Aaron Schock to resign amid spending scandal

Re: Rep. Aaron Schock will resign effective March 31st

Charlie Rangel eats up enough of the "I'm corrupt but they protect me" space in Congress. Maybe when he's finally gone Shock can run again and take his position as Chief Corrupt.

Rangel's FAR from the only one. Go to the CREW (Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington) website sometime. You wouldn't believe what these ****ers get away with.

No can look. You do know about CREW, don't you? David Brock, Melanie Sloan, Mark Penn, Matt Corley, etc. CREW tosses a token Democrat under the bus for every 8 Republicans.

Rangel isn't the only one. But he's the biggest and most famous of recent days. Corrupt to the core.

Re: Rep. Aaron Schock will resign effective March 31st

He may not live forever, but his constituents will certainly vote for him forever.

I just saw that David Corn guy from Mother Jones on MSNBC talking about Shock. Talk about a seamy character. Ew.

Well, back to Shock. Greed catches up to you. Part of Shock's appeal was his newness and freshness. Too bad. Talk about a great future pissed away.

You're right, when the power of the office overwhelms - they do stupid stuff and get caught,
it happens on both sides of the aisle.

Sad they ruin a promising future.

The most recent Most Corrupt List I could find from CREW was 2013, and it was something like 7 Rs and 5 Ds, plus two of each on the dishonorable mention list.

Re: Rep. Aaron Schock will resign effective March 31st

I liked him too. I had a feeling he could've gone very far in politics.
It's too bad it had to end this way.

I agree, from what I have seen he was denying everything... Then this! Innocent people don't resign. Very Troubling.

Re: Rep. Aaron Schock will resign effective March 31st

meh, they all act like royalty, regardless of which half of the duopoly succeeded in gerrymandering their district. in other news, water is wet, and the sky is blue.

So what can this guy do next?

He is young, cute, nice body which must have made him attractive to some people. One has to wonder what made him act the way he did. Did he not realize what he was doing would raise eyebrows? I hope he is made a lesson of to other politicians.

True, he resigned to hide things apparently, but he is not off the hook!. I hope they throw the book at him. It's about time.
