IRS watchdog reveals Lois Lerner missing emails now subject of criminal probe

Why are there no liberals posting on this thread?

Because that is the M.O.

Bitch and moan when the scandal breaks. Claim, repeat, and produce in the media that there is no scandal here. Then when the truth comes out scatter like roaches when a light is turned on.

The IRS has opened a criminal investigation? The same IRS that insisted the emails were "lost" due to a "hard drive crash", and called the whole thing a "witch hunt"? That IRS??

Why is the IRS investigating itself? Its already proven itself unethical and biased. Garbage in, garbage out.

This is why you get sloppy, self centered presidents and a corrupt congress.

Baa baaa is what you are doing "oh me, oh my, oh dear, things will never change....what's the use."

When about half the country can't be bothered to even vote, you get ****-for-brains government and the people who sit on their hands are responsible. I run into this here and 99% of the time the whiners have never voted and sure as hell never made it to an all candidates meeting to raise ****. Start asking the hard questions of the douche bags who represent the parties at the grass roots level. When you make things uncomfortable for them, the incompetent run away.

Exactly. We get the govt we deserve. Increased scrutiny and participation makes things better, not worse.

If people want a gruber govt, they need not do much.

To ensure that the bad guys/gals chosen to become the scapegoats will not lead to anyone very important. Do you trust Holder (or his hand picked replacement) to do a better job?

Back in the late 80's the right in Canada was in chaos. Incompetent leadership, few if any could tell the difference between them and the middle party [sound familiar?]...and the corrupt had easy sway.

Arose a funny little man with a squeaky voice and his idea of a Reform party. Technically they were "right wing" but embraced a whole new way of looking at funding social programs....enablements not entitlements etc.

We were laughed at. Preston Manning was dismissed because he had a squeaky voice and we were out of a scary and forgotten place on Canada's landscape....."the west" which until then was thought of an treated like a colony of Canada...here have the world's best wheat, cheap oil and the two of the hottest economies in ten and can we maybe, one day have representation based on population or something close to it...?

Ten years later, Preston Manning was the leader of Her Majesty's Loyal Opposition and was demanding change. He once said "all new reform goes through the same political process. First the establishment parties laugh at you, then they lie about you, then they steel your ideas". And he was right. As a result of his pounding and growing following, on reducing the deficit.
Manning and Reform were never government but reshaped the core of Canada. We have among the lowest deficit in the world, the most secure and envied central banking system, and a completely new structure, one I maintain is far more efficient as a direct result of Reform.

My experience at the local level was we started as five at a strip bar and decided what the hell......

In awhile we were 50, then 200 and we were picking a candidate and wouldn't you know, myself and the other four were dumped from the executive.....some people with more experience showed up. That's successful politicking. We never won this eat, but we scared a bad woman out of it...and overall we changed a lot.

The problem is in the US a third party immediately goes for the presidency...which has not worked. If they start grass roots, select a few seats they can win and run good candidates they will have a foothold. No revolution happened overnight

I of course do not, which is why we need an independent committee with teeth to do this.
Perhaps a republican congress can pull it off.

They cannot even do their own job an pass basic budget bills on time.

Amen

They said they would bring regular order back to Washington, that they would demonstrate that they could govern - instead the "we hate Obama and everything he wants" rhetoric continues unabated

The Republican leadership, House and Senate, cannot get out of their own way at this point

The more I witness what is going on in this Presidency, the more I marvel at the level of integrity and doggedness both in the media and in Congress itself that was evident during President Nixon's second term in office. I have great respect for those in the Republican Party who participated fully in the investigation and abandoned their President for the benefit of the country. I also, conversely, feel sorry for President Nixon - a man who did many good things in office but was held to a far higher standard than the man in office today.

But for the foolishness of trying to impeach Clinton, I have no doubt that President Obama would be under impeachment investigation.

Give them time, they are new to this. But if they can't-I can not support them.

Time is something that they do not have, if they want to demonstrate to the U.S. voters that they should retain control of the Senate and House in 2016, to say nothing of urgent things that need to get done regards the economy, healthcare, tax reform etc etc etc

No they are out of time, it is time for them to act like adults and public servants and do the peoples' business

Nothing would give me more confidence in our faltering system of government and justice than seeing both of those smug assholes put in jail on criminal charges, should there be evidence to do so, of course. :fueltofir

The emails show collusion to destroy government property/archives (hard-drives). At the very least, they are going to prison for that.

The trick here is to make sure NOT to prosecute these two until after Obama leaves office, because you know that slimy bastage will pardon them in exchange for their silence.

They have been in office a month. There is time, but it is theirs to lose at this point.
If the republicans are useless out of power, and useless in power they aren't going to get my vote.

Do you have a link to this collusion?

Be patient, the FCC Net Neutrality Regs have not been released yet. Though that lying SOS Obama promised 'there is not a smidgeon of corruption', the WH continues to refuse to release the emails on their side, that will corroborate what they have from Lerner and the other slimy bureaucrat at the IRS . For the 'most transparent administration in history' to release their emails will take another Freedom Of Information Act which is running its course.
