It looks as though the most transparent administration in the history of the union is caught with their pants down around their ankles again...

Seriously, does this administration give a damn about the principals this country was founded on?

Associated Press Threatens Legal Action Over Request for Hillary Clinton Information
By RAVI SOMAIYA
MARCH 4, 2015

The Associated Press said Wednesday that it was considering legal action over unfulfilled Freedom of Information Act requests for government documents covering Hillary Rodham Clinton’s tenure as secretary of state.

In its requests, the AP asked for her full schedules and calendars and for details on the State Department’s decision to grant a special position to a longtime Clinton aide, Huma Abedin, among other documents. The oldest request, the news organization said, was made in March 2010.

“We believe it’s critically important that government officials and agencies be held accountable to the voters,” said AP’s general counsel, Karen Kaiser. “In this instance, we’ve exhausted our administrative remedies in pursuit of important documents and are considering legal action.”

Did the founders make public all of their personal and official correspondences, daily schedules, and reasons for appointments and hiring practices? I don't think so. Of course, back then, we weren't a nation of busybodies.

I am still waiting for them to respond to my FOIA requests for the nuclear launch codes. I probably should follow up on that :2razz:

The FOIA is silly as is preserving all these records. Damn, Nixon.

Don't you need probable cause to invade someone's privacy like this? Other than the right's Benghazi Tourette's, which is definitely not sufficient to establish probable cause, is there any basis for this?

They didn't have email, but many did save their correspondence. Washington thought of it as preserving his legacy.

There's really no question that Clinton should have used official email. I don't know if it actually violated the law, but AFAIK it was a violation of protocol.

Of course, many administrations pulls stunts like this, including the Bush administration losing almost 5 million emails in 2007; they were (surprise!) using a private email server, very likely to avoid scrutiny. Partisan die-hards might want to keep that in mind, as I don't recall any Republicans demanding Bush leave office because of that issue.

Whats Hillary hiding, and why is the left defending this?

When the liberal bus full of Bs, the AP turns against the MSM in its partisan protection of the Obamas and Clintons,.......it is not a good day.

No, she is a public official creating public documents while paid by public money. The public has a right to know what their elected officials are doing.

Because they know she is hiding something.

Re: Associated Press Threatens Legal Action Over Request for Hillary Clinton Informat

Because they know she is hiding something.

She is already in Contempt Of Congress for not supplying those emails in the Benghazi request. She is going down if that sniveling Boehner had a spine,....so I give Hillary even odds.

If it depends on Boehner having a spine, Hillary can sleep like a baby. Not a care in the world.

Re: Associated Press Threatens Legal Action Over Request for Hillary Clinton Informat

If the administration and the left want to get rid of these "witch hunts", then toss the documents that have been requested, subpoened, and begged for on the table. Stop pleading the fifth, stop conveniently losing cell phones and causing multiple hard drives to crash on the same day. Stop sending the entire spokespeople group out on the same Sunday to float a video as a cause when you know it to be a lie.

Either the Republicans will find nothing and come off looking like the idiots you believe they are, or somebody(s) will end up in deep sh"t.

I believe the liberals are aware which would turn out to be correct.

Privacy?

It's government business.

And, dear leader has guaranteed the most open and accountable administration in the history of the United States...so cough 'em up and quit bitching, Obama promised.....:lamo

No doubt, she can sleep like a baby!!!! The incoming Rep Controlled House had a decisive mandate, and they caved and re-elected that spineless whiny douche-bag RINO Boehner as House leader?????? Are you kidding me?

I'm sure you felt the same way about transparency when Bush was in office.

The Clinton e-mail story has zero to do with the President's transparency--as you know--it's all on HRC.
Maddow broke the story on Monday night without covering for HRC fyi.
O'Donnell followed with criticism and wondered if she'd address it Tuesday night at her Emily's list speech.

Matthews correctly stated tonight that the Emily's speech was not the appropriate place to answer this problem.
Only one lefty on Matthews tried to cover HRC and she was lame.

The lefty New York Times blared this story on its front page the last two days.
Its reporter on Matthews tonight was hard-hitting and straight-forward.
Using a private server certainly brings up the danger of her e-mails being hacked.

Besides Benghazi Gowdy, you've hear very little from GOP politicians since they have their own e-mail accounts also--article is on Politico.

I'll give you an update on how FOX and the Special Report with/Bret Baier handled the story if you want one .

Since the left broke the story on Maddow Monday night followed by criticism from O'Donnell, you'd be wrong about the left defending HRC.
And the lefty New York Times has run the story front-page the last two days.
And I've heard only one lefty speaker on MSNBC try to defend HRC--and she was put in her place on Matthews.

You really need to hear exactly what the left is saying before spewing your usual incorrect anti-lefty noise.

Except for Gowdy, you've heard little from GOP politicians since they may have their own skeletons in their private e-mail accounts.

And I know exactly what the Cons are saying, since I watch the Special Report with Bret Baier when I am home .

Nimby, did Hillary work for the Obama administration or not? If she did-its another failure of his administration to be the most transparent. Im sure you'd agree.

Lolz nimby I was talking about here on the forum-lots of deflection (conservatives are being busybodies, they do it too, you are just doing this for politics, we already know, what difference does it make, etc).

Yes it seems like they are in full deflection mode. Do you think this is good for Hillary? Will you still vote for her? (yes you will)

If she thinks she's going to run for POTUS without being properly vetted she's delusional.

Mornin Grim. :2wave: What have they been waiting for?

Dec 11, 2014.....

Several news outlets seeking to vet the Democratic Party’s most prominent presidential candidate, Hillary Clinton, have encountered some difficulties. According to the Associated Press, the State Department is stonewalling several media organizations who have requested government documents pertaining to Clinton’s tenure as Secretary of State. The Freedom of Information Act, enacted in 1966 by then president Lyndon B. Johnson, stipulates that: According to the AP, the State Department has also been avoiding its FOIA requests for years:

The AP requested copies of Clinton's full schedules and calendars from her four years as secretary of state; her department's decision to grant a special position for longtime aide Huma Abedin; Clinton's and the agency's roles in the Osama bin Laden raid and National Security Agency surveillance practices; and her role overseeing a major Defense Department contractor. The AP made most of its requests last summer, although one was filed in March 2010.....snip~
