TEL AVIV — Hours after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu set off Sunday for Washington, a group of 180 retired Israeli generals and former top security officials warned that his upcoming address to a joint meeting of Congress on Iran’s nuclear program will cause more harm than good.
It will not only damage Israel’s special relationship with the United States, but also undermine military and intelligence ties, they said.

Rather than slowing down Iran’s nuclear project, the former security officials said, Netanyahu’s speech Tuesday will bring the Islamic republic closer to developing a nuclear bomb.
“When the Israeli prime minister argues that his speech will stop Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons, he is not only misleading Israel — he is strengthening Iran,” Amnon Reshef, former head of the army’s armored corps, said at a news conference Sunday.

Netenayahu has been making the same claims since 1992. He has been claiming that "Iran is years away from a bomb" since 1992. Now finally people are waking up to his BS, and calling him out that going to the US to make the same claims is only going to be destructive.

Won't you ever stop with the stupid statements. That Iran does not want a bomb. You yelp and open threads if an Israeli buys an apartment in Jerusalem, yet could care less if Iran is able to build a bomb.

Do you live in the Midwest of Iran, or do you just agree with their wish to annihilate Israel?

They must be anti-Semites.

 I guess Mossad just wants to "annihilate Israel" because they stated the same thing, that Iran is not taking the steps forward to create a nuclear weapon

Same people that fund Code Pink are funding these washed up leftists...

The American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) is a pro-Israel lobbying group that advocates policies to Congress and the Executive Branch of the United States.

AIPAC has been called “the most important organization affecting America’s relationship with Israel,”[6] and one of the most powerful lobbying groups in the US.

The annual AIPAC conference kicked off today in Washington DC.

Several pro-Palestinian and far left groups are targeting the conference this year. Code Pink activists had a house packed with far left activists last night ready to disrupt

And how does this tie Commanders for Israel's Security to them?

Just days after the Obama White House accused House Speaker John Boehner of “breaking protocol” by inviting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to address a joint session of Congress, a team of up to five Obama campaign operatives has reportedly arrived in Israel to lead a campaign to defeat the Israeli Prime Minister in upcoming national elections scheduled for March 17.

The anti-Netanyahu, left wing Israeli newspaper Haaretz reports a group called “One Voice,” reportedly funded by American donors, is paying for the Obama campaign team. That group is reportedly being led by Obama’s 2012 field director Jeremy Bird.

As Jerusalem Post columnist and putative Knesset candidate Caroline Glick reported on her Facebook page, “Obama won’t meet Benjamin Netanyahu in Washington when he addresses the Joint Houses of Congress in March because of Netanyahu’s visit’s proximity to the Israeli elections. And Obama, of course believes in protocol and propriety which is why he won’t get involved.” And yet, Glick adds, “He’s just sending his 2012 field campaign manager to Israel to run a campaign to defeat Netanyahu.”

Other than their goal to acquire a nuclear weapon, [of course they want one] they have been the leading sponsor of ME terrorism which affects the Israelis on a day basis.

Bibi has ever right to believe they want to destroy Israel.

well... as always that was quite easy...

checkmate..

 I guess Mossad just wants to "annihilate Israel" because they stated the same thing, that Iran is not taking the steps forward to create a nuclear weapon

The Mossad has never stated that.
It stated that Iran doesn't hold nukes currently, but that it's nearing the stage where it could start the process to get them and do it quite quickly.
Which is, if we're downplaying the usual propagandists' claims (i.e. you), exactly what Netanyahu has been saying for the last three years or so.

Regarding the OP; these veterans clearly know less than Netanyahu and his administration knows regarding Iran, and the timing seems to be elections related as usual. (This list aligning with the Israeli left)

Greetings, Travis007. :2wave:

They can't say the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing, can they? No one is ever at fault - until it is proven that lies were told. Orwell described the process very well in 1984, where black is white and up is down, etc. We have so many "politically correct" words nowadays that it's hard to track of them, and we seem to lurch from one crisis after another ad nauseam. How many "non wars" are we involved in today - six, seven? Why are were alienating our allies - Canada among them? WTH is going on with all the divisiveness we're seeing today - which is generating protests against the "haves" (who pay most of the taxes around here) by the "have-nots," blacks against the Hispanics, EPA rules against businesses who provide jobs for people; and on and on. I'm a history buff, and this is very similar to what happened to other great civilizations like Egypt and Rome. Are we to follow them over our own edge of the cliff? I wonder what our future will look like...

And when they confirm it in their own words, it's a given to the rest of the world, too!

A representative republic won't last without an engaged, educated populace. One merely has to ask around how many people know their state senator? Their Governor? Can you name 3 sitting members of the House, the Senate and the Supreme Court. Ask 10 people, at random where they get their news from and be prepared for shock at how few HAVE AN ANSWER FOR THAT. Yet they can tell you the latest gossip from hollywood, who Snooky last banged and what's on Comedy Central tonight...

Putting aside the LEFT Vs RIGHT/ Progressive Vs Republican and just look at that.

That's why we're doomed. This nation will fall, and it will fall hard and fast. The writing has been on the wall for a generation. 18 Trillion in debt isn't some abstract number it's a ****ing alarm screaming in our faces.

Mock my words if you want, but we can ill afford much more idiocy of "Washington DC Knows best". Jeb Bush, Warren, Clinton.... any of those three people get's the presidency and it's game over IMHO. The fall will be ugly, and those that cheered our rush to it will be the first to panic, the first to turn to despotic rule. History teaches this, history is one mother of a tough grader.

Greetings, MrVicchio. :2wave:

I am also quite concerned about America losing our "favored nation" status because of our petro dollar agreement with other countries. As you know, China, and possibility Russia, are campaigning hard for a basket of currencies backed by gold, and many large countries have joined with them. Our dollar will probably be a part of that "basket," but maybe only a small part. This will affect our standard of living negatively, IMO. With our $18 trillion in debt, and with the IMF reputedly studying the proposal with some interest, what are people going to do if and when it happens? A large part of our populous has forgotten how to take of themselves, and that is another alarm ringing. People lived through the Great Depression, but it wasn't easy by any stretch of the imagination. Do you have any thoughts on what can be done to prepare people for the possibility that this may occur sooner than anyone expects it to? Both parties have continued to recklessly spend money we don't have, so I'm not singling anyone out - everyone shares the blame.

They first have to realize that this dream state of "Debt is not big deal" has to end. I'm ready to run for the hills myself. I have family, and land I can live off of if **** goes down. But most of these people who think being without a cell phone is cruel and inhuman punishment? I don't see much of a future. The OWS type protests will sweep across the land, society will break down and some strong, "I have the answers" person will rise up and the starving, scared masses will beg this person to make the chaos stop. FDR got his rise because of fear, and hopelessness. But there was a stronger sense of duty, pride of country and self. This prevented a bad turn of events.

Today? With how many kids are taught America is just a bad country with many sins? Taught to rely on others to care for them?

Ripe for the picking, and we have no one to blame but ourselves if it happens.
