US, NATO Troops Parade Near Russian Border in Estonia

Is it not true that we have, on paper and from what most people believe, the strongest military in the world?

"rah rah rah"

Nationalism, deal with it. There are American nationalists, that's a thing.

Yes dear, there are.

Thats absolutely true. I think Putin realizes he has a window here, the next two years before the 2016 presidential elections-to make whatever moves he's going to make. Nato needs a strong leader, it does not have that in Obama.

So what do you propose be done other than complaining about Obama?

I honestly feel we have taken our eye off the ball here and are ignoring a far greater danger to world peace

ISIS/L? We have something for them and it's coming soon, if need be US troops will take command of Iraqi's to help them get their balls back.

20 thousand + force destined for Mosul and air power not from the US but from Jordan, Egypt, and Syria.

We need a potus who can lead, get europe together (as best as possible), move military forces to the area. Call out Putin directly and let him and Russia know that this wont be tolerated (they think we imposed sanctions just to be mean). Commit to our allies and provide the highest tech weapons. Continue with the economic side.

Basically nothing that will work with Obama in power. :2wave:

Heres where you say it wont work despite the limp wristed tactics of our POTUS already failing.

Vladolf Putler over played his hand, the Ruble declines to record lows weekly as the US dollar hits record highs with the US actually starting to be a net energy exporter once again.

Thats true but as I understand it he's still quite popular in Russia. And then there's that state run media.

It's a cult of personality, once these people hit the bread lines "dear leader putin" aint going to put food in their stomachs. An undiversified economy can not stand up to random fluctuations in prices.

Its going to take quite a bit more before they get to that point. But also they are used to that-many grew up in the USSR.

Thats right. The Russians seem predisposed towards despotic regimes all the way back to Ivan the Terrible. This for them represents 'strong' leadership. Genuine democracy is something they seem happy to discard because they've never really had it ,and so don't really understand it. This seems to be part of their national psyche sadly

we aren't going to war with Russia. bring our troops home, and nation build here.

They have long been like that, seeming backwards and course to well before the USSR. Theres also some national insecurity over seeming this way, compared to the west.

I wonder if popularity and media can help with Russian hungry stomach?

It has in the past. The Stalinist agricultural collectivisations of the 1930s which starved to death millions in the countryside had no effect whatsoever on the retention of his leadership. To Russians it matters little if their leaders are wrong it only matters that they are percieved to be strong

You mean closet Nazis..

Fun fact, United States best of the best (special operations), learned everything from British SAS. US special operation will never be better then them.

For once we agree ! The SAS are the best there is but they are a very small group

Didn't your mother ever teach you.. size doesn't matter. ;)

So their nationalistic pride overcomes the biological necessities of feeding? How backwards! Wonder if they consider mass starvation to death as worthy or as a "patriotic act" to support their leaders with their deaths or so!

Elaborate on "best of the best."

Delta force? SEALS (who I thought get trained in Israel/with Israelis...)? Rangers?

Spec ops are a small facet of the larger picture. Even if the SAS were better, the British military is vastly inferior to that of the USA's military.
