Your mom's quality of life was good enough for her that perhaps she didn't want to die and she didn't.
For me, the second I lose my independence is the second I want to die. Whether that is at 70 years old or four freaking hundred years old. Quality of life for me is important, and the second I reach the age that it deteriorates t such a horrific level is the second I will pull my own goddamn plug if I have to.
