Re: ISIS present in All 50 states, FBI director says
I love the extremist reaction in this thread.
Libertarians, as usual, are paranoid about some tiny little movement restriction or tiny little government size increase to their usual over-reactive degree, so they start pooh-poohing the U.S. ISIS presence with ridiculous comparisons, as if should some atrocity happen to only a mere handful of their fellow Americans at the hands of ISIS then that, that would probably be acceptable statistically.
Liberals, social liberals, especially the male social liberals, they're all aligned with the libertarians, sharing, as they do, left-wing social values that advocate extremes of freedom over any sensible security measures.
Even the economic-fiscal liberals, many being female, or femalesque, who would otherwise side with their man Obama, they're wondering a bit who's gonna pay for the stepped up security, and whose government dole might get shrunk as a consequence.
Then there's the social conservatives, and social conservatives in "libertarian-right" clothing, who are darn sure the sky is falling
right now, so double-up the National Guard, Homeland Security, every defense, and oust all the Muslims.
And, as usual, the fiscal conservatives are wondering what the tax increase will be to do so.
Meanwhile, if Republicans are for stepped up security .. the Democrats are against it.
Yes, it's almost kind of fun to watch the ideologues perform accordingly on cue.
Me .. well, as a
true centrist in both position and designated "lean" as used on this site, ISIS has my attention, not just because it has so many other Americans' attention, or because of the extreme atrocities they commit and distribute on social media ..
.. But because I am quite aware of just how many tens of thousands of hurting Iraqi civilians there are, and other similar situated Middle Easterners, and their sympathizers so religiously aligned throughout the world .. and in the U.S.
There's a lot of rage out there .. and it's likely to politically land somewhere where the blame is easy.
Plus I'm aware of the latest science tech in miniature nukes and chemical weapons ...
But, as a centrist, I'm pretty much taking a balanced approach on the matter.
Let's just watch and see .. and wait first for a domestic atrocity before going off half-cocked in all directions.
We're probably in a similar situation now to what Europe was experiencing in the early 1930s.
So let's just wait and see what develops.
Oh, I know some have said that some Americans have already lost their heads to ISIS .. but that's over there; it hasn't happened
here yet, so it's not a real "domestic" issue.
For now, let's just neither ignore the threat or ridiculou$ly over-react to it.
Let's just put it in its proper historical perspective ..
.. And wait and see.
Right?
