CNN/ORC poll: Majority of Americans oppose Netanyahu invite - CNN.com

http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2015/images/02/17/rel2d.netanyahu[1].pdf

The nationwide poll, released Tuesday, shows 63% of Americans say it was a bad move for congressional leadership to extend the invitation without giving President Barack Obama a heads up that it was coming. Only 33% say it was the right thing to do.

interesting on its own

And as the Israeli-Palestinian conflict continues to simmer in the Middle East, the survey found that a similar majority thinks the U.S. should stay out of that fight altogether.

perhaps even more interesting.

When looking at these two in concert,
Are we finally seeing a shift in the general populace with respect to our policies with Israel?

Still ashamed that Congress gave into Netanyahu's cheap election ploy.

I am ashamed also. The Speaker of the House, John Boehner, is in the clutches of the Tea Party which seems to have taken over the Establishment Republicans. The Tea Party is the group most irreconcilably opposed to President Obama because he is different; hence, they never miss an opportunity to use vindictive spite against this current US president.

re: CNN/ORC poll: Majority of Americans oppose Netanyahu invite [W:218]

Yeah I really don't see why Congress thought it was appropriate to bring in the guy in the middle of an election. We should try to stay out of the democratic process of other nations as much as possible.

re: CNN/ORC poll: Majority of Americans oppose Netanyahu invite [W:218]

Lol !!

Yes, the " majority " of Americans oppose Bibbi's invite...

BULL !! Sounds like a bunch of leftwing drivel and sour grapes.

I have a different take on the OP quotes of:

"The nationwide poll, released Tuesday, shows 63% of Americans say it was a bad move for congressional leadership to extend the invitation without giving President Barack Obama a heads up that it was coming. Only 33% say it was the right thing to do."

The poll only says 63% say it was a bad move to invite without giving the President a heads up. It does not say it was bad move to invite Netanyahu to speak.

One needs to really look close at how poll questions are asked and how summaries are written.

Not surprising at all. The President has used his bully pulpit very effectively the last several weeks.

Wonder what all the effort was about. Why not talk about the great deal he is about to sign with his new best friend in Iran.

The big deal is Obama is about to go chummy with Iran and that's going to start a ME arms race. Obama's too stuck on his stupid with foreign policy to see the fail train and Bibi's gonna mess his little party up.

Yes, the Tea Party is opposed to Obama because he is very different from previous Presidents, and has done the seemingly impossible by being worse than Jimmy Carter. If you voted for this guy twice you have good reason to be ashamed.

Congress and the Senate must do an end run around this incompetent President before he completely destroys the Middle East and shatters the relationships with all the former American allies.

Lolz. Bibi's gonna speak. Learn to deal with it.

Most leftists are strongly anti-Semitic--B. Hussein Obama is a good example. They say it's Israel they don't like, to try to cover their animosity toward Jews in general.

Im inclined to agree. Any time a minority DARE stay off the dem vote plantation by perhaps being conservative, and they are fair game as well.

That line smells like crap... mostly because of where you pulled it from. Explain to us why Jews in America vote left then? You think they are all duped and/or are stupid?

You guys are so desperate.

Repeating that asinine claim doesn't make it any less asinine.

Jews vote democrat because the majority of jews are liberal and agree with democrat welfare state policies. Is that really so hard for you to understand? Its not their fault that so many libs are anti-semitic.

Yet another parroting the lie. Color me unsurprised.

Ohhhh.... So Jews vote WITH anti-semites because they are so similar? Pathetic failed attempt there my friend.

BTW... that's "democratic" Mr. supporter of the GOP American Nationalists Party. If you are going to be so petty as to slight names I guess I will too.

There are only two parties and jews are liberals so the vote with and for liberals. Again, its not their fault that so many liberals hate jews.

Waa. Poor baby. You can use whatever terminology you like. Why would I care?

Funny how its right wingers who generally end up killing the Jews throughout history ain't it? Bahhh... who needs history when you can rewrite it eh?

What makes Jews liberal there genius boy?

Right wingers? You seem to be the one with the history problem. Here, think this through a bit. Right wingers stand for less government and individual liberty. Left wingers are the party of the state. It is the state, the leftist states of fascism and communism that slaughter innocents in general and jews in particular. The farther right you go on the political spectrum, the smaller government gets. The farther left, the bigger. I get why leftists don't want to own up to their own evil, but there it is.

What makes Jews liberal there genius boy?
The same thing that makes you liberal.

You are conflating soooooo much here. First you are conflating American right-wingers with historical right wing movements... and to an even finer point, you are conflating American right-winger rhetoric with their actual record. Small government my arse.

Why is it so hard for liberals to engage in honest debate? Dude, it was YOU who conflated American right wingers with historical evils committed by what liberals label right wing movements. I simply responded. But as long as we are on the subject, what defines a 'historical right wing movement' and how does it differ from modern American right wing movements?

To that point, we may have a fair amount of agreement. Hence the name RINO.

I never meant conflated American right wing movements with historical right wing movements. Yes they are both on the right wing of the political spectrum but I don't call the GOP Nazi's. You're simply trying to play the victim by being dishonest. Not me.
