CNN/ORC poll: Majority of Americans oppose Netanyahu invite [W:218, 239]

Re: CNN/ORC poll: Majority of Americans oppose Netanyahu invite [W:218]

I still get a kick out of the "poll".

There is no way, not a friggen CHANCE that "the majority of Americans" even know who Netenyahu is and even less know anything about the circumstances of his visit. Half the people in this country don't even know the name of the Vice President for Christ sake.

I do not believe Obama to be anti-Israel. And Israel should return to the '67 borders, after all, two peoples have to live in that area. The way Israel keeps gobbling up occupied land which belong to the Palestinians leads one to seriously believe Israel does not want two states. The international community eventually will begin to impose sanctions on Israel: crimes against humanity and the continued stealing of Palestinian land; there will be nothing the US can do to stop this. You are against criticism of Israel and think they can do no wrong. I am at the opposite end of the spectrum in this perception.

Well he is, and considering the exponential increase in new rocket attacks that would occur right after they reset their borders, supporting a return to 1967 borders is a very anti-Israel position.

Obama knows this, and so does lurch ( John Kerry ).

And the " International Community " is representitve of a bunch of anti-American despots and dictators taking up perfectly good space at the UN Headquarters in Ny.

They can impose away, they still lack the credibility and the moral authority to be taken seriously by anyone other than their authortarian peers.

Let the representitives from Cuba cast the first vote for sanctions against Israel based on " crimes against humanity "....Lol

interesting on its own

perhaps even more interesting.

When looking at these two in concert,
Are we finally seeing a shift in the general populace with respect to our policies with Israel?

Still ashamed that Congress gave into Netanyahu's cheap election ploy.

Like anyone is really going to take a CNN poll seriously.

Re: CNN/ORC poll: Majority of Americans oppose Netanyahu invite [W:218]

Lol !!

Yes, the " majority " of Americans oppose Bibbi's invite...

BULL !! Sounds like a bunch of leftwing drivel and sour grapes.

CNN is well known for oversampling democrats.

Yea because thats all I hear folks in my neck of the woods talking about. Every person I run across.

How they oppose Bibbi coming over without going through Obama first.

Its all they're literally talking about....Lol

Its such a ridiculous assertion that I'm surprised CNN tried to pull it off.

Sheesh, Obama's position on the 1967 borders is the same as Pappy Bush, Clinton and W.

I don't remember Bush Sr or Clinton publicly declaring that Israel should return to its 1967 Borders.

But even if they did it doesn't absolve Obama.

Its a stupid and irresponsible foreign policy assertion especially when you consider what happened the last time Israel gave up any substantial land in the name of " peace ".

It was rocketed directly by Hammas.

I suspect outside of these forums few give a **** and even fewer even know who Netanyahu is.

Re: CNN/ORC poll: Majority of Americans oppose Netanyahu invite [W:218]

Lots of people on the right are strongly anti-Obama.

But they're going to have to live with him until another Democrat takes his place.

The GOP has 2 chances of taking over the White House = Slim and none.

I am delighted that the left is so foolishly overconfident. However I do recall them stating that the GOP was not about to take a majority of either house of congress in 2010 and that dems were going to hold onto the senate and turn back the GOP gains in the house in 2014. It kind of reminded me of the Bagdad Bob character in the 2003 invasion of Iraq.

Two peoples do live in that area..

For once when you peoples adopt Obama talking points, do some research. The prick lies 50% of the time and is wrong the other. There is no basis since 1973 that makes a valid case for Israel to return to the arbitrary boundaries assigned to them by Britain. Since Israel was almost wiped off the map the overwhelming majority of sane individuals insist Israel's survival depend on the current boundaries, as prescribe in a legal cease fire and following peace treaties....

No one other than anti-Israeli forces and Obama want that. Further the stupid idea has been shot down by EVERY one of America's allies, all of NATO and the G-20, including Canada and Mexico.

