy world our friends on the other side of the aisle live on...

Kindly tell us your solution.... Likely you have none that does not involve war or some other type of unilateral US action that forgets that the current process actually involves other key members of the world community.

Agree that what Bibi did was self-serving. Put himself in front of what is best for his country. I think he did it because he really believes in the threat to Israel. But he had to realize that the deal is going to happen. Making Israel a partisan issue was stupid. That being said I would hope that Obama is not so thin skinned as to punish all Israelis for it's leader's mistake.

Your negativity is so....depressing. Russia's economy is reeling to do their actions and we are on the verge of a deal to prevent a Nuclear Iran. I mean come on, give Obama at least a little credit.

Obama did okay by letting the EU lose Crimea for the Ukrainians and not doing it himself. But he has not prevented Putin's successful use of the Ukraine thing to make the USA look at least partially responsible for the EU triggered war in Europe.
Russia is paying a low price for grabbing a resource rich coastal area and securing the larges war port Russia maintained there. You are right that this might appear depressing, but it shouldn't for the reasons you seem to identify. What might be depressing is that we elected a man that was so inexperienced in foreign policy and affairs.

Oh. He is not stupid. He went to Harvard, if I recall.

We're talking about nuclear negotiations with a nation that funds terror, has made threats against us and Israel and during negotiations is still saying such things... How is it not a display of naivety and weakness for the US to not address this? How can you expect to negotiate and trust a nation that unapologetically calls for the destruction of your nation and its allies and continues to do so during a negotiation process? It's simply foolish, especially when the nation is known to be a crazy theocracy that funds terror and has a history of human rights violations.

Bibi clearly will do anything to hold onto power. That should certainly be noted. Agreed, Obama shouldn't do anything to rash. And I doubt he will, since he probably has skin of steel after the 6 years of abuse he's received. Although a wrist slap or two is probably in order. Abstain on a UN Resolution expressing displeasure at Israel's actions or something along those lines.

My sense is he is madder than that. Time will tell.

If you go back In History, Iran has every reason to not like us. They have thus far held to their agreements, which is the important thing. Their provocative statement matter little as long as they adhere to what is agreed to.

Most Middle Eastern Nations have made threats against Israel and a good chunk of them have funded terror (Including elements in Saudi Arabia) and most of them have Human Rights Violations in their closets.

Again, if you want to only talk to nations that meet those standards then the Middle East is a dead end. You have to deal with unpleasant characters in Diplomacy, and there's no way around that.

Ah so a 7 year old link makes up for all the Americans they have killed there?

Where? It doesn't make up for anything. But just because you might find a few that don't like America is meaningless. Iranians are pro American.
