Scott Walker cut $541 million in taxes last year. Now his state will miss a $108 mill

Re: Scott Walker cut $541 million in taxes last year. Now his state will miss a $108

Efficiently, by cutting programs? Florida did that by essentially not having a computer science program in the University of FL. Also, as I already mentioned, many states had no revenue at all and needed to cut which was tragic in itself, but highly irresponsible if they ran a surplus and decided to give it back to the state's richest instead of funding its educational system. This harms the middle class.

And yet...education spending is stable and test scores in Wisconsin are up (you DID follow up on the conversation we had a few days ago...right? Or did you just ignore it when presented the positive information and move on to a different category to attack?).

Do you really think all people from MA or partisan Dems:doh
My quote isnt addressing all people from Massachusetts. Just you.

Re: Scott Walker cut $541 million in taxes last year. Now his state will miss a $108

...ion debt payment
This is the champion of fiscal conservatism and responsible governance? Oh My. Defaulting on a payment, costing the taxpayers' kids more in the future. This is my complete lack of surprise.
Maybe if he just cut taxes some more?

Oh, no! He cut taxes. What an awful person he must be!
I just can't imagine what it is like to be a liberal. Sitting there, just waiting for an opportunity to attack someone that has lowered taxes.

What drives a person to be so outraged that citizens of this country retained some of their own money, money that they have earned? And instead, being on the side of an already bloated, over-sized, and wasteful federal government to gobble up even more of our earnings?

Is there any limit to how big and controlling you want the government to be? I believe you would vote for a candidate that pledged a 90% tax rate, government specified cars, electricity, healthcare, homes, jobs, etc..., just as long as there was a "D" next to his name.

Hey, whatever you do, don't sit back and think about what the hell you are doing. It's time to ask yourselves who's side you are on.

They seem to have caused a $433 million net windfall for Wisconsin taxpayers.

Keeping their money NOW then that debt bill will come due and now they owe more.

:) Democrats are getting worried.

Walker is Immune to Democrats Class Warfare Strategy

ruh-roh..... :)

You have a great point.

The Democrat's favorite tactic against their political opponents is to dig up as much dirt as they can and then blow it all out of proportion and spin it till their opponent loses. The fact that they are going with this insignificant tax thing shows that they are scraping the bottom of the barrel...and they still have more than a year and a half to go.

Now, I'm not a Republican so I don't have a say in who they nominate, but it sure does look like Walker might be their best choice right now. I'm thinking Hillary would be toast if she has to run against him.

Sounds to me like it's a common tactic in that State and it's been used by Democrats as well as Republicans without a big deal being made of it...until now, of course. Now that Walker is running for President.

Besides...liberals/progressives/Democrats haven't much room to talk...at least when you consider that, on the national level, they are more inclined to increase taxes AND increase the deficit.

how can it be common when Walker himself bragged about creating the first surplus in forever.

did you forget your talking points? ooops

It is the tactic that is common.

Come on, dude...keep on twisting and spinning. Maybe someone will care...eventually.

What were the surplus/deficit figures like when Hillary was part of the Administration?

Re: Scott Walker cut $541 million in taxes last year. Now his state will miss a $108

He's doing as Norquist calls starving the beast. He wants to kill all government programs in order to privatize everything. It will make his wealthy contributors wealthier while hurting everyone else in his state. He's a perfect tool for them.

It's a more logical motive to cut taxes than the argument that tax cuts create more revenue.

I don't understand why you care so much about what a governor is doing in a state you don't live in. The people there are happy - does that bother you?

I care because some people think he's fit to run MY NATION.

Re: Scott Walker cut $541 million in taxes last year. Now his state will miss a $108

The fastest way to poverty for the middle class is to privatize everything.

that is unbelievably silly

It's Bologna.

"In the long run, a shift from income to sales and excise taxation will definitely make the state's tax system less progressive; that is, it will shift a larger portion of the costs of government services to those with lower incomes," Reschovsky wrote in an email.

It also will starve off critical programs for these people. I call it the three card Monte;)

Re: Scott Walker cut $541 million in taxes last year. Now his state will miss a $108

citations needed.

why don't you ask for the person who made the silly statement for proof. Or does that silliness of claiming privatization (which runs against what apparently you support-more and more government control over every thing) will lead to middle class poverty is something you support?
