WASHINGTON —*The Republican-controlled Congress approved a bill Wednesday to construct the Keystone XL oil pipeline, setting up a confrontation with President Barack Obama, who has threatened to veto the measure.

The House voted 270-152 to send the bill to the president, endorsing changes made by the Senate that stated climate change was real and not a hoax, and oil sands should no longer be exempt from a tax used to cleanup oil spills. Only one Republican voted against the measure.

Well one republican values our water supply more than profits for a canadian business.

We`ll see if obama does too....

Where did you see that? I had to go look up the roll call vote to figure out who it was.

Rep. Justin Amash, btws.

#KXL bill combines cronyism—exempting one company from laws—w/ new sections empowering EPA & fed gov on local energy efficiency. I voted no.

Today's #KXL bill is ~2 pages of KXL & ~31 pages of unrelated sections regarding energy efficiency in commercial buildings & water heaters.

#KXL bill is no longer just about KXL. Senate attached other legislation to the bill to increase federal control over local energy policy.

Just assumed. Well regardless of the reason, his vote is interesting

BHO will probably veto it, and the Repubs will then have an excellent issue for 2016. Hillary Clinton, in particular, will have a tough time with the issue because Bill is on record (and video) many times supporting KXL.

This has nothing to do with the enviroment, its all about keeping the oil on crony Democrat billionare Warren Buffets railroad so he can continue to get filthy rich and keep donating to the party. When they say they care about the enviroment they are lying once again as a derailment is much more likely to cause enviromental damage than a pipeline.