It will never happen, it's merely another wedge issue for Obama to make himself look like a liberator of Islam

Re: CNN/ORC poll: Majority of Americans oppose Netanyahu invite [W:218]

I won't quote the whole thing, but that article misses the point entirely. No one actually cares that BOEHNER broke protocol. Who gives a crap - he's the GOP Speaker and part of his daily job description is throwing bricks at the POTUS.

The controversy is that Ambassador Dermer and Bibi went along with it.

Oh, and Netanyahu is supposed to show some kind of loyalty to Obama because why? Obama been such a great friend and admirer to Israel? He is working a deal that puts Israel in mortal danger for goodness sake.

The point was he articulated a decades long U.S. position, which you asserted was evidence he was anti-Israel. It's not anything like evidence of his "anti-Israel" bias whether you agree or not, and the hardliners in Israel have long opposed that U.S. position.

Its a stupid and irresponsible foreign policy assertion especially when you consider what happened the last time Israel gave up any substantial land in the name of " peace ".

OK, but if there is to be a two state solution, there has to be a starting point for those borders. That starting point has been the 1967 borders.

Because why? Because Obama is the head of state and is the person conducting foreign policy on behalf of the U.S., and Israel needs the U.S. and therefore Obama in their corner. The other option is 2/3 of the Congress.

We're gonna win!

It's like a high school football game. The cheerleaders have to keep spirits high even when its a 6 - 0 hockey game with two minutes left.

Check back to last November, right up till election day "Obama will gain in the Senate and get back the house!'

Has anyone asked these predictors exactly HOW Obama's democrats or any of them, will win it all back?

Who will be the one to run against the Republicans with Obama's record of disaster? Hillary?

Yeah, we will have Obama around for two years....and so will the American people. And by the time the Dems go looking for a sacrificial lamb, the Republicans will have a truckload of job creating bills that have been vetoed by the man who has "enemies".

Re: CNN/ORC poll: Majority of Americans oppose Netanyahu invite [W:218]

Bibi doesnt care.. he will run again like he has before it he loses.. but he will never not protect Israel

People chose Neville Chamberlain over Winston Churchill at one point.

Again, don't care to argue whether it's a viable solution or not but it has been U.S. policy for over 20 years, predating Obama by the three previous Presidents - Bush, Clinton, Bush now Obama. They have all also (including Obama) assumed those boundaries were the starting point, not the end point, for reasons you outline presumably.

Name one person in the GOP who has a reasonable chance to win in 2016.

BTW: Obamacare, AKA the Affordable Care Act, is still in business despite numerous failed attempts by the GOP to do away with it.

"Better days are coming." ~ But not for today's out of touch, running out of time, GOP.

the US isn't the problem, Obama is....And I am not so sure that Obama is conducting foreign policy on behalf of the US either.

Yeah, well, I know you don't like it but Obama is the POTUS, and it's Obama and his delegates who ARE conducting foreign policy on our behalf, whether you agree with it or not.

Well, that is the job title. Just not so sure that the path they are taking is in our best interest. And it's not that I don't "like" Obama. That is just a backdoor way to call me a racist. I don't know the man personally to like him or not....I think he is incompetent.

You misread the post - I said you don't like it that Obama is POTUS (I'm assuming you voted for someone else, which seems like a safe bet), not that you didn't "like" the POTUS personally. And if I'd intended to call you a racist I'd have done so directly.

LOL. Saying you don't like Obama on a personal level (which wasn't said) is "just a backdoor way of calling you racist"? That's absurd.

Re: CNN/ORC poll: Majority of Americans oppose Netanyahu invite [W:218]

Neutral slant, and no, GWB was a disastrous president.

And if Obama was not fit for office, then the republicans should have put up a decent candidate. If Obama was such a disaster and not fit for office, what does that say about the dunces the republicans put forward?

suffice to say you dont live in the USA and are a liberal..
