White House office to delete its FOIA regulations[W:84]

Re: White House office to delete its FOIA regulations

And this department in the White House complied, even after the ruling until just now.

The fact is the white house is now less transparent, even as it claims to be the most transparent in history. Its laughable.

Ok fine, give this WH credit for complying even when they had been relieved of the obligation, if that's what makes you feel good. I don't know why the court did that, I wish they hadn't have, and I hope that another court will reverse that soon. I suppose you too would like to see that. If so, you'd best work toward that end. Criticizing the WH for not doing something that they're no longer required to do isn't all that productive.

Once again, you dont understand. I am criticizing the white house for ending what it says it IS doing-being transparent.

Re: White House office to delete its FOIA regulations

The quote was not out of context. The OP topic was that the Obama administration is removing the FOIA regulations that have been in place for 30 years, that is what the highlight said.

You decided that the context should include "b-b-but Boooosh!", deflecting the conversation away from the very real truth that it is the Obama administration that is wholly exempting itself from FOIA.

No, the person who wrote the article decided what the context you would be. You want to excise Bush and HIS administration's violations of transparency completely from the conversation, because otherwise how can you make it all about Obama and, by extension, all liberals?

And you're still wrong about the other thing.

Re: White House office to delete its FOIA regulations

Now be honest Kobie.

It's a significant event when a Sec. State isn't playing by the rules, and hasn't executed the proper documentation, and / or has done things that have run afoul of those every agreements that state can't seem to produce in a timely manner.

Not nearly getting as much air time or column inches as a bunch of other, far less significant stuff. Yeah, seems the Biased Lame Stream Media and their editorial decisions are striking again. Might very well be why so many of the electorate are so clueless about how badly the nation is being led.

You are claiming that the story isn't being reported by the "Biased Lame Stream Media" when it was a mainstream source that reported it. So now you're just complaining that it's not getting as much coverage as you'd like and that, in and of itself, is "bias."

Re: White House office to delete its FOIA regulations

F&L is a liberal, guy. Now what?

It never fails. When defeated some people must resort to smearing a man's nationality. I am surprised at no reference to killing baby seals.

What ALWAYS pisses those people off is that I am an American citizen, born in Canada by American parents and educated in the US.

So living in the "World's Most Livable City" automatically means someone is an ignorant slime, only couched in terms that don't draw negative results.

Frankly I'm ****ing sick of it, anti-Canadianism on a day when our headlines are full of pre-campaign rhetoric as our Prime Minister is proposing to extend the Iraq mission by more than doubling forces on the ground and sending a new batch into Syria to fight alongside Assad.

Yeah who gives a **** about Canada or what anyone here might have gleaned from an un-biased reporting of the news?

Really, you don't get it I'm sure. This WH has never been the most transparent. Even Obama supporters acknowledge this, and it's a big source of disappointment for them as you can see. But you'll need to work to overturn the courts decision that has enabled greater secrecy.

This is the dichotomous key that is how he works. He does not agree with you so you must be bad.

BTW, I am very sorry for the Canadian killed in Iraq last week.

Moderator's Warning:
Debate Politics is a forum that is open to everyone in the world that signs up and wants to comment. You have no clue as to Fearandloathings interests or lifestyle. Nor are you a valid judge as to what someone knows or doesn't know and everyone has a right to their opinion. I do not want to see crap like this ever again.
Who gives a **** what a Canadian thinks about our president, hmm? Do you even have a clue what happens down the street from you? Do you pretend to know what's happening in America? Find something to do, at home, hear?

Re: White House office to delete its FOIA regulations

They definitely aren't the most transparent, but they did reverse most of the shady stuff started in the Bush Administration.

Really? What would that be?

Re: White House office to delete its FOIA regulations

Once a President acquires powers, NSA surveillance is a clear one, they are loath to relinquish it.

This is true. That's why some have predicted that the next WH will be less transparent still.

Thank you.

Hopefully it is not an indication of what's to come....

What I hear, even just in this thread is excuses..."Boosh!" "Its not illegal!", etc.

It just illustrates that even when you agree, you can't agree.

Re: White House office to delete its FOIA regulations

And again, for a group of people who voted for Obama as the not-Bush it is funny to see you all take turns excusing Obama's actions because Bush did them as well.

So this is George Bush's 4th term. We get it.

Not all Obama supporters are excusing him. I've seen criticism from the left for is lack of transparency.

How many more ways can I tell you that Obama's lack of transparency, worse so than Bush now, is hugely problematic, and if not arrested, will leave the next administration worse so. The problem is that it does little good for you to bitch about it. It's his base of supporters that need to demand better.

They all offer wishes in one hand and **** in the other.
Either way, either party you get reamed.

You are the first to attack on behalf of Obama, now you are telling me you dont agree. Im telling YOU that you define yourself by the stands you make.

What does that mean, "attack on behalf of"? I'm a pretty big Obama critique, you should know by now. Listen, you'd have a far more credible voice if you'd hold your own party accountable for wrong doing. Anybody can criticize the opposition. Learn that, practice it, and you'll have cred.

Re: White House office to delete its FOIA regulations

Amazing how the US in the last 4 elections, elected and reelected idiots. And yes Obama is an idiot as was Bush. 1st term for Obama bad times understanadble, but his foreign policy sucks.
Reading today how Hillary they are looking to raise a Billion dollars.
Your ancestors picked the wrong form of Govt. Should have gone with a Parliamentarian democracy.
Not sure but I do think that was also considered.
Now I am sue I will receive FLAK.
So I have flak proofed my monitor.

Lol. I won't give you flak for that, you could be right, and I could see some benefits to that.

o yes do be careful...

But I ask anyone even remotely familiar with the Parliamentary system how Clinton, Bush or Obama could have survived having to face on-the-record-lose-your-job-if-you-lie questions from the entire elected assembly of the whole country every day?

No one could ever say "if you like your plan..." knowing it was wrong, if said in the House, and it is untrue, out you go...Prime Ministers, Senators, Ministers of the Crown and MP all...

Much in the same way we received non answers from Chretien to Harper.
What was that idiots name, Calandra - That is the issue we have with question period.
And has yet to be fully addressed.
I prefer the British model, not sure if you were referring to that model. As there the PM has his /her feet to the fire.

I would like to see out Parliament a bit more powerful than it is. I believe it was Chandra....

I have no real issue about their escape routes, but the point being that they are held accountable. because of Question Period, and more and more the committees, we don't see Clintonian denials under oath go unpunished. Brian Mulroney never once lied in the house, yet his moniker is "lyin' Brian'....

People can see through the gloss when questioned skillfully and directly.

BTW, Mulcare is campaigning in Vancouver today, and the Greens have a serious push poll "survey" running...there are growing election winds..

May month, Duffy trial begins in April and would be ongoing, and Harper meets his 4 year elections promise.
That is my bet.
